Pyramid of Candy!

This was put together for my little sister's 8th birthday party :) Just get crafty type foam (like the white type for floral arrangements) and cut circles (or squares or triangles etc.) of decreasing size. Hot glue together....Then, hot glue on those fun sized candies (just a little dab). You know, the kind you discovered to be not so very fun unless you're eight years old :) This makes it easy for people to pull the candies off and keeps the arrangement nice and tidy.Vodka and Cranberry Juice for the adults.... kidding :P

Stacked wood beam pyramid frame

Can someone point me in the right direction? i need to find either a tutorial, or the math i need to use for my cuts to make what is in the photo. i have been searching a solid 6 hours, through hundreds of "results" pages. have not found ONE link, not even an image of anything that resembles it. i am 98% sure that the problem is me not being able to word it properly. Please help. Thanks

How would you go about making a wooden pyramid? Answered

I'm trying to make a wooden pyramid, preferably triangle based, but from what I can find square would be easier, with a specific sized face. I wanted the faces isosceles triangles with 3 7/8 in bases, 4 1/4 in tall, with base angles working out to be  65.5 degrees - the angles are important, the lengths can stand to be varied. I went ahead and made a mock up, but the 30 degree edge cuts left me with an odd sort of 3d kite instead of a pyramid. So how can design a pyramid with a specific face size, either triangle or square based.

Power amp clipping problem?

I recently bought a Pyramid PTA150 1500 watt power amp, and its clipping led's always seem to be lit when my mixer is set to half volume or higher, even when the amp is unplugged. Could they be powered from the input voltage when it is high enough? Is it bad to push my amp when they are lit? and it has a high volume cooling fan so I dont think it will overheat when pushed.?

Pyramid head costume, what would be the best materials and design? Answered

I plan on making a sweet Pyramid head costume this year, and it'll be my first costume made so tips would be nice. I need some advice on what to use for the helmet cage and if I should go for the Game version of Pyramid Head (Apron, gloves, and boots) or Movie (Skin... kilt? and no gloves) either way I'll be using the movie helmet as it'll be easier to make most likely, and It'll look better. I have no idea what to get for materials except for some sort of rigid foam and covering for the helmet.

How could I make a full body apron for a Pyramid head costume?

I already have some cloth I  plan to use. I just need some help on the pattern, and maybe on how to paint it in the end. This Halloween aught to be pretty awesome if I can get this right, but so far, my mask seems a little small... maybe it's just me, but hopefully I can make a good pyramid head apron and mitts! THIS IS FOR THE SILENT HILL 2 PYRAMID HEAD! Not the movie/homecoming one!

Three Sided Truth

Global Consciousness Project – Long Term ExperimentI've been watching the GCP for over 4 years. I would like to create a permanent visual installation based on acquired data from the EGG database. The installation will be a tetrahedron, displaying past, present, and the "so-called" probable data. No explanation of what the display portrays. Mysterious as it will be, time and historical data will stir subconscious minds to recognize patterns. I believe this is the perfect device that will develop questions within closed minds and thus in time, answers.Read up on GCP here: Princeton GCPI have a physical design in mind for the installation. I would like to lead the creative task force for creating such a device. I'm wondering if I can find people here that would be interested in helping with the internal electrical and mechanical engineering that will be needed to operate the device. Serious minds needed only. This is a long-term project possibly taking several months to a year to complete. Funding will be provided once the preliminary concept is thoroughly defined. I would like to see that these devices are scattered across the globe and placed in highly visible areas. The domain name ThreeSidedTruth.com has been registered for this project. I hope to find some interested minds.threesidedtruth@gmail.com~ Demannu

Mini truss

G'day people Time to show me if Instructables lives up to its name I need to come up with a very easy and fast way to build a minituare truss (picture of truss attached). It basically consists of two aluminum face sheets, that sandwich a network of drinking straws. The drinking straws are arranged in such a way that they form little pyramids (take a look at the picture for it to be clearer). My issue is that I'm working with very tight dimensional restrictions. The 2nd picture shows the dimensions of the top and bottom face sheets. The drinking straws are 3mm in diameter. The edges of the "pyramids"  must form an angle of 30, 45 or 60 degrees with the horizontal plane. The current method I'm using to make these trusses takes about 5 - 6 hours.  I need something that could take less than an hour. Also, the straws are glued to the face sheets with a small glue gun, but this leaves a lot of "glue residue" around the straws. If you have any better ideas.... what say you?!! edit: I forgot to mention that money is not really much of an issue, so if you suggest I need some equipment or something of the sort that would be rather expensive, I will seriosuly consider it!

Need help finding easy materials for Pyramid Head (Silent Hill 2/Movie) costume!

I know there are a few topics and instructables on how to make a Pyramid Head costume already, but mine's going to be a bit different. I'm going to sort of be mixing costume styles of the Pyramid Heads from the Silent Hill movie, and the second Silent Hill game where he made his debut. I have past experience with this costume, actually. In fact, it was the first costume I ever made myself. My mom and I originally made the helmet out of posterboard and duck tape, but it didn't hold up so well after a while, plus it had a problem where it would get somewhat lopsided, or if I turned my head, the helmet would stay in place. This is because there was nothing inside the helmet to support my head when I turned it, or to keep it to where it moved and stayed upright with my head. The robes I made out of a bloody labcoat/doctor's coat with ripped off sleeves, and a bloodied cook's apron. draped over it to conceal the buttons. Made it look kind of odd with the layering, but I worked with it. I used a pair of white female dress gloves with it, because they looked alot like his. Anyway, this year I was wanting to revamp the costume, and add in a bit more detail, change the style a little. I was wanting to make his helmet more like the Movieverse's helmet', with the sharper angle, and grating on the sides. But I wanted to keep the apron that he had from the second game, since I don't really have the figure for the really ripped PH from the movie. So I come to you all for help. :) I need suggestions for this.  I'm also working on a bit of a budget, and I'm not at all good at woodworking. So I can't use anything like fiberglass or actual metal, I don't believe. I want it to look good, look pretty authentic and recognizable, something people could come up to in conventions and say " Dude, that's awesome", but with easy to find and work with materials. I've never sewn in my life, either, so that's out. My first one I'd like is for his helmet. I already have a decent idea of how to make it. This time I'll probably be working with super glue instead of duck tape this year. Duck tape's a miracle tool, but there's only so far it can go in certain rare situations. Something like a helmet the size of a small child requires a certain amount more work. For the helmet, I'm probably going to be using window mesh like the kind used in certain windows or porch doors for the grating on the sides of the helmet. I got that as a suggestion from another instructable, and after a bit of testing how well I can see through it, I think I can work with it. I think assembling it will be easy. I may tape it together first just to see what it'd look like fully constructed before I glue it, though. My main issue with the helmet will probably be support. I need to be able to turn my head, have it move with me and my body when I'm turning around and navigating certain areas. Does anyone have any suggestions on a way to make it do that? Again, it can't be incredibly expensive. ( About more than 20-25 dollars in this case scenario.) A second bit of help I'd need is his skin. Now, my skin's naturally very pale, but there's the problem of hair. I could try applying some kind of makeup to it, but I imagine it'd smudge badly by the end of the day. If I did that, I'd probably have to wax my arms first. x.x The problem with that is that people would probably want to hug me throughout the day, and I'd be smudging makeup on their clothes. Another idea I had was trying to find a white leotard or something similarly tight-but-thin to use as his skin. I'd be able to dirty it up a bit to make it look like his. Only problem is, I don't know where to get one. There aren't any specialty stores around in a fifteen mile radius that I know of that would sell them, and I can't order online for specific reasons. Does anyone know of any widely known store that would possibly sell leotards, or something similar that I could use to cover my upper and lower body? I know white hose or thin white stockings would work for his legs, but it's the arms and upper body that are bugging me. The last bit of help I'd need is for the Great Knife, his BFS. I think I'll also be making it out of thick posterboard, possibly layered with cardboard as well, painted silver. But I wanted to know if there's a better way. I made a really ramshackle Great Knife before out of posterboard, but in retrospect, it resembled more of a giant paddle. XP It's not much diffirent from a buster sword, but most of the Buster Sword instructables I see here are only with wood. And again, horrible at woodwork.  For the handle of the blade, I was probably going to use the handle of a paintbrush or large cleaver. Anything better you all would suggest? Sorry this is such a long read, but I desperately need the help, and I wanted to get a head start on it before October (the date of the next convention in east TN, I think. And Halloween. ). Thank you in advance to anyone who can offer suggestions. Again, I'm working on a bit of a budget, though. The most I can spend per item is about 20-25 dollars. Shameful as it is to say, I normally get most of my material for costumes from thrift stores, surplus stores, and flea markets. I feel bad that I can't sew or do woodwork like the awesome cosplayers and craftsmen on the site.

Food groups

A day in the culinary life of this high school/college student generally includes at least three of the four food groups. In case you missed the FDA's new pyramid, these are Pizza, Crazy Bread, Chinese food, and Dr. Pepper. This is actually an improvement from the three years before that, which had only two food groups: ramen and not-ramen. The second is at the top of the pyramid--used sparingly. How about you? What kind of extended poor diet did you live on back in the day? or maybe even right now...

3D cutter or mechanism to hold various power tools controlled via computer

I'm looking for a project or site where I can find knowledge on building a rig to enable the carving of an item from a top down point of view.I've seen images of people's engraving setup's which is close to what I'd like, but I need it to be more. As a simple example of what I'd like to do is if I had a cube block of wood, use this rig to say carve/shape a pyramid. I'd write myself a program to control various motors based on some sort of data that held the model of the pyramid. Thanks.

What kind of 12v battery do I need?

I've got one of these: http://www.amazon.com/Pyramid-PB70-Power-Amplifier-Booster/dp/B000A896FW/ref=sr_1_1?s=electronics&ie;=UTF8&qid;=1296352335&sr;=1-1 A Pyramid 150 watt audio amplifier, hooked up to a pair of Pyle 5.25" 140 watt speakers. I'd like to get a 12v battery to run it it for a few hours, but I don't know what kind of amp hours I'm going to need. Any ideas? I'd use a car battery, but I want to be able to fit the whole she-bang into an ammo can. Also looking at making a fiberglass backpack speaker enclosure for snowboarding / biking, and I want to try and keep the weight down. I don't know if I can use a 12v cordless drill battery pack, or if I should try sealed lead acid batteries.

How (not) to improve eyesight

We seem to be getting a rash of Instructables claiming to be able to improve eyesight through simple exercises. Please, people, can these stop? The methods were quackery in 1920, and have been thoroughly refuted numerous times since (for example in 1956 and 2004 ), yet, like holistics, pyramid power, magnetic bracelets and a host of other quackeries, they still do the rounds and fool people into falling for them. Please, people, do a little research before posting supposedly medical treatments.

Things we could do without on i'bles

Ok, recently I have been seeing more and more Instructables that make me wonder about the youth of today, so in memory of my favorite comedian George Carlin (if you are under 18 or easily offended don't google him) I present People Instructables could do without: People who think piracy is a good thing to post. People who plagiarise (sp?) other peoples work and pass it up as their own. Pyramid scheme and other spammers. Companies who think that this is free advertising (remember what dremmel did?) People who make I'bles that should be a slideshow or forum topic. People who make I'bles on drugs, stealing, etc. I wont single anyone out by posting examples, and I know I'm no angel myself. Comments?

Ancient technologies revisted - Cities too old to exist

Cities that are really ancient exist around the world and we still find more.Pumapunko is a bit of a conundrum here.Located in Bolivia and siad by historians be from around AD 530.On the other hand our modern carbon dating methods fail to confirm this age, in fact the C14 tests often provide an age of over 17.000 years.Confirmed over and over but still inconclusive as you can't actually date the stone - it has no carbon for testing. The claim the cities is much older than what archeology tells us is based on things found in foundations and crushed by these blocks when set in place.Simply said: If it got in there or between the stone then it must have happened when it was build.Ancient cities are not the only things of an age that defies our knowledge.Temple in India, statues from all over the world face the same problem.Ancient texts claim that they are much older, in fact that a lot of them were already there whe the humans writing about them appeared. For things like the great pyramid and its smaller counterparts we have quite clear info provided from that time, so we can rest assured the dating is rather accurate.Still modern science, modern technology, modern professionals all fail to come up with ideas how it was possible to create this pyramid in the about 22 years claimed. The same texts that give us the age AND the time to build it also refer to people who helped with the creation, gave guidance and tools. For other buidings and temples we can find simial stories about their origins but those in charge of history claim it is all in a mythical sense and not real.Well, if all the rest of the text is real, why would someone have made crap about who helped them?If anything then whoever wrote it would have praised his boss, the king or whoever but not people from the stars...And when it comes to placement and alignment we again fail to explain anthing. For example how these pyramids around the world could have been aligned exactly with their sides to face north, south, east and west. One might be coincidence but almost all of them...We invented the compass much later....And how was it possible to align shaft and "inspection holes" to stars we only discovered 2000 years later when we finally invented big enough telescopes?...Going back to Pumapunko and considering it was created thausands of years before the pyramids we can only wonder.A modern stone mason would not even take on a job to re-create the complex carving and box cut outs in granite, basalt or similar hard rock.If he did he would not be able to create the same sharp and well defined angles, let alone precision. With no written language the people back then had to rely on stories to keep the past alive, rituals, dances, masks...For Pumapunko these stories tells us about giants, sometimes claimed to be two or three times taller than the ancient people.Same skinny appearance as the famous "Grey", same big head but different eyes and well, huge....Again, most people will say that myths and legends are always a biased overstating of real events, discribed by what we call today simple minded folks. They are all based on things though that the people back then could not explain based on their knowledge and past experiences.Whoever built Pumapunko or helped the natives was well ahead of times.Keep in mind that even if you are really generous our bronze age started about 5000 years ago, Pumapunko was created about 10.000 years earlier...History and archeology tries to hide these facts by finding ways to place the creation of these ancient structures always within the bronze age but never before.Carbon dating though showed us again and again how wrong these guesstimations were. What if?....Imagine science is not something to question but something to accept. And if even just a few of these ancient cities are well older than our discoveroy of mixing copper with some shiny metal to make hard bronze then it means our human evolutions needs to be revised.Tools capable to precisely transform a mountain into blocks and then delicate masonary work requires technology.Transporting block of often over 100 metric tons, the seize of a big school bus and larger, not only requires technology but also a decent understanding of the terrain and how to tackle it.And designing a big city, stone by stone certainly requires a set of skills no human brain was capable of before the bronze age.We were hunters and gathering food but not architacts, machinists and stone masons. You might still be able to ignore timeframes from ancient texts as well as reports of how it was done in these texts but we can't ignore "coincidence".No matter where you look you find what mainstream science discards as pure coincidences.Like the alignment of the pyramids around the world.Orion and Sirius are the main constellations used for thei alignment. And they were always true and following the alignment allowed us to "discover" the ancient knowldge hubs of that time.Similar with their shape and size - always matching the same "base plan" like the great pyramid. For the ancient cities we also face the additional problem that they provide the evidence of a much greater understanding of not only our solar system but about astronomy and even the pole shifting of our planet. Not to mention the prediction of solar and lunar eclipses - impossible unless you already knew that the erath is not the center of the universe...We struggle to accept the concept of real gods actually doing labour for us or spending enough time with us to teach us.Same for accepting that some E.T. came and still comes to visit and influence us.And we simply can't explain how things were done thausands of years ago without accepting that a much higher technology than what we have today was involved. Some now say it was never higher technology but just knowledge human kind has forgotten during times when survival was more important. And we appearently re-discover old and forgotten skills and technologies - like it is encoded in our genes.Either way it leaves a huge gap we won't dare to touch so we can understand our past.It make you wonder how we might have evolved from those ancient cultures if they were not wiped out again and again for no obvious reason by nature...

Seedbank = Arctic Bunker

Norway has built a pretty awesome1 seed storage facility over 400 feet under a frozen arctic mountain. Further chilled by air conditioners to reach -0.4F, the seeds should be safe for up to 1000 years. Hooray for biodiversity! From an AP article:The vault will serve as a backup for hundreds of other seed banks worldwide. It has the capacity to store 4.5 million seed samples from around the world and shield them from man-made and natural disasters.Dug into the permafrost of the mountain, it has been built to withstand an earthquake or a nuclear strike. The seeds are packed in silvery foil containers -- as many as 500 in each sample -- and placed on blue and orange metal shelves inside three 32-foot-by-88-foot storage chambers. Each vault can hold 1.5 million sample packages of all types of crop seeds, from carrots to wheat.1Did you see Alien vs. Predator? Remember the big Antarctic bunker/pyramid? The Norwegians clearly did too.

Ancient technologies revisited - Ley Lines and Magic

Ley lines are a pure mythical thing, they do not exist, they do nothing. That is what science tells us....Myths and legends however always have a tiny bit of truth and honesty in them...No wonder then that we have detailed maps of these Ley Lines available, even your favourite search engine can find then for you. Many cities were build not just along these lines but directly onlo crossings or NODES of this invisble and non-existing grid.Quite an awful lot of them have names that got translated into more modern languages but never actually changed their original meaning. In almost all cases a reference to the stars or one particualr one or some constallation.Science and mainstream history says it is coincidence....No matter where you look in ancient texts the powerful cities were always located on the most powerful parts of the Ley Line grid. And funny enough it only took us a few hundred years to come with enough science to actually confirm that these lines actually DO EXIST.But finally admitting they are real because we can measure something is slightly different in these locations does not help to bring magic back into our world.Or did the magic actually never really leave? We hear about wonders that are impossible, like people being healed from all sorts of uncurable stuff by visiting certain places that are claimed to have healing powers. Is it really a surprise that almost all of the known places we have access to are located on a Ley Line node? The modern human can't except magic. In ancient times religion took care of magic, sometimes with brute force.Later science made sure that magic is forgotten and turned into just a myth. Now the base of magic is suddenly included in science, so the only logical conclusion must be that magic is back! But where is it?If I use a fancy looking "stick" to point at a truck and make it float through the air it would not a big deal."Oh look, what a great magician he is!" and the crowd applause pleases me...They wouldn't care how the trick worked, they just know it was some sort of trickery. And if the trick indeed would be real then some scientist would jump in to for an autopsy of my body and whatever I had with me....But if I would have done something similar 30.000 years ago I would have been declared a god....Humans always seek to find an explanation for things we fail to understand. And the more we study ancient texts with our modern eyes wide open we more similarities we find. The first archeologists to see and study Maya relics had no clue about planes, so obviously they interpreted models of them as something entirely different. This and many other misconceptions were carried on throughout time till today. Those who dare to look again and question what we "know" about ancient cultures for so long are silenced....Most end up to be labeled "Alien believer"...And we still fail to accept aliens or visitors from our own future into mainstream science...If Ley Lines exist it confirms that they must provide access to some sort of energy we no longer remember how to use.Ancient texts often speak about things we would today call a vortex.Be it as a doorway, something that does incredible things or just divides the red sea...Although totally out of magic science explored in theory how energy from a higher plane or continuum would manifest for us if they enter what we can see and experience. The conclusion is that it had to be in spiral or to be precise in all three dimensions vortex like style. It is partly based on facts we can already clearly obersver when one type of energy creates different one.Like a hurricane created by the difference in air temperatures becomes self suffient and stronger although the available energy to power it appears to be way too small....And of course our modern, linear math won't allow us to fully calculate what is really happening in a tornado...A technological gimmick to access the power of the ley lines might be just something tiny, like a resonator...We can't hear our favourite radio station if our tuner does not resonate at the same frequency...Our wireless chargin won't work at all if the sending and receiving coils are not properly matched to operate at common frequencies...The available energy would not only be basically limitless but also clean with no pollution, no waste products....So why we did we forget how to use ley lines? It was religion...They exist, they have powers and energies we have yet to understand. But do we at least have any theories were their power comes from?It can't be the stars as the ley lines are fixed structures, they do not move with the starts their nodes often represent. It can't be the ground or natural formations around either as there is nothing we can detect to be different. But we could try to accept a totally different theory about the center of our earth.Science tells us we a hard crust, then some molten rock and finally a liquid metal core that is somehow spinning and creating our magnetic field....Great story but sadly based on just linear math and our current theories of things we can't actually reach to explore.Funyy then how the greed of humatiy comes to the rescue...Diamonds are expnsive, especially those rare, pure and special ones.Several mines getting diamonds from very deep down in our mantle found strange things in some diamonds.Water....Ok, not water as we know it but the same building blocks. It was only confirmed to be water because when these "impurites" were analysed science already created this type of water.Part of a great science project theroy turned reality. With enough heat and pressure water changes the state of matter, it becomes ice.To be precise ICE7.It is a bit like a very energy plasma constantly being recycled. And it has magnetic properties in its crystalline structure but also on a sub atomic level in its plasma form. How would such a reaction be possible?Gravity of course. If you have water without gravity afeecting it you get a perfect sphere. With enough water your "drop" creates its own gravit by its mass.Add more and more more water and gravity will compress what is at the center.Keep adding and you create a minature sun running a cold fusion process with just hydrogen and oxygen. The natural forces of your movement around the sun and what is manipulated by the moons gavitational impact keeps the up the required motion for the fusion process.Ice7 could not exist in molten lava core with a spinning metal ball at the center. But molten lava under our tectonic plates and their movement is not problem at all if their mass is nothing but "floating debris" covering a huge cold fusion reactor.Compression by gravity and a "water" core create enough friction to melt rocks. We use the same priciple in friction welding in our industry...Unce the firction is great enough the to be welded metals melt and theep meltig until the rotation suddenly stops and all goes solid again as one single piece. The ley lines might be nothing more then emissions from our cold fusion reactor, like directed radio waves if you like to make it too simple. But ley lines are on the ground so the entire therory of Ice7 and cold fusion is just crap!?Science does not give up that easy and confirmed they are actually extending all the way into space.Satellites were able to measure the tiny variations when crossing ley lines and especially nodes where multiple lines intersect. The race to find what might be required to access the "magical" powers of our ley lines started ages ago.The only thing that has changed is the approach and who organises this search. One conclusion that was made again and again is that we will only be able to understand ancient technology once we understand what role the ley lines really play in what myths calls magic. To get a grasp how simple yet complex this understanding is we can go to the great pyramid in Aegypt.Build on a stron Leyline node and confirmed to be oriented by certain stars. You can look all the details about this up on your favourite search engine.Quite intersting once you realise the great precision and drive to aligne everything so perfectly.Even more when you realise the pyramid is also orientated properly on the ley lines. There are only a very few places on our planet that allow for the alignemnt of both stars and ley lines - they all have pyramids there with remarkably similar features or constructions to creat calendars and time keeping based on the movement of the sun and various planets. Some of these old cultrues even tracked the axial shift of our planet to have a warning system for a reversal of our magnetic field...But the great pyramid of Giza has nothing to actually track stars...Then why are all the "tunnels" to the "burial chambers" pointing prescisely at certain starts, including one in the Orion belt that even a decent telescope struggles to make visible? The same stars mentioned again and again throughout all ancient cultures....Some say the pyramids have powers, others say they were gigantic power plants, some they they were devices to accurately track the stars and to make sure whoever has the final resting place there will be able to reach and see his home planet. What if all of this has a true backgorund we yet fail to understand and explore?A now quite famous couple observing vulcanic activity around the globe managed to get quite precise prediction on not just when and where a vulcano is at risk to blow but also how severe the eruption might be.How is such an impossible "magical" prediction possible you ask?No magic, just pure science. The gravitational pull on our planet is not just affected by the moon, it just our biggest influencer in the game.Every planet out there in our soloar system creates gravity. And they all move around "randomly".If the aligned however things change dramatically. In the worst case all our planets between earth and sun are in one perfect line whle the rest of them is in a prefect line on the opposite side of the sun - the gravitational pull on planet earth is at max.Of course it is at the lowest when the inner planets are behind the sun and the outer planets behind earth.Thes seintists track this movement to predict in conjunction with the position of earth if a vulcanic active region would be subject to increased gravitational pull.Theory is it would cause and increase in magma pressure and movement. And the theory shows to be correct time and time again. Now try to imagine this:All the stars that have perfectly aligned channels in the great pyramid align with these tunnels AND all our solar planets align just right as well.If science is correct then around the time the pyramids were build this alignment was true.Get your calculator to check when the same conditions happen again and you might get a big surprise when realising the day is not that far away...Only too bad that we neither have the outer lining of the pyramid nor what was really inside these chambers at the time they were finished.Keep in mind that in most cases the pharao died long AFTER the pyramid for him was finished. We could wonder the same about many old cities in the UK, Europe and especiall Italy. No one denies that Rome was build in just seven days ;) or that it is build on a very secific point on the ley lines.Only few though know that the perfect spot on the lay lines is occocied by the center of the Vatican.Don't know about you....But if the pyramids are said to have had great powers when the time was right then what powers might the Vatican reveal when its alignment to its stars are perfect?Go ahead, start from england and follow the ley line all the way to rome.Take the names of some of the vital cities along the line and make the reference to the star or constellation they were named after.Like for the pyramid, these "bread crumbs" will tell you when the time for Rome is perfect.See what great historical events happen during past alignments and wonder what might happen during the next ;)And suddenly we get the feeling that magic is nothing but a boost of knowledge and technology handed to select few people.Only the most prestigious and "decorated" members of the church are allowed to access the secrect libraries of the Vatican.Even fewer are allowed to actually study them....And all of these few are "fluent" in many ancient languages.....So if GOD would ever return it would be in Rome and there would be people able to at least understand his written language and speak a few works in the old tongue.Imagine though another "god" would visit earlier in a religious location that aligns earlier? The race to be the first is already on whether we like to admit it or not.Only question is which god will be first and what magic will he bring us this time?Ley lines are as real as the cities and monuments build exactly and precisely on them. Some of them are older than humanity as know in from our books.Do some exploration of the ley lines nodes close to you.Listen to the myths and legends of the area, visits the places you hear about and try to see them with open eyes and a free mind.Dive into the past to find out where the origins of the stories and myths you found might lead you.Nature is all around and includes ley lines, we only have to allow to see and understand to imagine what might have been and what might be again.Magic is nothing but energy and technology observed by someone who does not know these things.Let a cave man watch Seinfeld and see what he draws on his cave wall once you and the TV are gone ;)

UPDATED What Airguns Do You Own/Recommend?

I ended up getting a Crosman Vantage. It was on sale for $70. I think the MSRP is $145. Yeah, I know, it's just a budget springer. But that was what I was looking for. Not something to last me the rest of my life. It has a good reputation for decent accuracy if you use the artillery hold. With 7.9 grain pellets it should be getting about 900 +/- FPS. It came in the mail the other day. Pyramid air has fast shipping. The wood is acceptable, and the barrel lock up is very solid and their is practically no barrel droop. I haven't shot it yet, but the barrel is very easy to cock for a sub magnum springer. Of course I only cocked it 80% of the way and I don't want to dry fire it. I have some Crosman Premier Hollow Points to try in it, as well as some cheap pointed pellets and destroyers I'll use to break it in. I think it will be fine for tin can killing. Not sure it's the best hunting implement, since the included scope is meh.

Sparklers and the meaning of life

I have been playing with sparklers for ages now the latest experiment was to do several layers of aluminum foil and duct tape around two packets of sparklers and putting some arrow fletchs on them... the last one we tried went across three paddocks and nearly took out a shetland pony :-( we measured it the next day and it came up to 150 metres. However i have allways been looking for explosions... sidetracking slightly here but i actually got an explosion my bro welded up a pyramid the size of a soccer ball i filled it with sparkler dust dad wasnt very happy about the huge hole it left in our roof when it exploded and sent 6ml plate in the air for over 10 seconds that was the dummest thing ive done so im looking to down scale slightly with less shrapnel. So in conclusion Im after a recipe using roughly $30 worth of sparklers to explode keeping in mind that i live in Aus so some matierals are harder to come by. thanks everybody any feedback is supported so keep the comments flowing :-)

Your thoughts on "UFO's", strange things and the unknown

Don't take what comes below too serious please ;) I thought for the start of the new year it would be fun to talk about things we take for granted or that we would call nonsense. You know topis like those provided by Erich Däniken and other that think outside the conventional archiological range. Modern science has provided us with new insights into very old stuff but also a new look on things we thought to know better anyway. Here is some food for thought: 1. India... In this beautiful and old country it was discovered that hundreds if not over 2000 years ago people used lathe technology on stones. For example to make pillars with a weight over a few tons... Chains were created from molten rock and in many areas you find polished stone that even after hundreds of years still has a mirror finnish. Some of these creations are claimed to be made with hammer and chisel but how do you get a displayed accuracy that even modern technology struggles to provide? I don't want to clutter everything with video links but check Youtube and you will find temples in India showing musical granite pillars and chambers carved into solid rock with a precision that seems impossible! If that long ago human knd already knew about gear systems and lathe technology, then what else have we lost over time that we now claim as new technologies? How could anyone polish an entire granite hall and a big one that is to a mirror finnish? 2. Peru... Apart from being full of archeological wonders there is also the impossible to be found. The Nazca region shows, in aerial views, kilometer long and perfectly straight lines. In other regions, also in other continents, we can see images of strange people or artwork - again only from high above ground level. Some of the artwork is only in correct proportions and with proper contours if watched from a very specific angle to the mountain in question. The kilometer long lines are not simply on standard mountain faces but instead on top of mountain that have the top removed to be perfectly flat. And even with a lot of posible options to interpret the lines they look like any other huge, modern airport landing strips - including runways and tracks to areas we would call terminals or service bays. You can ignore all possible ways to interpret the design and possible use, what you can't ignore is the missing mountain top and level of accuracy on such a massive scale! 3. Pyramids... On all continents except Australia we find pyramid structures with very similar features in terms of proportions, angles and the way the face in a certain direction. In Egypt they just recently found another hidden chamber... Tunnels, too small for a human to fit point to stars and star signs. Some of the tools used to create were found with the help of small robots but also that some seem to be quite modern in age. Did grave robbers use them at a time were it is beleived that such tools were impossible to create? Or could they be as old as the pyramids itself? In south america we find pyramid structures looking quite similar to those in Egypt - why so similar in features and appearance if there was no contact between the two civilisations? To make things worse some of the Inca structures show tunnel and channel systems "leading" to the pyramid in question. Classic thought is that they were like tunnels to direct water or provide access in the beleive the jungle was not removed to hide the complex. Makes no sense if you see the city like areas that are now exposed and studied. I mean: how would created a city in the jungle without removing the trees?? What could make you wonder is a simulation that was performed several years ago. Based on a computer model in 3D different theories were tested. Irrigation was ruled out quickly, same for access routes or secret tunnels for the priests. One funny student got bored and decided to play god. Assuming the Inca priests would call their gods in the sky temple to provide rain he let a monsoon go down on the pyramid. The result was unexpected so he showed the results to his companions and they did the same test agin but simulated a massive airflow going down directly on the pyramid. Turned out the flow would be directed away under ground with more efficiency than systems Nasa uses today for rockets and space shuttles... Mind you the tunnels are far from straight and without this simulation it was trusted that they could not do this stuff... We now have rocket technology that uses surface direction and vector control. The square and flat designs leave a void insight that pretty much perferctly match the angles of those inca pyramids? Apart from pure coincidence, what could be the reason for this match in shape and angle with a tunnel system perfect to remove hot engine gasses? Ok, I admit, not all continents, the pyramids in Bosnia are just a hoax, so Europe is out of the race ;) Sorry Semir :) 4. Artwork... Be it here in Australia, the African desert or America - we find images of mystical people or rulers that could make you wonder. Again modern tech in the form color filtering, desitity readings and 3D scanning provided us details unseen before. If you think of gods in very ancient times and try to imagine you would be a native: What do think how many different images of their god could 100 people imagine? Let's agree it would be plenty... But if we study artwork in caves and rocks from around the world we find similarities that IMHO can't be explained. Many show features that, compared with modern technology, could be mistaken for helmets, gloves or even manual control systems. Others show things thought to be as simple as pine cones to resemble modern milling or finnishing tools. Again only possible by enhancing details the naked eye won't see. With no contact to each other and often thausand of years apart: What could the reason for having images of their gods show very similar and sometimes identical "features" ? 5. UFO technology and sightings... Some people love to post videos of secret weapons and UFO's that are simple rocket launches at a perfect time and with perfect weather conditions to attract attention. But what about the things we don't get to see? Just recently the US finally admitted to have a program to investigate what we might call "UFO activity", quite costly one too... This means a lot of leaked videos from fighter planes or spy planes you find on the net are actually the real deal. Often "enhanced" with editing tools but authentic ones have been released by the military and other organisations now too. If it happens over US ground and no US organisations admits to be flying the things we see than what it is? Right, it is a UFO - An Unidentified Flying Object! Does not mean it is alien, despite far too many people thinking an UFO must be alien :( UFO means just that! At the time of seeing it the ones seeing it can not identify the craft or "thing". And, no you are not alone! ;) Happens in all parts of the world and even commercial pilots upload what they can't explain. Oh, you are still a sceptic? Does that mean you think some of these sightings must be alien or do think someone down here uses technology we are not supposed to know of? If you are like me you might like to relax watching the live feed from the ISS. In case you are not try it anyway! Every noticed that that despite the stations own speed "forgeign" objects appear to come towards the station or even to grow in size very quickly? If so you also noticed another very strange thing... No matter what happens up there the stream keeps playing, even at times when the station is moved around a bit to avoid a possible hit with debris. But every single time something appears to move around the ISS or come close to it the feed cuts out. Ok, not every time, for well known stuff orbiting around like satellites, other stations, rocket lauchnes or supply flights they stay on. So, what are those flying objects changing course and direction or even circling the station? Why does the live feed cut out once an object is identified to be unidentified? 6. Roswell technology boom... Some think the US did take ownership of an alien craft, you know the stories and movies I mean... So called eye witness reports and some leaked documents all claim certain unknown technology in great detail. Anything from fibre optics and microchips, over "intelligent metals" to light enhancing glass lenses and seemingly indestructable fibres... Some say that if we would had the option to copy and understand the technology to copy it (without knowing anything about it of course) then the tech boom of the 60' would have been instantly. Imagine flat screen TV's and smartphones with GPS 50 years ago for everyone... ;) 7. Great land in the south - Antartica... The mysteries originating from Antartica range from Atlantis over hidden civilisations and living dinosaurs to the often claimed secret Nazi base with submarines and lost technologies. We all know that life as we know it can't really exists down there, so no strange animals, ancient creatures or a possibility to sustain a secret military base some 60 years ago. Or it there more to it?? Warm lakes containing fresh water with signs of life in them have already been discovered. Same for caves under the ice with temperatures far above freezing - constantly and again with signs of life. Ages ago the continent was still joint with other and in a warmer region so no wonder to find fossils. If we already found places that sustained life for thausands of years then what living things might be down there? Maybe even a place like the Galapagos Islands but for life thought be extinct - imagine Jurassic Park for real under the ice ;) With thriving life, vulcanos, rivers, lakes and all long before the dinosaurs it is not hard to imagine the remains under the ice and carved into the mountains. In todays times it all covered by ice and the sea level is much much higher, so again not hard to imagine that there might be rivers running off under the ice and into the ocean. Some maybe even connected to lakes in a hot spot sustaining life. A secret base from some secret part of the Nazi regime over 60 years ago?? Well, with all we know today about Antartica and is also known about the technological options available at that time it is possible. A submarine could have operated for days or even a few weeks under the ice with support ships available. Not just with so called secret tech but simply with a big sub on a minimum crew and the support of crude ways to reclaim and produce oxygen. If an entrance to a river leading to a suistainable area exists or existed at that time it would have been just a matter of time and endurance to find it. Of course we can't know if it was already found and removed or used since those with capable submarines and technology these days would not talk about it ;) But private or non government explorations map and drill more than ever, so once they hit "restricted areas" or create their own base and research station under the ice we will know ;) What to do if you actually see (or think you do) a real UFO?? Grab the oldest and dirtiest camera aou can find, mount it on the end of your longest fishing pole and create the shakiest video possible. And please make no references at all that would allow to get on the loctation, time or date. Jokes aside there is a good option these days, your modern smartphone, telescope, GoPro or favourite drone. A fake is often uploaded in very bad resolution often so low you might think an old webcam was used. Good fakes are often just a rocket launch, so check for this before you claim it is of unknown origins. Modern tech allows us to record a video in 4K at 60 or even 120FPS , so no excuse for a 320x240 AVI video LOL Optical zoom causes bad results so try to avoid it if possible. Image stabilisation can do wonders for free hand shots of moving objects, so crank it to the max even if the resulting video is a bit smaller in resolution. Geotagging is also a good thing as it allows an easy reference. You might see much more with you eye than what the video show, or in the best case the other way around. That means before you upload take a step back and try too see the video like someone who was not there when it happened! Are the movements reall that impossible? Is it really not just a plane, rocket flares? What sounds did you hear at the time or shortly after that might not be audible in the video? Sometimes a plane in the distance still is in the sunlight while you already stand in the dark - keep elevation in mind ;) Compare with other videos online that claim to be taken around the same time and area - sure you did not film a rocket launch? But if your video is crystal clear and shows the impossible in great detail you might want to check for the usual markings on military aircrafts or flashing lights in green and red. Still all good and impossible to explain? Then what are you waiting for? Tell us where, when and with what type of gear and upload the video so we get evidence of unknown technologies in the use/testing or an actual UFO - Unidentified flying object, until we know better. ;) Again don't take me too serious today but enjoy some of the thoughts and let your imagination wander off a bit. Lost technologies and knowlege exists, existed, is found again - whatever you want to call it. If humans could move stone blocks the size of a small house and create them with an accuracy down to the mm then they might have known more than we think they did. If we could melt granite to form new things, manipulate its sound or carve hollow heads of just a few mm in size then again we lost something well worth knowing. If in ancient times people had no way of seeing really distant and dim stars then how were they able to accurately map them and predict their movement? If milling and lathe technology was known and used when in other parts of the world we were happy to create simple and weak tools: How was it possible to create gears and know about planetary gear systems? If the evidence of the work clearly shows advance technologies used then where are the tools used and why can we find any written records or images of it being used? If even the all mighty US military, secret agencies and space programs fail to explain what they encounter quite often since we fly around: What is really that seems to try to hide from us while appearing to watch how we evolve, explore and fight wars? Since you still bother to read all this nonsense: If it appears we have "evidence" of the existance of beings capable of flying or even space travel since the dawn of time and add all the modern evidence: Is it possible someone or something has been watching us since humans came to be? Did "they" guide some cultures at some stage during their evolution to show us modern ways of creating alloys, machine stuff or understand what was magic or the gods at that time? And if they did help our evolution in some parts then why did this greatly improved society disappear with no more trace than their stone remains? How would we react if they dare to help us again? Is there a reason that even after countless encounters noone tried to shoot one of the UFO's down? I mean, not even a claim for trying since Rosswell..... Not any evidence of a recent landing either..... Or are we just watched so closely because they want something back we too from them??? ;) I blame all spelling mistakes on my annoyingly unresponsive keyboard. But if you still find some then feel free to keep them! I still demand a fee if use them to make money from them ;)

Toy-Story 3 lots-o huggin bear conspiracy.

So i finally watched Toy Story3.(which happens to be epic) But I happend to relate lots-o huggin bear to adolf hitler....Why?you might be wondering. Well here's my list of thing that support my thesis. Also this is sorta crazy..maybe im just over thinking this but it does all make sense. 1-The biggest indicator is the line "Things were fine until lots-o came along. and he made a pyramid and put him self at the top of it!" which is what hitler did in the 1930's by making germany a dictatorship. 2-Another thing i noticed is how:Big baby, the rock moster, and the bug. Were alot like the SS by doing lots-o's bidding no matter what. 3-SPOILER-Near the end of the movie when they get past the trash grinding thing. And lots-o was gonna hit the stop button. He didn't and the toys he didn't like(woody, buzz, etc.) were going to end up in the trash incinerator. Which made me think of the mass burnings of jew's during the holocaust just because hitler didn't like them. 4-I also related to quote by pricklepants(the clown)"Sunnyside is a place of ruin and despair, ruled by an evil bear who smells of strawberries!" To how the concentration are usually described in history books/storys. Also i related how the evil toys(hitler,SS)lived well in the butterfly room.versus how poor the good toys(jew's) were treated awfully in the catepillar room. And how they showed the kids doing all sorts of crazy things to buzz and the gang. Well thats all i have now but i plan on writing some stuff down the next time i watch it. So expect more...also i know this is a very far out there conspiracy but if you've seen the movie then perhaps you'll agree.

So why does the newsletter (28/03/10) have "old" ible's?

So I presume many of you who frequent the instructables site are all signed in to the newsletter. Now maybe you have noticed anything about the newsletter you got today but I have! And that is that the newsletter doesn't have any new ible's! I have been noticing that it has happend before so when I got the latest newsletter (28/03/10) I decided to investigate if I was right. I clicked on every ible that was in the newsletter and noticed that none of these ibles were created  in 2010! All the ibles were dated from December 2006 to december 2009! So my question is, why? I know there were some good ibles since the last newsletter. And many new ibles got featured every day! I have searched for some examples I find newsletter worthy and I would definitly go to the site if I saw these and didn't know them before: www.instructables.com/id/Pallet-Adirondack-Chair/ www.instructables.com/id/DIY-R2D2-Lamp-from-10-IKEA-lamp/ www.instructables.com/id/Red-Oak-Pyramid-Bow/ www.instructables.com/id/Leather-Steampunk-Top-Hat/ Just some examples from the top of my hat. I've been going through my emails and I noticed you send a newsletter the 25th (25/03/10) that did have alot of new ibles. So what is the problem? Did robot screw up the newsletter list or is there some sort of cycle going on? (first one with fresh ibles then one with old ones some people may not have found yet). I think you guys do great work keeping this site up and running and dealing with our problems so to make things clear this isn't hostile or anything. I was just wondering why you suddenly send a newsletter with old ibles when there are so many new good ones?

ARK, hologram community

Hello everyone ! I'm building a project, called "the ARK" : It is a holographic pyramid with a new type of interface who gives life to your projects. Holography has always been fascinating: you see your 3D, you work on it, and you can create directly with your hands. Today this type of holography is really expensive compared to the simplicity of its fabrication process. I want to give the possibility to use it for everyone. The Ark has a software suite. Your drawings, films, models, all in holograms and in 3D GPS augmented reality view, directly on your smartphone to walk in your creations. And more:  with the sensitive gloves it will be like feeling the 3D under your fingers. Films, 3D, drawings, you will be able to touch and feel all of it. THE STORY : This project started two years ago with some research in my architecture school; I created the first holographic reflector “Ark-mini” for the students of our school. This creation is now in open-source (for more information see HERE, you can translate the page) For this new project, I want to create the more intuitive, complete holographic software: you will just need an USB and HDMI connection and let’s go! Order, and the ARK will follow it with his speech recognition menu. I will present 3 softwares for the Ark:     The ARK-creator for your 3D creations     The ARK-movie: what you film is what you see… in holograms.     The ARK-net to send directly in augmented reality your project, to visit it with you tablet or smartphone. This project is a personal initiative that I have been developing since last year, thanks to the help of some forums and Internet’s people who follow me. Today I propose you to make this project a reality. The first Ark serie will be presented in Paris, at the “Futur-en-Seine” numeric convention in the “Gaité Lyrique” on 13th june, and at the end of june for my Diploma. The thing is, i want to build this project with a creative commons license (open-source), and i'm trying to build a community. For the moment, i make a simple design for the ARK, i will have six month to build the software. We can (i hope so), in the future, create something like a "Jarvis" (who do not dream about this :) ). For the moment, i'm finishing the file with the design and the prequel of the software (openframeworks). But you can register in the forum and i'will send you a newsletter when it will be done. I hope we can make something beautifull, and, it is not just an idea:  i am doing it (but i need you)! here the LINK of the project here the FORUM / COMMUNITY

Ancient technologies revisited - ancient "GPS"

This part is more theoretical but might be interesting anyway. To make this topic any interesting to you I have to assume you play with the idea of "alien" having visited earth in the past.If we check UFO sightings and map them like a nice man did for decades, then we find a weird thing appearing on a global map.It seems as if these UFO sightings are concentrated in various locations along a "grid".Some of this grid is the Ley Line system, a weak system of "lines" where certain energies act differently or where certain fields are detectable.Won't go into the magical part or why so many townships along those lines have names related to starts or constellations.Another part of the anicient GPS system is anomalies our earth provides, be it natural or "created" in the far distant past.I got interest after finding social media posts about an area claiming to have a messed up gravity in a very small area.Less than 100km away, so a nice bike ride with some testing stuff and off I went.Seeing a car appearing to roll uphill or balls seemingly doing the same is one thing, trying it yourself another.I did not notice any differences in weight or how the bike handled but I got a very weird "optical illusion" trying to tell my up is going down and the other way around.Did it in both directions several times with no change in this impression - even when focussing only on the spot in front of my wheel.time to invesigate further and to debunk some flaws other people made.Like how useless it is to use a self levelling laser level to "prove" nothing is wrong with gravity. If it is, then how would a self levelling device, depinding on gravity know? ;)Instead I did it dirt simple.Neon strings hung from lots of tree branches and twigs. If gravity is going nuts then those strings outside the affected area would hang at a different angle than the rest - they did not....Not even from a great distance, all just hanging perfectly straight and at the exact same angle.Ok, then, just an optical illusion due to the terrain after all....Last but not least I remembered my phone claims to have a gravity sensor and my watch has an altimeter and other sensors...The sensor test app did show some fluctuations but not any different to home or other places I tried.A bit more but IMHO not enough to justify any conclusion. However, my watch confused me.From what appeared to the bottom of Gravity Hill to the top I guesstimated a height difference of about 15m.My watch insisted every single time that when I reached the "top" that I was about 10m lower than at the bottom....Was a fun afternoon but I was no wiser in the end.Gravitational, magnetic and even geoligical anomalies are well mapped these days, same for undergroud lakes and water basins. Most of this data reached us from dedicated sensors on satellites in low earth orbit. If we have no troubles mapping them then it is safe to assume that a civilisation capable of inter stellar flight would be even more capable. And after god knows how long we finally even can measure the Ley Lines and no longer assume they are magical myths. All up it makes for very accurate system of navigation beacons that you can detect even if you approach on the night side. And since these locations on our continental soil as well as our ocean floors don't really change their positions it is highly accurate. If we say it is possible to use what earth, more or less naturally, provides to located any spot you like while still approaching earth from space - then what about more specific "markers"?We have the great wall, the pyramids, lines up stones from the stone age and then some things visible from space once you are in a good orbit. The ancient cities were often in what it today and already was back then, jungle. They must have stood out the same was as the pyramids - as huge clearings in the jungle with massive buildings. We also have all these nice animal figures in Peru.Too big to make sense from the ground, wrong angles to make sense from a great distance, unless you see them from above, or from orbit. All this was long shown to be coincidence, nothing to worry about or waste time on.But we learned this is not the case at all.The pyramids perfectly line up with the Bermuda triangle and ancient cites on the other side of the pond. From England to Rome you have a dead straight Ley Line and far too many are sitting right on top with unusal names.Attempts have been made over and over to use these existing references to find lost cities and more, quite often with success. We are very reluctant though to explore those signs pointing to the oceans...Finding just one of the mythical cities at a sea level matching the time period would mean that not just that myth might be true....I am not claiming I cracked the puzzle, just in case you wonder...Basically all ancient cities have mathy around them linking then to the gods, people from the stars.Even our cities following the Ley Lines are filled with these stories, be it the anient Greek, Romans or the great Kingdoms in Europe - the later all had their main residences right on the Ley line, some even on nodal points.Merlin was a great Wizard - or just some visitor with a far higher technology and knowledge of science...A very nice but somewhat very wrong theory claims the pyramids were actually build as huge power plants. You even find stories where it is (totally correct by the way!) calculated they could have been used as giant microwave transmitter to power starships in orbit like a recharge station....If that was the case then all identical pyramids, in terms of dimension would have been the same type of power station.Sadly they all seem to have only astronomical functions.Stonehenge is different, Rome is different, a lot of the old cities and temples are different. The thing common in all locations is Granite or even Diorite.Quarz is also heavy used in these locations throught ancient times. What do these materials have in common? For starters they are so hard, so durable that we struggle to work with them today unless we use diamond tipped tools.Even most carbide tools fail on Diorite...Secondly the fact they all have rather specific and organised crystalline structures. In some Indian temples this is even used to produced accurate and harmonic musical notes. If you want to build something that is certain to outlast your civilisation then you would choose these materials.Never mind the fact that the people in that time had no means to even scratch these hard rocks....A rather unusal approach to the problem started only less than 2 decades ago.Trying to measure more than dimensional properties of these creation, specifically these huge obelisk type "needles" of often hundret of tons in weight.Of course they could not really often use the real thing and to make do with smaller models they created.Key point was to match the exact type of rock from the same region as the big original, plus making sure the crystal structure is aligned in the same orientation. These guys first dicovered that these rock needles resonated at very specific acoustic frequencies.Nothing for most the spectrum but a very sharp amplitute amplification with little to no added harmonics for just a few tight frequencies. And yes, the max "elogation" was along the lenght of the needle with the tip acting almost like a resonator. The second and rather unexplainable thing was that these model sized needles also reacted to audi signals that did not came from a surface actuator but a normal speaker at close proximity.Did not stop them, just encourage them.It was not specified in the publication what higher band frequencies affected the rock but they claimed it acts like a high power amplifier for certain frequencies - with no detectable way where the excess energy comes from.If true it could mean that a lot of ancient structures we consider to be decorative could have actually been more like a lighthouse.Emitting a focussed beam of energy detectable from amost any approach angle when enterin our solar system. The thing you might now wonder about is: Why would highly advance civilisations need such beacons to begin with? This answer relates to the Apollo program - the Van Allen radiation belt, and some other strange things close to earth. The most significant other thing is our Ionosphere.Togeher they make radio transmissions next to impossible, only close to earth orbite, like where our satellites reside are in good enough reach.A long claim was that only certain frequencies can pass through these interference layers without losing too much energy or being distorted. Most of our planets emit a natural low frequency RF "signal".We can't detect them from earth though and used satellites and probes to measure and define them.Tesla's famous alien message was decades later calculated aginst these movements in regards to his location.Turned out he detected not aliens but the signals from two of our planets. Now this might be no big deal, I mean knowing it was not aliens after all, but it is in fact a huge deal!Tesla's receiver was only able to work in these impossible low frequencies that were claimed to be unable to pass through our interference layers!Much later we dicovered windows in these layers, even ways to caculate and predict their movements. It is now widely used to improve communications with our space probes and Mars missions. We still don't know if a suitable window was present for Tesla...If ancient civilisations or the gods visiting us for a while needed a way "to call home" or be called - what better way than using was is naturally there already? And it work the other way around as well.Send a strong enough and suitable signal to these structures and they would have to respond, maybe even in some audible form, no one really knows for sure it seems. My personal theory in terms of navigation and transmitting/receiving energy goes as follows and I hope you like it enough to make you own thought and conclusions:If we simply assume that certain anomalies or natural energies on earth are not just detectable but also usable it all could get a whole new meaning.Place a suitable object into an energy field and it can act as a "filter", an amplifier or as block.Like a Yagi antenna that you might find on your roof. What happens if have a theoretically endless conductor with a high frequency voltage going through? You have a very bad antenna of no use...But if you would place straight wires with a length matching the frequency you get a ton of small and powerful antennas....A bit simplyfied, I know but best example that came to mind to make a transition. If our Ley Lines and other form of natural energy phenomenon would provide energy to these ancient structures:What might happen if this "antenna" is just slightly out of tune and you "strike" it to produce a harmonic wave matching the energy going through?Right! You suddenly have a giant signal amplifier. And right again! You could actually try to send "signals" through the Ley Lines this way too.A harmonic wave would overlay the natural signal from the Ley Line and travel along it's path. Now the part you might not like at all, but it a key point of my own theory:If it is a natural energy that provides all this and we are able these days to detect these energies although we fail to understand, then where to they originate????If you poke your arm with a neeles then it hurts, poke a bit more and you bleed once you remove the needle, no one would do this for fun or even to get pleasure...Then why do we poke needles into our body, call it accupuncture and go home with such a happy face once the pain is gone???Guess you got my point already...It can't be denied that ancient civilisations already had a more than good understanding of things we onlydicovered or proved to exist thausands of years later.Even if we would exclude all godly and alien like things and just be ignorant and say that these folks knew the "body" earth" as good as a chinese accupuncture master would know your body and where to poke a few needles to heal you?If the energies are natural than our planet must produce them somehow, if you know how changes affect the planet you can "poke" it to get better - or to get much worse....Like the Butterfly Effect....You poke needle into Spain and in New Zealand you get a small earth quake....You poke a needle into Iceland and a temperature drop over atlantic makes the deveolping hurricane change curse to run out of steam over the ocean. You poke a needle into the right spot, stimulated properly and send a signal into outer space....If we can detect them easy from space, how strong would the energy level be if a burst of ALL the energy travels along the grid to combine in one single point?...How far could such a signal travel? How FAST would it travel considering no one, not even NASA dared to publish details about how exactly and what exactly was detected that matches these ancient old and till then just mystical energy lines and spots?A gravitational shockwave from an exploding star travels much faster than light....The ancient cultures of meaning knew exactly:Where the sun is in our milkyway, where our planets are at any giving time,at what angle our planets axis is, they even tracked this accurately, where exactly until recently unknown stars are within the Orion, Sirius and other constallations, when those stars where visible in the DAY or NIGHT sky,how exactly they moved when moved from earth AND how the position of earth relates the other way around, that there are Ley Lines, gravitational anomalies and more that we only learned to detect thausands of years later, about ALL the phsical, electrical and energy related properties of of suitable rocks and minerals,.....If they knew all this and we know that they did, why is so hard to believe they would have to have known that for a good reason, a purpose?I actuall don't care if they found all out themself, without knowing the wheel or the telescope...Neither if aliens, gods, people from the stars, visitors from another dimension or E.T. himself (herself, itself?) told them. But I cared for a long time about WHY humanity as a whole seemed to have forgotten all about his and how to use these unknown energies....So the final bit is not about my personal theories on ancient navigation, communication or energy usage. It is about the why it was lost...I make it a new chapter if you don't mind as it is not really about the GPS topic.

Composites! My recommended source for resins, glasses etc.

First, I am not affiliated with this company at all. But, the HPV team I am on has used this company as a supplier for glass and epoxy resin the past two years with excellent success :) Even the gentlemen from Lockheed Martin that has helped us greatly was pleased with the resin.http://www.uscomposites.com/ http://www.uscomposites.com/epoxy.html <-- the resin (their brand - west systems is great, just expensive)We used the medium hardener/epoxy which gave us a pot life around 20+ minutes at 75ish degrees F and cured overnight or so. I highly recommend the pump attachments to make measuring an exact science. With one exception, every batch we made came out perfect. That exception was a set of test samples that took four days under heat lamps to cure. We think that there wasn't enough hardener to kick properly. The stuff was used to make HPV fairings for the past two years with a K-mat core. The picture here is last year's fairing that got vacuum bagged.Funny story, the gentleman that assisted us (with his experience) apparently knows Burt Rattan - you know, the man that built SpaceShipOne. The window idea was just an off the cuff joke we had that eventually made its way into solid works and ProE -- and then when no other window design was thought up it was cut out :PWhen I remember where we got it, I'll post our source for Micro Balloons (air encapsulated in glass) and K-mat (square scored foam core backed with a very thin layer of glass weave).Going from memory - the fairing below used 3mm Kmat core with S-class woven glass (can't remember weight). We might have used E-class glass too (not sure) because we have a roll of it from last year. Flanges (not shown) are used to support the upper canopy in place. They are made from glass with a "coremat" core. The lower removable section also has a flange to hold screw bosses - this was made from the same "coremat" setup. The whole thing was layed up on a male plug that was made from Styrofoam that was cut on a waterjet in 1 inch thicknesses - glued together - sanded - filled - glassed (to get it nice and smooth) and then covered with a wax mold release. When everything was layed up, a vacuum bag was cut for it and I believed they pulled 10psi (they went higher and the foam started collapsing). Now you may think I'm sharing trade secrets or something. Maybe so - but the experience we had access to was so helpful (this stuff looks a lot easier than it really is). I'm told that enclosed rear wheel was pretty difficult -- and it got quite a bit of attention at the competition :PAs I find more pictures and videos from past projects -- I'll post what I've learned. If you have any questions, I'll try to answer. Just keep in mind I'm not an expert :PPS: Next time you ride Dr. Doom at Universal Studios, Orlando -- look up at the decorations and such on the ride. Our experienced friend did all of those - yes, those pyramid/circular thingamabobs are fiberglass (he still has the molds :P). He came in 100lbs underweight ;)

The ultimate challenge?

There are always good contests available for those keen on competing, but what about a real challenge that might run for many months? I am talking about rediscovering ancient technologies and ways of creating things. We have a lot of evidence that is in massive contrast to what archeologists want to make us believe. Be it the way the pyramids were build or just in what timeframe, the use of technologies thought to be impossible at that time or just the knowledge of things like star constellations that are not not visisble to the naked eye. In a lot of areas it seems not only archeologists but also some "secret powers" try to put a hold on discovering what was really possible thausands or maybe even millions of years ago. Things like the knowledge of distand star systems that are invisible to the naked eye might never find a suitable explanation. But what about tools and technologies used to create stonework that is hard if not impossible to create with our modern tools and technologies? I dare everyone to participate in the impossible! We know thausands of years ago milling, drilling, machining and lathe work was done but we have no real clue how it was done. At times when the rest of human kind was happy using stone tools and otherwise just hunt and gather for food some areas saw an explosion in technology. Within less than a few hundert years some builders in Egypt went from simple and explainable works to stuff impossible to do in today times. Same for India, the UK and the american continent. No hardend steel tools were ever found, no machines, no evidence on the how to, just the perfect work. Here is the challenge I propose: Come up with: 1. A way to cut or drill granite and harder rocks without modern tools or tech and still do it faster and more accurate. 2. A way to match hard rocks to each other with a precision down to less than a mm - as shown in many ancient buildings preferably on a big scale. 3. A way to create delicate carvings in hard rocks, things like hollow heads less than 5cm in size or cravings with spaces of less than 3mm wide and several cm deep - as shown in many India sculptures. 4. A way to build a lathe capable or turning several tons of steel with an accuracy better than half a mm and without electrical or combustion engines. 5. A feasable way to transport and accurately position several tons of stone - again without electricity or combustion engines. 6. A way to create sculptures with an accuracy shown by the ancient Egyptian ones, meaning perfection... 7. .... I could go on but I guess you get the picture ;) The solutions could be as simple as using sound and vibration or as complicated as finding a way to create tools hard and durable enough to proove the archeologists are right after all. And before you cry out that it is impossible: Consider the evidence! We know it was done but we don't know how, so let's show the world how we at Instructables solve the problems noone can explain ;) I can't offer any real contest, prices or such but maybe someone is reading this and willing to provide the base and soem prices?

UHF CB radio antennas or scanner antennas anyone?

For a while now I am back to experimenting with various antenna designs for my UHF radio.Started as something entirely different but who cares LOLAnyways, we usually have either a standard whip antenna or a vertical dipole design for mobile use, like on your car. This is a very good design for both types of antennas, mostly due to the short wavelenght compared to the "old" 2m or 27mHz CB radios.Fun fact for at least AU in this regard is that back in the day everyone jumped onto UHF to get away from the overfilled chatter on 27MHz, now the old 2m band is basically dead except for marine use.One thing I really miss on UHF though is distance!Line of sight communication sounds fine at first but then you really have to realise the limits once out and about. As a result we often have to choose between a high gain antenna or a stubby for going into the mountains or being in a convoy.Only way out seems to be the golden middle by opting for one of the 4.5 - 6-5DBI antennas.Neither solution really satisfies me though :(To get around the limitations and have some fun again when sitting high on a mountain I compared various commercial antennas I had.You know, pick someone with a weak signal coming in and hope he hears you and has some time for a chat.Turned out there is not really that much difference in terms of receiving a signal.Quite huge differences though when it comes to the other side being able to hear you!So I jumped onto a basic SWR meter and actually checked my so called factory tuned antennas - all but one were way off the charts here.At least if you are like me and like optimised instead of compromised antenna systems.A Standing Wave Reflection ratio of 1:2 or even 1:2.5 is seen as very acceptable thing on UHF for some weird reason.Back in my glory days no one I knew would have accepted anything above 1:1.3 for his 27MHz system, be it mobil or a station at home.Sure enough, repeating my long distance tests a few days later with tuned antennas resulted in far better results. An antenna for long distance calls or emergencies?!The easiest way to get more distance on UHF is obviously getting the antenna as high as possible. From a nice mountain top you have it way easier than in any urban areas for example.Explains why so many of the long and sturdy antennas are just simple dipoles on a long pole.If you ever checked the feedback for these double quad TV antennas you realise they are literally in the same frequency range.Similar story for all the Yagi antennas for our TV sets that you find on so many roofs these days.Only problem with them is that they usually don't give a damn about transmitting qualities. And of course that they are usually providing around 300Ohm instead of the 50Ohm our radio expects.A TV needs 75Ohm and a balun is used to provide a isolation as well as a matching for the TV.Needless to say I could not accept this ;)My first design was made from aluminium foil glued onto some printed and stiched pages for a double quad.1MHz bandwidth is quite narrow, so the basic square design with about 13.8cm for the sides of the squares was easy.To my surprise by just adding standard RG58 cable this design was very close to 50Ohm already, I had around 60.A few glue sessions later I was able to match it to 52Ohm - close enough for test.Did not want to risk anything with my expensive Icom so I used my cheap Baofeng handheld for the initial tests.Indoor mind you...To me disappointment I seemed to be unable to pick up anything. So let the sanner run and waited...After being bored enough I decided to pick, starting with the antenna and when I moved it the handheld suddenly had a clear signal.Desperate as I was I grabbed the radio and waited for the chat to continue - nothing again...Then it finally hit me: The double quad is quite directional....Sure enough by just turning it slowly I was able to pick up chatter on various channels.Once brave enough to risk it I even got confirmation that people about 10km away could hear me just fine.Time to scale it up a notch...Next design already had the directional problem included as a design feature.I added a director in the front and a reflector in the back. The endless hours of glueing and cutting were replaced by using 12mm wide copper tape and sturdier cardboard.A test with my car on a little "mountain" and the antenna on 2m pole mounted to roof rack gave me, for the first time ever, conversations with people that were over 30km away.I am currently trying to make the entire thing omnidirectional. The omni quad....If you take two double quad antennas and mount them at a 90° angle you end up with very nice 2-lobe pattern, 4 lobes if you don't use a reflector.Problem here though is that these designs really mess with your antenna matching. Not to mention that using it while driving only works at quite low speeds. One day I will do the final design in stainless steel wire though...Anyways, using the directional properties to get an omnidirection radiation pattern meant using 4 seperate antennas with a reflector for each of them.Still left a few dark spots at short range but otherwise really nice for long distance if you don't want to constantly turn your antenna.Getting 4 antennas down to 50Ohm on the connection to the cable was painful to say the least. The problem of taking care of distances to be in the sweet spot for the 477MHz range also meant the design ended up to be quite bulky. One of my lightbulb moments providing good ideas caused me to use one reflector with a double quad either side.Worked almost fine but again provided totally different values to somehow match if it ever should transmit a signal without damaging the transmitter.Obvious conclusion was to buy a new roll of copper tape and to try to get four single antennas into one "housing" without stacking them.Bad idea here was to cross the antennas :(Better idea was to make 4 pyramids out of carboard and aluminium foil.Sadly this resulted in a failure because the 4 sides of the pyramid reflect the signal not flat bt at their corresponding angles.Had to make it really big and use 90° angles, resulting in the signal being reflected like light in these cat-eye reflectors on your bike. After wasting a few days to create the real thing it turned out to not really work properly for the reception already.Even close range signals came in really distorted.I guess the double reflection meant the phase is shifting and cancelling out what the antenna gets.My last desing idea for testing will be with a different approach.Instead of 1/4 Lambda elements I will use small 1/64 Lambda elements.Only about 2cm long means that matching is pain in the behind but if the purpose is just receiving it should be fine. The reflector will be four flat sides like a box with antennas in front of the sides and the cables joined in the center. If you like to fiddle with antennas and don't mind trying a weird looking base antenna on your roof I might be willing to write up a short Instructable based on my designs - let me know in the comments....By the way: it is quite easy to desing this for the common 2.4GHz Wifi bands ;)

What do humans *need* to know? (Edited OP)

Without a core set of really basic skills, civilisation is impossible. What do we really, as human beings, need to know in order to maintain a healthy, happy, stable society?I don't mean "how to solder" or "how to change a tyre", but really basic, grass-roots skills. You may be wondering where this question came from, but I was inspired by the Long Now Foundation's concept of future deep-time storage and its Digital Dark-Age Blog. So, let's have your ideas - list skills we need to preserve, in any area of expertise. If you can, provide a reference as well - a link or the name of a book....and maybe we'll inspire a few Instructables as well.Another thing to think about as well - how could we store this information in an enduring, millenia-stable way?I recently voiced my fears to the team involved in The Clock of the Long Now, and they agreed:...I cannot help but think, though, that something is missing. What is missing is hard copy. The Long Viewer and Long Server will only work as long as we are able to maintain power to the computer network that supports them.If humanity loses the ability to generate electricity, these projects will be lost.Even if the loss is short-term, a few years following some global disaster, then there will be a huge loss of information - knowledge and skills will die with those that know them. Those skills - even things as basic as farming and obtaining metals from the raw materials - need to be preserved in a way that will outlast any traditional or foreseeable computer network. It needs to be recorded in a form as unmistakeably monumental as the Pyramids or Stonehenge, but even more durable, and in ways less obscure.Indeed, I picture "the ultimate hard copy" to be henge-like in nature - strong, metres-high slabs of a material such as titanium or a durable glass. Arranged in a spiral or labyrinth pathway, the first slabs will have the most basic skills explained in pictographic forms, images of farming and metalwork, carpentry and building, hunting and weaving, with times of year shown with icons of Sun and Moon.More and more detailed information would be encountered in a variety of languages as people find the need to venture deeper and deeper into the monument.Glassmaking, pottery, medicines, animal husbandry, generating electricity, navigation, brewing and distilling, no skill should be considered too basic to be included, and it would be impossible for a single individual such as myself to even begin to list all the subject areas that would need to be covered, or even to decide what order they should be recorded. What is clear to me, though, is the need for this permanent archive, something that would enable humanity to bring itself back from some unknowable future disaster, at least to the level of being able to preserve and extend life through surgical and chemical techniques, to feed significant populations and to travel and communicate long distances with relative ease and efficiency. It is also clear that there should be more than one of these archives - humans, being only human, could easily go to war to control a single archive, and fate, being fickle, could also ensure that a single archive could be destroyed by whatever catastrophe also reduced humanity to the point of needing its help.RegardsIn reply, they pointed me towards their Digital Dark Age blog, but that is not what I meant - they are talking about saving files. Skills are different, especially the kind of ground-up skills I'm talking about. If I google for "How to Make Iron", what I get are lots of references to "How to make Iron Oxide" and "How to make Iron-on transfers".What I do not get is a clear link to the knowledge I need to be able to turn a pile of brown rocks into metallic iron using only what I can find or make from what I find. Come the comet, though, that's the skill-set I'll need.Amazon is no better at coming up with paper books on the subject.Heretical though it sounds, even this website is not what is needed, simply because it is digital in nature. Come the comet, off goes the power and this entire, wonderful edifice vanishes with the dot on the CRT.Somewhere, somehow, we need to gather these skills into a huge and durable text book. With copies. The questions are, of course, what is stored, where, how, and who pays for it?

Linear magnetmotor - the basics for a beginner

Designing what is said to be impossible can be tricky, so I will try to give you some tips to reach your goal a bit quicker.A lot of people these days try to start with a wheel.Makes sense in one way as the final goal obviously is something that would rotate. However, considering angles in a rotating system is far easier with a usable baseline! We developed the liear motor well after any rotating electric motor. But only because someone already invented it for us.Making it flat was then more or less about finding a need for it first, like the modern highspeed trains on a maglev principle. If you want to make something move then it makes no big difference if you do it in flat or round.Flat however leaves you more options and much easier adjustments. And you will need a lot of the later...IMHO the best size and option for linear is the N0 model railway system.Tracks are only 3CM wide and second hand carriages to salvage the wheels is cheap.Either way, how would you start? We have multiple choices, like single row of magnets or double, maybe even tripple.Same for the actual magnet orientation.Flat, angled, attracting or repulsing...They all work if you understand how they actually work. Not the principle, the magnets ;)You see, a magnet always has two poles and without trickery both poles will be of even strenght, size, angle to each other and so on.Playing on a small and flat track with little resistance allows to use tiny magnets, like 5mm disc ones.If you follow the common concept of two magnet rows either side at a slight angle then you are half way there.People spent a lot of time trying not only to let the cart being attracted by the first magnets but also to let them pass out at the other end.In case you wonder why:Being able to be "sucked" in means you will have some force pulling on your cart from the next stage.Being able to fully pass through and preferably gain speed, means the cart would go from one set of magnets to the next - motion is accomplished.Let me give you my personal favourites for 5mm disc magnets:1. The rows are at an angle of 4-5° like a slim V-shape.2. Same as above by with the orientation changed by 90°The first basically means you have the magnets facing up while in the second you would have them mounted vertically. Both have good and bad sides and I think it is easiest to start with the first option. Here you would have a row of magnets at a slight angle either side of the track.Lets say it is all pointing away from you, then the north row would be left, south row on the right of the track. If you start narrow or wide depends if you want attraction or repulsion forces to work with.Again, it makes no big difference really, just a different way of operation, most seem to prefer repulsion though thinking the forces are greater - this is not true though ;)A very often copied way of mounting the working magnet (s) on the cart is by placing a magnet with south facing down on the left and one with north facing down on the right of the cart. Here you have the big problem of manipulating fields. The forces are quite strong and it seems the obvious choice but should be left for the advanced classes.Let me try to explain:No matter the site of your work magnet it has a very narrow acting field.Means you have a lot of attraction forces going only downwards and not providing any energy to move your system ;)If you orientate a magnet (stack) so north faces to the right and south to the left on either side of the cart you have more options. If the stack or single magnet has the correct length to match the angle of the magnet rows then a funny thing happens.Assume the outer most magnet is at about the same distance from center as the first magnet in the row.Means the inner most and opposing one is further away and the attraction forces gain the upper hand. While moving along though it moves away from the magnet row and whie still gaining force the last magnet in the row stops the cart dead center. This is the common scenario you see on the web when people try and fail. Now if you change the length of your working magnet and position in relation to the magnets in the row you can use the changes to your advantage. You can add slim disc magnets either side of your stack and observe the change in behaviour and where the cart starts to be repelled or gets stuck. In a bad case it starts fast but then stops with a big wobble back and forth. The perfect balance and size means the cart is attracted once it comes close to the magnet rows. There should only be a tiny sopt of very little repulsion right before the cart takes off.Like a hair trigger on a good gun if you know what I mean.It should then see some accelleration till about magnet 5-7 in a row of 14.From there it should level out and roll trough and keep rolling.I assume your first attempts now get you to the point where you cart start really nice, slows down a bit and seems just to miss a tiny extra push to make it out.It it shoots to the last magnet in the rows and then settles back to one or two before the end you are close! We have now two basic ways of manipulating the magnetic fields in our favour, or to "cheat" phsyics.Closing the gap.You will have realised by now that you need at least two stages for your system to be tested properly.Preferably 3 to get a 120° angle in a rotary conversion, but 5 would make sure there is hickups. This also means distance is now something to play with.Remember the pull before get at the same level with the first magnet in the rows? This is the first force we utilise by bringing the second stage at a distance CLOSE to take over the pull.Close because we don't want it to pull the cart out just like that.It would create a big "bump" and in a rotary system massive and unwanted vibrations.Instead we weaken the last magnet in either row.We still want to keep its pull but not so much the holding force that makes our cart go stuck here.Placing a magnet orientated in the same direction as your rows at the end of the row will change how and where the field of the last magnet in the row goes ;)Just to be precise: If the magnet in the row is north up and south down then the added magnet should have the poles 90° to that and in the same direction as the row.Depending how high, how close and with wich pole you place it the fields will change. You want to lower the locking force by at least 50% here - that will be suffient to overcome the holding force and gives the next stage a good chance to take over.It can also help to provide a sacrificial pole below the last magnet in the row.Again if north would be facing up then the lower magnet would also face north up but with a small distance to the upper manget.Ok, what happens here exactly? If I would want to be precise here you would need to read an awful lot, so make it simple...The lower magnet provides a way for the upper magnets south pole to get somewhere else instead of back to its original north pole.It also means there is another north pole "pushing" the north of the upper magnet more flat at the bottom half. This weakens the field strenght.Distance is key.The added magnet at the end does a similar thing. It provides attraction or repulsion forces that affect the field shape of the last magnet in the row.Imagine you have north facing towards the last magnet:You would push the last bit of the field up while also providing a very sharp end instead of a big round shape. The south pole of the last magnet also gets attracted by this added magnet, even more with one magnet below it.With those two added magnets you should be able to fully overcome the binding effect stopping your cart.It won't start and keep going when you let go of it half way down the track though, you need to start with the first magnet or give it a push to overcome the first binding effect. After that momentum takes over.If it really is that simple then where are all the successful videos about it?They are out there, you just need to look quite long for them. Most people still literally think only linear.A magnet has north and south and we can't change it - but we can...With field manipulations as above and shielding we get so much more than what physics currently dictates.Keep in mind that adding shielding under your rows of magnets will also affect how all works together ;)Some people forget this when using ferromagnetic things way too close to their testing area.Distance is also vital to keep in mind when experimenting. The closer two magnets are greater their forces to each other. You can utilise this for example by lowering magnets that seem to be far too strong in your configuration and cause a binding effect ;)And as said, shielding is nice thing for triack too - imagine what would happen with sielding on the sides of your magnet rows... ;)Make a negative into a positive!Extremly strong binding forces at a certain point in your track design can mean you might be able to utilise it instead of trying to waste it.Added magnets can divert the field to quite some extend.Shielding however can also direct them somewhere else - like in the core of a transformer where it all goes in a great circle.Even strips of shielding connecting magnets from one row to the one on the other side of the track can be utilised.Like that you turn two small magnets into one long one with twisted poles at the end.Provides more field strenght too and makes it good for areas with little to no attracting force to the cart. Then there is bigger design...Some people add a center magnet. With one on the cart and one in the center of the track you can create a cancellation field. The rows bind while the center magnet wants to push.If place where there is still enough forward momentum or even acceleration but close enough to the binding magnets it is possible to greatly lower the binding effect. But keep in mind you need to consider the added repulsion or compensated the field so it is most active towards the moving direction and less strong to where the cart is coming from.Advanced manipulations. You can machine magnets, sandpaper, file, grinder, CNC....Imagine you cut a square dice magnet from one corner to the other.Depending on how you have the field orientation you can end up several variations. But if north faced up in your dice then it will still face up in the cut pieces!Cut a pyramid and you end with a big flat south pole and a pointy north pole - and with extreme field strenth in this pointy bit.Similar story with half moon shapes.Imagine you machine a flat block magnet so you have a half moon with its pointy bits facing down and big round bit up.If north was up in the block and you shape the moon correctly then you end with two strong south pole points and a north pole that is strongest right between those points. Why is this so interesting you might wonder?Imagine you already know a magnets pole does not care if gos back to its own opposite or that of a different magnet. Then you also know you can machine and shape magnets to your will. Now imagine that for a change:Precisely machined pyramids that have the top chopped off.All tops in this example facing being the north poles and big bottom south. If you then machine a precise iron core block you make a nice cube. With magnets we need really good glue and a good press to make it happen. But if the center core is of proper size then we end with a block magnet that has a south pole on all sides.Of course to be 100% perfect we would need a zero tolerance gap but good glue and high forces can come quite close.Works as a sphere too but would even have clue where to start to machine the magnets LOL

Ancient technologies revisited - being one with nature

Talking about aliens, gods, higher beings and such is almost unavoidable when it come to examples of technology from a time when did not even have the brains to think in the regions required. But we need to find some substitute for the word god and gods. The ancient text provide us with "people from the sky" or "people from the stars".With our modern brains and understanding of advanced technologies we have to think about astronauts and visitors from other planets. It is just the way our brains are wired now.Ancient technology however also includes the most basic technologies and techniques that we either don't know or that got lost through time.I would like to give some examples that show that with a bit of research outside "aliens" people can come up with amasing discoveries. You can find ancient stone walls that look like their individual blocks were cut with a gigantic laser scalpel and then finished with a nice soft rounding. And those "bumps" found on only some of these blocks are said by our archeologists to have been used to place them - but of course they can't provide and answer how they were placed.Experts in their fields analysed the rock and found no evidence of the heat a laser would create.Although they did not consider fempto second lasers...And they also discarded the theory the ancient people used some big bags and "cement" that turned into rock - it is natural rock...However they found several and quick quick ways to dissolve and soften the rock. All with "ingredients" naturally occuring in the area.Like an acedic mud mix that would dissolve the calcium in the rock and even some more aggressive solutions working much quicker.Tests performed indicate it would only take about two weeks to make blocks covered in this slurry to move together with an airtight fit.Once in contact there is no slurry left on the surface and once the fit and surface fiish is satisfactory you just wash the remains off with water...A lot of ancient ruins or even the pyramids show extreme accuracy.Archeologists came with up with a lot of horse manure but never with anything explaining how the ancient builder were able to plan these structures. After all you can just made a crude drawing and get in some case millimeter precision.Especially measuring the height of a big structure was said to be impossible for these simple folks, so they must have had gods or aliens to guide them.Maybe they really provided some home schooling but in reality the task is not that hard.Imagine you would the big pyrmids in Aegypt. You would be god like and only the pharao would be above you.No wonder then that you knew once finished you would find your final resting place inside...Being the smart kid you are you of course properly marked where the center would be and in which direction the sides would face....And you would not just "know" that, you would have a detailed plan to construct it and the required more or less permanent markers on the ground.Like in todays times you would start with the right foundations. So, no matter what you would always have very accurate refence points on the ground through the build process.Means you can quite easy measure the distance from any given point on the ground to where the center of your foundations would be.If you then place someone on the top and center of your current progress you can also measure the distance to that point with the same accuracy.Wives you triangle with a 90° angle....I know you know say I would still need a half decent calculator to use thelengths and angle to come with the height - but do I?a² + b² = c² Sounds familiar from your ancient days in school? ;)You have c and one of the other two, so for example c² - b² would give you a²And my grandfather told me stories about his apprenticship where he used tables ans slide rulers to do math like this.So why wouldn't these ancient builders know these things that are just based on properly understand a circle? ;)Advanced machining skills....Many example on how people in ancient times might have cut through several meters granite exist.Be it ropes with a sand slurry or using discardable wooden slates with heavy weights on them with such a slurry. But when it comes to drilling long and perfect holes the best thing people seem to come up with is again aliens and their advanced tech. You could drill through granite by other means though and still get really nice drill marks....For example by acoustic vibration - a thing te ancient aegypts were good at.Some people liked to demonstrate how acoustic frequency can do impossible things. The measured the resonant frequency of a granit block. In a way that they could create node where the hole was supposed to start.Means you experiment with the transducer until you get a max response at the desired location.Like magic a copper pipe with a supporting slurry and slow rotation started to "drill" into the block. At some point and due to the change of shape and loss of material the node was no longer strong enough for the effect and the frequency had to be adjusted, then the pipe kept drilling a bit further. The resulting marks on the walls of that hole almost perfectly matched the marks of ancient holes, including those on the leftover core bits.If you now say the ancient eagypts had no means to create powerful enough transducer then please check the collecting of oversized "tuning forks" several of our museums have. Some even with strings still attached between the two short ends, some models where several forks are tied together with these very strong cords.Strong after hundreds of years...Many were tested and all had very specific and accurace frequencies with the long end of the pitch fork being at the perfect length for a mac amplitude.Check how ultrasonic horn work for inducers ;)I could continue with many more examples but I think you got the idea here. Not everything we can't explain has to be alien of some highly advanced technology, often it is so dead simple that we just would never consider to look in this direction.A trout appears to be able to be basically motionless in a very fast flowing river. You can see they are able to "rest" as well as their breathing is very slow - no signs of movement, no energy use, how do they do this?A trout does not swim through the water, the water pulls it.Only if the water is not moving or is not moving right towards the trout it has to swim.Clearly indicated when you check show fast they have move to swim down the fast river. They should be able to just float down and only move to keep their heading....In reality however the water constantly tries to turn them around - like this nice directional arrow on your weather station on the roof...A resting fish in a river will always directly face the current and you will never really see them seeking a calm region behind some big rock or such.Put a trout in a tank with no current you will have a hard time seeing it standing still in it....Vortexes, harmonics and geometry are nature.Nature does not like straight lines or shortcuts and certainly has no clue about higher math.Still it is only higher math and computer simulations that allow us to understand a lot of things nature does by design.Maybe our ancient cousins did not get any technological help at all from higher beings.Maybe they were just shown how to use nature and the energies it provides. We are bound to science and math. With that we try to explore and understand things we can only theorise about. If in doubt with particle accelerators....Is there a difference to what we call science and math today to what was the purpose or religion only a few hundred years ago?We try to explain and utilise things for integration that we actually have no real clue about ;)What if the approach is the wrong one?Try to calculat how the next layer of a shell from a snail would look like, how thick it needs to be.You evening would be filled while the snail does not even have enough brain cells to comprehend your problem with it.If math would be based on a true and unbisaed observation of nature and the universe we would have the universal language the bible states we once had ....Our math has fundamental flaws otherwise we would have no problem at all to calculate the vortex structure and behavior of a tornado or water vortex. And of course we would not need a claculator to get from the radius of a circle to its circumfence - we would know as naturally as we know know that 2 times 3 equals 6.It will be subject of another part of this series ;)

Mono pole / single pole magnets!?

I made a quite intersting discovery today. The use of mixed orientations for a stronger or more directed field on one side and a much weaker on the other side of a magnet is nothing new. But if you check modern wind turbines or even just any old hard drive you find "chokes". I talked about shielding before but combining shielding a choking provides again another level of manipulation. If you ask anyone who claims to know magentic field or sience in general then you right away hear: There is no such thing as magnet with just a single pole!Like a battery one pole can't exist without the other!Keep going and your conversation parten either get angry or declares you a nut case. Also said before: The laws of nature and physics are not set in stone or complete for that matter! We only use what we know, or to be precise what we told to take as facts.A magnet with just one pole is impossible to manufacture, if you only think like making the magnet like any other magnet.Even cutting it in half will only give you two normal magnets again. Why is that so?How are magnets made is what you need to know.No matter the material they start as a blank and during the final processing an intense electromagnetic field is used to "prime" them.Like you would do on a screwdriver the material then keeps the "charge" and becomes magnetic. And this process requires a certain orientation.Imagine a big hydraulic press to make the magnet with some super strong electromagnets right beside the forms.Explains why you won't find a block magnet with the poles on opposing corners - the form is not designed to be rotated ;)Ferrite magnets can often be machined. If you mark the field direction of a block then you could just cut it into the shape you need.Like a half moon, triangle, pyramid...The orientation does not change, so you need to create the cuts so your required orientation matches the orignal block.Creates a lot of waste, is messy and often the magnets shatter.Still not possible to create a mono pole ;)But it allows for a great deal of field manipulations. For example a thick north and a thin south pole would show very different field strengths at the poles. How to create a mono or single pole magnet then??If you think outside modern science restraints it is suprisingly easy! You see, unlike a battery the magnet does not care if the "current" flows back to its own pole or a pole from a different magnet. In a hard drive the choked magnets have a field strength between them that is not just twice as much as th one from a single magnet. The field between the magnets is very stable too!No matter where you measure it is the same.Place two magnets in the same configuration with the choke and all you get between them is a mess.To understand the reality with magnets I need to explain a bit more though:If it does not matter from where to where the field lines go the it becomes obvious that you can guide them.Horse shoe magnets of the old kind where just two steel bars with a block magnet between them!Take a compass and check from what distance your magnet will start to affect the orientation. Now take two iron bars, rods, block or similar of about twice that length.Place the compass between one end and the magnet between the other end.Even with a little gap your compass will still move! You just extended the length of the field lines and directed them somewhere else as it also works with odd shapes. We know know and confirmed how choking works and as shielding is basically the same thing but for a different purpose you might get an idea where I am heading already.A "potted" magnet, like what you find in a speaker or as a hook magnet utilises two destinct features.a) A ring magnet is used.b) The field lines are directed to a specific area. One has them directed into a gap for a coil like in a wind turbine, the other to the surface to massively increase the field strenght in that area.If you take either apart you will notice the magnet just by itself is considerably weaker.Removing a pole from a magnet...If you paid attention so far and have a few magnets around then you already developed a feeling for the difference.Lets crank it up a notch, shall we?Make this experiment:Take two identical magnets and a soft steel bar or similar of lesser thickness than the magnets.Usually around 2-3mm for smaller N52 Neodymiums will do.If you dare make the steel the same size as the magnets. Now place one magnet on the steel and use the other to observe the difference in feel. There won't be much and both poles should still fell like before only that the field is now slightly longer.Trying to get two magnets to touch at the same pole is really hard, but see what happens if you add the other magnet on the other side of the steel...Despite having the same pole on the steel they won't repel and stick to the steel.Checking the field now with a magnet provides a very different feel!It is like having a magnet with a split pole where the opposing pole now is in the center.Impossible I know but you have it in your hand, so deal with the explanation yourself ;)And if that is so damn easy then how hard can it be to actually remove one pole fully?Design of the impossible magnet...If you want the south pole only then it would be the entire surface of your impossible magnet. That means you either need to make sacrifices or get creative for the next steps.Easiest from my experiments is to sacrifice like all scientists do and allow for some minor gaps.I won't give any dimension or step by step instructions.Think 3D and use your imagination. Our impossible magnet starts from the center. All magnets used should provide the same field strenght! To be precise it means no matter their grade, the the "force" of the magnets should be as close to identical as possible even if the size is different. You can use stacks or different types/grades...The center is a square block of soft steel, or iron as pure as possible - it needs to have a low "resistance" if you compare them to batteries and to avoid confusing terms. On this "dice" you place one magnet on each face, preferably of identical size to the block. So, for a 10x10mm block you use 10x10mm magnets -simple isn't it.All magnets are place with the same pole onto the block! In out example to get the south pole outside you would use the north pole. Now use six bigger magnet blocks for another layer. This time they are placed in attraction mode, meaning you let them stick together naturally. The resulting magnet will be far from perfect but you will have a hard time finding a strong attraction to the soth pole of a magnet if you move it around your cube.If you check the geometry you will now see how 45° degree angles and matching sizes for the blocks would be beneficial.Using ferrite magnets you can machine them to the desired size and use a thin aluminium or breass frame to hold the outside properly together, like edging on a fancy tranport box or chest.Check the magnet now and try to find anything else but a destict south pole on all faces and corners. No more nother pole....Does that mean it really is a mono or single pole magnet?Since modern science does not even consider a construction like this to be worth testing you already know the anser. For those working on a different level with magnets it will be a true single pole magnet. For the rest it will just be another fake.As by science a permanent magnet is defined to have two poles and to have field lines going from one pole to the other. All modern machines using them operate on this principle and "fact".But if I would give you a block of steel that has a core of lets say brass and a suffien wall thickness...Then this block would appear to be a steel block and nothing else.Modern science fails to see a magnet any other than a battery! If the "current" does not need to go back to same pole and there is no need for the field lines to go back to the outside pole then it is a single ple magnet like the faked box is a steel box.The physical outcome or in our case magnetic field is what defines it!The contra...All good has some bad, magnets are no different.Purely scientific viewed it would be impossible to create a gap free magnet like I described. And because never all field lines will take the shortcut there will still be a small amount of "north pole" to be found on the outside. But if that is in the range of about 1% of the field strength of the magnet then I say it can be neglected for almost all real life uses of such a magnet.Like the Halbach Array it is just a neat way of manipulating and if you like bending the known interpretation of our scientific understanding.Possible uses for these magnets exclude convention designs and for this reason alone anything you create with them will be the target of scepticism to say it nice.Ok then, what real life uses could there be for something we never needed? The question is the answer, as the impossible magnet is the solution.Ever watched these shopping shows in the night program?"It solves problems you didn't even know you might get..."Means that if you ever get the ide that your project requires a single pole magnet then you know how to make one ;)All I can up with would go against common scientific understanding and teachings, so I will spare you with my use cases ;)And what is missing here to actually make it work?Quite a lot as you might have noticed in your experiments if you use really good test equippment. Not so much however if you consider what I said about shielding and choking ;)Provide a path of far less resistance and shield the rest that still bothers you.I am not providing a ready to go model here that you can buy, someone else will do that if they see a financial gain it.My gain is provide a new understanding of things we forgot by giving your brain things to work with and develop. You might still say in the end that my way (or your results) are not good enough in some way.But then please also consider how many other people or documents you might be able to find that would have provided you with this information.Free energy is only a myth for as along as we allow ourselfs to only trust what modern science allows us to have.Allow the old knowledge in and every now and then simple ignore what you know and things become possible sooner than you might think.Wind and water were used as a source of free energy since the dawn of mankind. Our first motorised boats used the same "wheels" we already trusted to be driven by water to power a mill, saw or similar. And after we learned about motors we also found a way to make wind - by reversing our trusted wind mills into a fan.Instead of using the free energy to generate power for us we evolved to use create wind and propulsion by providing power to drive the same thin in reverse.Using the sun for power other by using a mirror was seen as witchcraft throughout history, then we got solar cells...Same for heat in the form of peltier elements and other things...Why then should magnets be any different??Just "Because it is so!" did not work for wind, water and solar, not even for heat....All it takes is a little notch in the right direction to change the way we think about magnets. We have no problem using electromagnets to make a motor spin.We have no problem using magnetic field of any kind to drive motors or generate electricity. We even fail to have a problem by manipulation electromagnetic fields for that purpose. But we struggle like an ant in sand hole to reach the surface again to see what is outside our trap before something grabs us from behind when it comes to permanent magnets.Even worse if you dare to claim your magnetic machine delivers a higher output energy than what you use to make it run.And wasn't it exactly the same ignorance and manifested "knowledge" that got revised so many times throughout history already?Again: Why should magnets or their understanding of interaction be any different? If you follow the above with just matching magnets and the core cube then the result will be at least very surprising to you.Allow this surprise to be an inspiration to improve instead of seeing as a proof of failure ;)And if you made it then please post about it here.Let me know what disappointed you with the outcome.Let me know what really got you wondering.Let me know if you found a suffiently strong north pole to rival the impossible southpole! ;)Start sharing, make other people wonder and make them share it to, let us go viral! The first to post a conclusive Youtube video with results is certain to get a lot, lot, lot attention....

Ancient technologies revisited - Ancient math

You can not have technology without math a fact not too many people would deny.At a certain level you just need a common ground to get from an adie to reality, even if it just a simple measuring tape. When it comes to math we have two major players in the game today. The metric system and then what the other people use ;)Jokes aside they both have their merits and they both come from similar origins. What they both lack though is literally anything that is not a straight line.As soon as it comes to something round, harmonic, free flowing or just with a complex geometry we utterly fail.It is like running aorund the barn, climing up a rope to squeeze through a thight hole to get inside. While all you had o do in reality is to open the damn barn door to get in ;)Ancient cultures used different way to tell the time of the day or day of the year. And when it comes to defining lenght that had everything but a common ground. For some it was how long some piece of wood was.So you want a plank of "4 meters" but order from someone out of town - his "4 meters" might be less than half of you need.Despite all these local differences though they managed to build and create with astounding accuracy. To calculate the movement of your solar system and other stars you need quite complex math - today. In ancient times people were able to just this without a compunter or wasting weeks or endless calculations....How did they do it?Nicola Tesla had a glimps of how nature really works.Despite never making any real documentations to create his invention he made one big exception. The circle of math.A simple thing on paper with lots of lines, numbers and spirals. You can find several copies and remakes with your favourite search engine, I prefer Duckduckgo. He used this circle to promote new ways of doing math in lots of schools and universites. With great success I might add.Sadly all this ended when he was discredited and died as a poor man.So, what then is so different between our modern math and ancient of nature's math?We are based on the decimal system mean we use 10 numbers for everything. Our first computer only knew two - 0 and 1.A bit later they used not just bits but also bytes and words- 8, 16, 32,64, ...If you break all this down then it comes down to evolution in terms of how in netures you go from one single cell to a complete human being. One make two, two make four, four become 8, 8 become 16, then 32, 64, 128 - you see the computer here and why it is more efficient that the math we learn in school?A computer does not count to 10 and start over...Our current math uses shortcuts and walkarounds to get to the finish. It made a lot of sense in the early days but has certainly long reached the limits of use.If we understood that a computer needs to go from a single bit to a byte like nature then what about the rest of the numbers nature uses and that most likely our ancient cousins used?To really explain it I need to involve our alien friends again. If we agree they would be resonsible for all things from UFO's, over technology and down to building entire cities:Someone would have to know about it and most like have or had contact.Ancient texts more than confirm all this through myths and legends. Now imagine you would like to influence the evolution of an entire race ove thausands of years. How could you make sure they reach a very high level but will never be able to "break the seventh seal" to reach your level?Of course in a way that this civilisation would never find out or consider...You limit its capablility to understand math!Despite having the solution right in front of our eyes from a single atom, over a ceel multiplication down to sunflowers and vortexes - we only march in 10 digit steps and won't ever consider to just dance aorund with the music playing...It really makes no sense to use 10 numbers! The day has 24 hours - 2 times 12, 12 hours for the DAY 12 for the NIGHT part.Eggs come in a dozen or 12 again. Not even the moon is "digital" and ancient calendars were highly accurate while our way of defining days weeks and such resulted in a total chaos requiring complex calculations. In ancient times it was all beased on how nature does it.The gregorian calendar changed this and if you check for the "excuse" why we suddenly had for forget all about lunar calendars you might be surprised.Fair enough but how could you convince an entire civilisation to forget all about real math and learn something way to complicated?USE YOUR FINGERS! ;) Yes, by pure coincidence our math system is based on how mand FINGERS we have. Not hands, not eays, not legs, fingers.Literally any other part of our body would have made more sense, at least you can get from 2 to 4 then to 8 and soon realise you are one with nature again.Simple, genius, unbreakable - show me one little kid in school that never tried to use the finger to do help with math....How many number does nature use then?Just nine. And for good reason there is no zero as we know it.The scam works so perfectly because all that was required was to teach us to not jump from 9 back to 1 but instead to add a zero to make it 10.Every time we go past the nine in the sequence we add a 0 and once that is done we add a diget and make it a 1 again. As a result and with no escape from it our math creates numbers that go bigger and bigger until they are too complex to handle with just our brains - we get the help of a computer using a similar flawed system that is at least faster.Nine numbers only - how do you use them? You can't apply our understanding of math to a system that does not know zero as we do.But I will try anyway in the best way I can.Take the computer sequence again: 1, 2, 4, 8, 16, 32, 64, 128, 256, 512, 1024, 2048, 4096, ...There is a thing often just refered to being a party trick. It is the simplification of a multi digit number into a single diget one.In reality though a reamins of our knowledge how math really worked. You simply add all digets and if you still get more than a single one you repeat until you have just one.Let's try to reverty our embryo back to how nature created it b using the above numbers for this simple trick:1, 2, 4, 8, 7 (1+6), 5, 1, 2, 4, 8, 7, 5, 1, 2, 4, 8, 7, 5, 1, 2, 4, 8, 7, 5....I guess you see the pattern by now ;)Try for yourself! It always breaks down to 1 2 4 8 7 5 ! And if we have no real zero then there are only three numbers left: 3, 6, 9 .If create a circle and instead of going from 12 to 12 like on a clock you go from 9 to 9 you have the basic circle model. From the 9 on top go to 12345678.A pie with 9 slices if you need helping marking, but you can just devide the circle in 40° pieces.Draw a triangle between the 3, 6 an 9 - it should almost look like a sideview of a pyramid. Now draw lines in sequenc with the remaining numbers.Go from the 1 to the 2, then to the 4 and so on.Looks rather symmetrical with a "twist, like butterfly wings if you like. You can perform all basic math with just this circular concept. You only need to know how 3, 6 and 9 have other "meanings" and that there is no zero.Too bad we are no longer wired to think like this - but you could learn it (again).Higher math seems to be impossible though.Oh! Why no zero you ask?Well nature does not know "off" or nothing - all start with a single thing and in the end goes back to just that.Nothing is wasted...If you now would try to implemt PI into our circle we could try it dead simple. We multiply it with the numbers of the circle and add the result as a vector from the center through the corresponding number. If we would now connect the end points of these vectors and interpolated the stuff between them we get a very nice spiral. As we have no zero we also have no 10 and seem stuck at 9...But 10 times PI over the 1 still gives us the right result...In either case you could now enlarge or shrink this sprial any equal (x-y) way you like and the only thing changing the true result is the lenght of the vector. For a circle you don't care if the diameter is 2 meters or 5 kirdigs, you only need to know the vector - the definition of lenght relates to it, PI....Ok, but how could you do harmonic things like the change from day to night or a soundwave?Look to asia and simply draw the Yin Yang symbol insde your circle.Preferably rotated so the two small circle are orientated vertically.Going back to our simplification of the large numbers but using the remaining there:They are very special as they from a triangle - the proximation of a cricle with just three lines.Take any multiple of these numbers and you always come back to them through the above decimal intergation process. And it perfectly goes along with our nature.(Keep in mind real values like time or meter are just vectors here!)12 hours come down to the number 3, 24 hours turn into 6 18 hours into 9...If noon is 9 you would have a pretty nifty way to tell time precisely and the 3 and 6 would mark the turning points - or amplitude reversal....And if you now dare to color in the Yin Yang symbol slightly differently you end up with two sine waves that cancel each other out ;)Use Yin and Yang at the right enlargement (vector for lenght, time) and turn it to the correct number(s) (rotational vector) and you could do complex calculations with pen and paper that are accurate enough to build a ball bearing from the drawings and measurements - and bearings have tight tolerances.Go further and explore how our natural sequences like the Fabanucci Sequence or just the golden ration can be placed correctly in the circle and how it changes and simplifies relationships ;)Suddenly it becomes clear why our know laws of physics have such simple equations to explain them. The all deal with just linear things.Becomes painfully clear when you try to do math for a pendulum.Put down to the pure basics it eventuall becomes clear that weight does not matter for a pendulum (ideal), not even how great the amplitude is.The time it needs for a full swing only depends on gravity and lenght of the rope.....A force and vector....We did realise this at some stage at university but only after going painfully long hours of calculating all sorts of things to distract us from this simple fact. With the claim that it is needed to fully understand it LOLWe can't find the missing laws of physiscs because our math is flawed and does not allow for harmony and resonance - it is not a circle, it is a line getting longer and longer. If we do find them we will either re-invent math or use the most complex formulas you can think of to get results.Ok then, but why was this math secret hidden from us?Once you realise that you have 6 numbers representiong "evolution" or "progress" and 3 numbers that define how it all cycles in sync and harmony you can help but wonder how far this system goes.Nature and the universe is everywhere from sub atomic size to our galaxy...What drives life or evolution? Energy....Which means 3. 6. and 9 stand for the three universal forms of energy and their sum at the same time.Remember! NO ZERO, Remember! Yin Yang, no end, no beginning, always equal, always opposite.Real power comes from REAL knowledge and what you make with it.Is there an easy way to re-learn this forgotten math so it can be used for things as complex as calculating how a comet travels through space? Not really as we would first have to forget almost everything we know about math in terms of calculations with numbers result in more numbers. What we can do thoug is open our eyes and observe.Nature is all around us and we just need to learn again that nature knows it best. When you see a pretty flower look behind the flower, see the symmetry and harmony in the design.See how the number of petals relate or simply start counting with sunflowers to decipher why this design of seed placement is so perfect. The more you really see the more you will understand how it fits together using numbers. We had huge cities long before we lived in caves if we can accept that humanity is much older than what we think we won't reject true math anymore...

The Middle East and the Global Hackerspace Movement

Please follow me and imagine this. You're in a city and are taking a rattling train somewhere to the edge of town. The buildings get shorter as they get wider. You are entering the industrial area where the jobs dried up long ago. Where there are more broken windows than whole ones in each building. You pass the streets your parents warned you about and a street covered in "DO NOT CROSS" tape. Two stops later you get off at the stop your friends told you about questioning your sanity and wondering why your friends brought you out there. The graffiti is beautiful though, and somewhere in the distance you can hear the thump of heavy bass. The address your friend gave you can't be right, you look up and see a massive complex thankfully this one seemed to have more of it's windows intact. You push the rusting door noticing the rough texture and surprising heft. You walk in and see a roughly refinished hallway. The drywall isn't yet painted but it appears that this massive factory has been transformed on the inside. You pass a few drywalled off artists studios on the first floor and they smile at you with plaster in their hair. It smells like lavender and you notice you just passed an artist making candles. The "hackerspace" your friend told you about is on the second floor. So you walk to the cargo elevator and push the call button. It makes a horrifying rattling sound as it descends to meet you, instead of a door it has a grate. You take it up and as it slowly moves you can see concrete, then wood and suddenly the thumping bass get's louder - Hello Skrillex. It's too much to take in at first, you only notice the chaos. There are tools everywhere and in every state of operation. A wall of computer monitors lines the back wall. There's someone binding books in the corner, and what appears to be a viking with knitting needles sitting in what appears to be a lounge, he looks up and smiles at you and says "welcome to Scrumspace*!" you've arrived at your first hackerspace. Notice an open basket of dollar bills and place a 2 dollar donation in the basket near the fridge and grab yourself a drink from the fridge in the kitchen. You walk into a common area painted like a scene from Super Mario with what appear to be server racks painted as the tubes. Finally you see your friend. He walks in with a scorched shirt and you see his eyes twinkling through the welding goggles. "Told you this place is awesome!" he says. Hackerspace Values and Culture Hackerspaces like this exist almost all over the world. These places collect (and perhaps helps inspire) people who are passionate initiators. Walking into one you might find someone who wants to share a new iPad application which monitors the GPS on the weather balloon they've released -"It's over //CHINA// right now!!". People in hackerspaces are happy to share, it's a part of the culture! Interacting with them is often uplifting and inspiring. They are building and creating things they think is amazing. They may be playing with technology or science or art without concern for the categories. The only apparent question they ask themselves is how AWESOME is this!? It's a contagious atmosphere of capability where people learn from each other constantly. They can't help it! People are so passionate about what they are doing, they inadvertently teach. The other feature of a hackerspace which is more important is that they give people a venue. It's an open space that is owned by the members. Need a place to host a workshop on hat felting, it's yours! Need a place to build the first prototype of your product? Just make sure you pack it in the lockers when you're done working on it! The atmosphere is fundamentally collaborative. It can't be anything except participatory because of the way the spaces are most often organized and run. There is no single owner. Everyone pays for a portion of the rent, and more importantly everyone brings something new to the table. They might bring with them a new tool, their coffee machine, a desire to set up a program to run a STEM program for children. The spaces become a snapshot the local community of amazing people and their projects. Many of these people started developing their projects during their final years in university. But their is a gap between a school project and feeling capable to take it and turn it into something yourself. I'd love to start here. With these fresh graduates. These young people who (perhaps not coincidentally) are also the driving force behind the revolutions of the middle east. This is a great place to start. These are the young people changing their countries today. They feel empowered to change long standing traditions and the culture of oppression in their governments. Perhaps it's also time to give them the tools to do the same for their local communities. Where they have the ability to have a more direct impact. Who the heck cares about the government if you are free to repave your roads, create alternative energy from solar power, clean your own water and start your own online webstore distributing products that are rapidly prototyped and drop shipped to other places around the world. Sure you might call this line of reasoning anarchistic. But when the systems around you are falling apart, banding together to pick up the pieces is the admirable thing to do. Social entrepreneurship in the states often focuses on countries outside the states. They basically act as for profit NGOs. Non profit organizations as they operate in America don't exist in the middle east. Thus I'm beginning to think that the concept of social entrepreneurship might just be a great way forward for these countries. Doing well by doing good! This concept is a development hack, and one that could possibly have it's roots in the Hackerspace scene. There are features of hackerspaces that I see can give rise to more DIY social entrepreneurship in the middle east. They are: 1) The culture of good. Make something wonderful. Share it with others online and off. Be inspired and inspiring. 2) The availability of tools along with the docracy culture. If you want to see it, do it. 3) A supportive global and local community which has within it stories of other successes to emulate. Where does this culture come from? It appears to be derived from the open source movement. Open source technology is often spearheaded by a few individuals but is maintained, built and supported by a global community of makers who want the tech for themselves as well. Do you want to see that feature? Write it? But don't edit the program and keep it to yourself! Share! That's a doocracy combined with the culture of sharing that the internet helps so much to support. All of this seems to be directed by the common value for people of all ideologies. The golden rule. Do for others as you wish to have done for yourself. Do you want free tools. Freedom. Access to clean water? A cheap space to build projects? Free vector drawing software? Be a doer. Be a part of the change. And then share with others. Your vision is what makes the future. These are some of the amazing features of these spaces. This is why I am in love with hackerspaces, open source technology and makers of all types. They are beautiful people who come from all types of backgrounds who get together to create a culture of sharing and collaboration that enhances their local communities and connects them globally. If you have not visited your local hackerspace yet, visit it. If you live in a place without a space, put your name up on hackerspaces.org, I'm sure you will find like minded people who crave this type of community. Hackerspaces in the Middle East Now that we have described hacker culture and hackerspaces can a space like this become a the hub and home of amazing people in the Middle East? Does the west have a monopoly on awesome. Absolutely not. Are middle easterners creative Heck yes! Are they inspired to work collaboratively? Heck yes! Are they educated? Heck yes! Do they want to fix the problems they see around them? Heck YES! Are they powerful? Heck YES! Again and again I've seen example after example of the young people in the middle east (yes, those that are 30% unemployed) showcasing example after example of incredible projects. And talking to them a message I hear over and over is that they want to show the world that in Beirut, Baghdad, or Cairo things other than violence is created. They want to create positive news that goes out to the world. They want to reach out to the world and participate in sharing! Here's a short list of incredible people I've met personally in my two short trips to the middle east: Bassam Jalgha Tarek Ahmed Ahmed Tohamy Salma Adel Rami Ali's Smart Breadboard Marc Farra Maya Kreidieh Cairo Hackerspace Book Scanner Project An awesome home automation system in Baghdad Iraq Mustafa Elnagar Furkan Alp Pehlivan Hind Hobeika's Butterfleye Project Jad Berro's Tank Robot Mounir Zoorob Octocopter! Here's a video of Munir's octocopter: Beirut is beautiful:   One incredible graduation project by Cairo Hackerspace organizer Salma Adel is one that focuses on the very heart of the maker movement and looks at the artisan as the creator of value. How do you take new design, match it with old technology and create amazing new products. I'm proud to know she's an active memeber at Cairo Hackerspace:  I hope I have shown you that there are already "hackers", makers and entrepreneurs there in the middle east. People with the open source attitude Arabs with the culture of sharing and collaboration. There are many here that work with the Google Technology User Groups or other open source initiatives. Linux user groups. Tons of coworking spaces. And some incredible incubators and entrepreneurship cultural development projects. Android phones are more popular in Egypt than the iPhone from my own small survey. It might have initially started as a cost issue has turned into a passion with Ubuntu, firefox, Android and other open source technologies really taking off. A few things were missing though. If you read hacker news you will begin to think that anyone with a desire to make foursquare mashups is an entrepreneur. In the middle east we have incredibly skilled people languishing after college while their counter parts in the west are out attempting to recreate Facebook. Why?! I think it has to do with the lack of proper story telling about entrepreneurship in the Middle East. Wamda seems to be helping greatly in that regard, but we need more publications talking about this issue! This also comes in concert with an inability to find cofounders. Why? A lack of collaboration? Why? A lack of self initiated projects? Solution? Do stuff. Just do it. Where? Here. At your local hackerspace. Do you have an interesting idea you want to try? A drone to take ariel pictures of the pyramids? Or a service like Utlub which delivers soap to bathers who are wet and realize they ran out of soap. Well in a space like a hackerspace you can do it! The tools are there. But more importantly you will find collaborators! People who are willing to jump on board to help!al Patterns of Propagation The Arab world is not just ready for Hacker culture, hacker culture is already there. My work with GEMSI is simply to connect the right people together and showcase the awesome possibilities hackerspace afford their communities and attempt to create the right environment to allow these amazing people to take their own future into their hands like they already are, but to do it not only politically, but financially, and with direct community education and organizing. Before I went to the middle east I was privileged to participate in the rise of the hackerspace movement in the United States. In 2007 there were very few (if any self identified) hackerspaces in the United States. That same year Mitch Altman, Bre Pettis, and Nick Farr went on a trip to Germany visiting the hackerspaces that were there. Being filled with inspiration and the realization that these spaces were created by PEOPLE who wanted to set them up. They came back to the states and started Noisebridge, NYCResistor and HacDC respectively. Due to the culture of sharing, they started putting up projects online. They shared the process of creating these spaces. And slowly at first people started noticing that they too could start their own local community spaces for creation and we started seeing them grow rapidly. The mathematical name of the function that describes this type of growth is exponential. The more spaces that existed that have this culture of sharing the more people heard about them and wanted them in their own cities. Then something wonderful happened. The economy collapsed in 2008 which had two very positive effects on the development of hackerspaces:  People were freed from their jobs  Space was becoming cheap as tons of manufacturing facilities were abandoned. Check out this chart which shows the rapid growth of hackerspaces and the acceleration around 2008/9. Hacker culture is an attitude that anything can be done by any resource available. MacGyver will make you a mouse trap from your sunglasses and your underpants. A hacker would use it to make a one way privacy screen for your cellphone. But how do you transmit a culture? This is why a space is so important. Having a place where people can sit with others and recognize the possibilities. To see the value in the stuff they know, to share it with others and to build together. The first few hackerspaces that are being set up in the middle east have the same property of viral transmission as we saw in America. Istanbul Hackerspace and Base Istanbul are both hackerspaces in Turkey. Istanbul Hackerspace being in the European part and Base Istanbul in asian section. As widely spread apart as they are, they both have something in common. Both founders had visited a hackerspace, one in Japan and the other in Germany before coming home and deciding they wanted to start one there. It's kind of incredible to see the same pattern repeat in the middle east. This appears to be a universal need, the need for community, creativity and having a open space to build your future. The pattern has been proven in Egypt as well. Alexandria's hackerspace initiative was galvanized after a delegation of students visited  Cairo Hackerspace two hours to the south. It's exciting to see the very same forces at work that took the hackerspaces from being a concept barely known to having a large impact on the American Entrepreneurial and cultural landscape in five short years years at work in Egypt. Cairo Hackerspace currently is without their space but is actively seeking a new one and it's one of my current goals to help in any way I can. Let's conclude with the list of hackerspaces just starting up in Egypt and Beirut. This is just the start. Keep an eye on these guys and know that there will be many many more to come: Egypt: Cairo Hackerspace El Minya Hackerspace Alexandria Hackerspace Mansoura Hackerspace Egypt Fablab (Same idea ;) Lebanon: Beirut Hackerspace (link coming soon) If you'd like to talk more about the global development of hackerspaces. Let's continue talking online at GEMSI's facbebook group. *Scrumspace does not exist as a hackerspace. If you like the name take it!

Ancient technologies revisited - drilling and machining

In the ruins of our ancient world we often see exceptional accuracy for surfaces but also clear indications of machining work that should have been impossible back then,For quite a few of these impossibilities modern scientists, inventors and people that just like to experiment came up with plausible conclusions. So let's start with a few of them...Core drilling...It is a process were a rather large hole is not actually drilled but cut out.Imagine a piece of pipe you press into some clay - that's what you end up with.A circular, deep hole with a standing core inside, break the core off and you are good to go.Doing this with copper or brass tools as the only available metal tools seems feasable. If it is something soft like sand stone but for things like granite???Ancient texts provided some clues, like that slow spinning tubes were used or that drilling a 2m deep hole did only take a few hours.Appearently it was done in less than half a day - a day being daylight.Modern diamond drilling tools would still struggle to create such a deep hole in that time unless you pay a fortune for a custom made drill bit.One clue that was nagging these people for a long times was how it was possible to reach these high penetration speeds. The marks on core samplesand holes clearly show and almost spiral pattern, indicating the "drill" went deeper by a few mm with just a few rotations of the drill. The calculated pressure required to do this is about equal to having a tank parked on top of your drill....Impossible I know...Hammer drill differences give us another clue here.Take you homedepot drill that can drill in metal and stone - it runs fast and although it does the job the tradesmen tool does it better. Not because it is way more expensive but because it is purpose made by running slower but with a much more powerfull impact for the drill bit.How do you create a massive impact with copper or brass? Those who tried a copper drill will tell you they are no good for anything. Those who tried a copper core drill will tell you the same.Too soft, deforms too quickly, no "teeth" that last for more than a few seconds. But is that really true???These soft metals seem to have a feature that makes them special: They can be "work hardened".Like the top end of your cold chisel "peeling"...Of course the harness levels you can achieve are still very short of being even like soft steel.Every material has a resonant frequency, even hard rock like granite.A technique called sonic drilling utilises this as an advantage. The drill is subjected to an audio signal that is very close or matching a harmonic frequency of the rock in question. There is even nice Youtube videos showing how two stones are flattened against each other just with loudspeakers and some wire to hold them together. The same guy posted videos showing that core drilling is possible this way too.The science behind it is still not a 100% understood though.Several universities did their own experiments here and here are some of the more modern explanations why it works despite being impossible:The vibrations cause surface fractures on contact, a bit like when your dentist cleans your teeth with this screaming thing...The contact surface of the drill actually does not do any impact damage, it simply acts as a transducer horn for the vibrations. In their tests it was even confirmed that steel tools are no good here as the material would mean you need very long tools due to the resonant nodes forming differently in denser material. Most interesting was that these aido drills can be literally of any shape you like. Not hard to create a fancy symbol shape from copper pipe - and then to vibrate it into the surface to create writing....Several ancient cultures show clear tooling marks in their carved symbol creations while others seemed to have "melted" the symbol into the rock - audio only ;)Extreme accuracy for planar faces....Be it the walls of an ancient "coffin", box or chamber, we can find a lot of them with an accuracy that even today we would fail to achieve.A solid granit like block with a perfectly square box cut out of it.Several examples exist where the accuracy couldn't be done with modern tools at all.Less than 0.5% divergence from true parallel walls and corners with a rounded inner edge with a radius of less than 2mm....Audio machining is not feasable for this one.And with literally no surface marks scientists were baffled for decades.Due to the size it would mean that for a tiny error you would have to re-do the entire surface of the affected wall. And with a surface so highly polished that even after a few tausand years it still reflects light....Samples taken showed another conundrum - glacing...Almost as if the stone was melted, pressed flat and then repeated until the entire surface was done. The temperautres required for this however are said to be impossible in ancient times, same for any tools capable of tolerating such heat without melting. So this theory was discarded for a very long time and deemed to be interpretation error - after all they had no chance to do this thausands of years ago.Later it was discovered that you actually can use two identically hard stone surfaces to grind them perfectly flat against each other. And well, using the right, mild abbresives it is even possible to give the surface a nice shine.Yes, the theory is sound but can't explain how one would machine the corners like this....The inside of a square or rectangular box can't be produced like this.Plus the problem of actually removing all the unwanted material first. In recent years the old samples taken were subject to new studies, this time in regards to the possibility that the surface was polished using heat.Surprisingly a mix of high temps and cold water allows for quite accurated destruction of the surface.Relatively easy to remove some bumps by just heating the bump and spraying a mist of cold water over it.Still not possible to create perfect corners but a start. It failed to reproduce the shine and polished surface too. Then, as a last resort you might say, lasers were used on rocks of similar or identical composition. The classic CO2 laser is a brute force tool and although accuracy would be possible you wouldn't get a good surface as it does not melt, it just cracks like glass.Femto second lasers were great here but could not provide any glacing effect either.Problem was always that the stone could not soak up any of the laser energy. It would not heat up evenly, only very locally where the laser was hitting the surface and no depth either. Then they finally got the idea to use tiny samples in a wide laser beam.A wavelength more suited to heat rather than vaporise and energy levels per mm² much, much lower than in a focussed beam.No problem to actually fully melt the sample without create any cracks or to adjust the parameters so the core still remains solid for a true glazing effect.Funny side effect of fully molten samples were their extreme surface hardness - very similar to what we find in ancient leftovers we can't explain. On bigger samples two effects were observed.Firstly that of a flat surface with the sample being rather thick, a too fast cooling down would result in the entire surface that was heated to split off.Secondly that the resulting surface was still extremely flat and even.Sadly we can not find any real evidence that ancient cultures knew about how to use high energy lasers with adjustable focus....And so far no one was able to come up with any theory that explains ALL the features of a perfect stone box with polished surfaced, especially if the surfaced is glaced. The ancient lathe....We can see the evidence of large boulders machined on some gigantic lathe through the ancient world, especially in greece and the middle east. And so far the best archeologists could come up with was that some guy sat there for days hammering the surface until a template provided a perfect fit. What they failed to explain was how this guy did this in a true rotary fashion. But the beauty of archeology is that these guys can claim what they like without being required to provide backing of their claims - not their territory OLIn several places we found leftovers of contraptions deemed to be the remains of some grinding mechanism to make flour or maby fine powder from rocks for mortar. But every mill needs a mlling stone - they were never found anywhere. And if the "mount" that remains clearly indicates it was able to be moved in the X and Y direction it would have been a very strange flour mill indeed. In the real world you would only have to move the grinding stone up and even that is mostly optional. The real clue however is how complicated it would have been to collect the flour. No one wants to use a broom to get it off the floor in a desert environment....With the wearmarks on the bottom stone it would have been impossible to produce flour, so why would it have been used for decades more if the flour was no good anyway?Again, outsiders provided vital clues by creating small models of these ancient "flour mills".The ground around them shows wear marks identical to someone running in a circle since the dawn of time.At quite a distance to the center I might add.If horses or cows were used to go in said circle with a harness you could spin quite some weight - like a round piller stone. And the bottom "pan" could be filled with fine sand or similar to act as a rudimentary bearing. The rounded bottom and indentation on the top of ancient piller stones seems suddenly more plausible to be the result of these "flour mills" - they self centered the block for machining.Push your tool(s) against the surface and make sure they keep the tension, then sit back and watch the animals do the hard work for you.Nothing fancy about it, just a vertical lathe driven by animals instead of a big motor and gear box...Won't explain though how some cultures were able to create perfectly round pillars of 20 or more meters in length in one piece....In many places we can observe impossible fitments, like a lid on a stone box that won't even require a sealant to be perfectly air tight.Or in India and other parts of the east intricate stone figurines that are hollowed out - with carved details on the inside. So not just some holes and simple cavities, more like 3D printed.Several experts of their fields, from artists over stone masons to jewlery makers tried to re-create some of these features using modern tools - they all failed badly. You simply can't use a rotating tool if you need to get around several corners to reach the surface to be machined. So how were the ancient builders and artists able to do the impossible? Some say that ancient texts and images tell us that the stone was melted away, like bee's wax.The glacing effect on these surfaces seems to confirm this but we all know you can't melt rock, especially not in a controlled way to create artwork.Rock is not ice - or is it?High frequency ultrasonic machining allows us to work with very hard rock, like cutting through butter with a hot knife. No sharp tools required either. The only problem is that you need very hard tools with a high tensile strenght and "good acoustics" - like titanium as the prefered option in the industry for ultrasonic horns and amplifiers. They did not have titanium in the ancient world and they certainly did not have power outlet to drive some ultrasonic tools. But they did know their acoustics as the "musical temple" in India shows.Hit a pillar, some plate or even statue and they all produce a very accurate frequency, despite the entire temple being carved out of one solid mountain piece...You can not create this today even if you had a clue how to carve it out of the mountain!!No way to create delicated designs that all have individual but extreme accurate musical notes when hit...Means the ancient builder must have known about the way sound travels through solid materials and how it is reflected inside them - otherwise hitting a statue would also make other things in the temple swing....Imagine that it was known how to produce the required frequencies to basically weaken the crystal structure of a rock exactly where you want it to weaken. You would have a rock-shaver of sorts. You could not use it though as it would be a huge thing.Theory is the ancient builder worked the opposite way instead.Making the entire rock or even mountain swing at a perfectly matched resonant frequency that produces a peak right where you need to work.A bit like going a dentist that no longer uses a rotating and screaming drill on your bad tooth, instead you sit in a fast rotating chair ;)Lab experiments clearly showed it is possible on a small scale with our modern technology.Tungsten-Carbide already in the ancient world?Electron microscopy claims to have found evidence of substances embedded in the machined surface that have similar properties to our modern carbides.Of course every alien theorists jumped right on it and claimed that had help from extra terrestrials. But is it really as simple as someone coming down from the stars to give some ancient builder a more than modern tool?He wouldn't have a clue how to use it, how to power it, he would need a teacher and power source. What some of these alien nut crackers missed is the simple fact that a lot of really hard materials can be created by the most basic means.Thermite is still widely used and produces quite good steel, all you need is iron oxide and aluminium powder. With sand you can even make your own silicium metal is you like on the beach....Where the knowelde for such things and more originated might remain a mystery but we have evidence the ancient guys knew quite a bit about ores and oxides, so why is it so hard to think they accidentially or intentionally tried to melt them into tools or art pieces? And then suddenly something goes up up in flames and some shiny and really metal appears when cooled down....We also know the ancient people knew about several acids and how to make them from scratch, even how to concentrate them. Not soo hard anymore to create some waste products that are of no other use to you than to be used as grinding materials and abbresives....As said, it is unclear where the knowledge or idea come from, all we know they had the know how.Where did the ancient tools go?We can still find tools in the pyramids in tiny and no longer accessible areas - at least no human fits in there anymore. We also found clear indications of iron oxides embedded in stone surfaces, predominantly in holes and such.So they might have had iron or even steel around the same time we though they only had copper and brass, big deal...Well, it kinda is...Especially Japan showed us how metallurgy is carried on as a vital tradion into todays times. From selecting the raw material for the melting, over the entire melting process, down to discarding most of the results by just looking at them - an understanding we modern people no longer have. And the swordsmith again only takes those sample where he can see already how they work together when he heats them up and hammers them.Especially the secret knowledge how to iclude impurities, remove them and what natural and most basic additions need to be added is something even modern science fails at.A bit of leafs from this plant, some dirt from that region, some burnt wood and suddenly the resulting steel won't rust anymore, is more ductile and hard at the same time...But you would need this kind of attention when you create tools. For steel you want a certain hardness, flexibility or ability to flex without breaking quickly to avoid fatigue. In most cases these steels are anything except resistant to corrosion. Most tool steels of the older days needed to be kept well oiled or they would rust away quickly.Chrome and other hard to come by elements gave our modern steel the stainless effect. From the ancinet world we know of iron statues and pillars that produce a protective rust layer of just a few microns but no further rust damage. You wouldn't be able to create this without generations of experts refining the process and observing how well or badly it works out.Would you take your expensive tools that might taken weeks to manufacture at a job site with thausands of slaves? Certainly not, you taken them home with them and slep with them under your pillow....No surprise then that we could never find any "good" tools around ancient ruins.Once a town is build today you won't find the tools of the tradies still sitting around either...Is this evidence?Nope, the failure to find high quality tools from builders does not mean they existed.Finding evidence of modern alloys or steels just in abbrasesion or tool marks is no good either. It could be from someone at a later time simply following these marks with a more modern metal tools, like a steel needle. For every evidence here there is also evidence of where the evidence can't come from.Again science clashes with archeology and history without being able to agree or compromise to provide a conclusion that is acceptable by both sides.Only materials designed and created to last throughout history will survive thausands of years of exposure to the elements. We might find real and undeniable evidence one day in lost cities on the ocean's floors, till then though....

Ancient technologies revisited - the ATOM

Imagine a great war or battle. These days it means you imagine devastating weapons and huge destructions in a short period of time. But what would you imagine for a great war that happened about 4000 years ago, or some that happened over 10.000 years ago?Bow and arrow maybe? Some metal blades and axes if you are lucky?Anything that could make a big band is out of the question if we trust history and the timing for inventing black powder...Mohenjo-Daro is one of many ancient ruins that have been found and studied.According to mainstream science the city was abandoned due to some climate change or maybe a change in trade.Later excavation found skelletons in the streets, holding hands...Certainly a sudden and unexpected end for those found. But why are those skelletons still intact after well over 4000 years and show no signs of decay?Or why is it that predators still avoid the entire area?Further tests quickly revealed elevated background radiation - a nice term for saying there is radiactivity but we don't know why.Outside the area level drop to normal. The estimated 4000 years is based on carbon dating other things found in the area as the skelletons themself returned "inconclusive" results.A process called vitrification can be observed through the area on rocks, walls, and everything "rock".The material or at least surface was heated to melting point, lava and then cooled down again.Resulting in a glacing effect.Ancient Indian texts speak of a time of great war around 5000 years ago.Close enough for many to consider the time matches the ending time of Mohenjo-Daro and other ancient cities in the region. In those text a weapon was used that created a fireball thausands of times brigther than the sun that swirled upwards. The earth was rumbling even hundreds of miles away.People how saw it happen shortly after lost their hair and fingernails, developed painful blisters and died shortly after.Tell the same story to a modern human and he say it was radiation exposure from a nuclear explosion...The same almost identical stories can be found in other ancient texts, the oldest dating back over 50.000 years for the time of war(s).But we know humans definately had no clue how to make gun poweder, a cannon, let alone how to create a critical mass for a nuclear explosion....If no humans then who else?Carbon dating at those sites often provide totally different results. One piece shows for example 4000 years and another found close by shows well over 10.000 years of age.Considering the architecture, capabilities of humans at that time and assumed mental (brain) development, mainstrea historians tell us that humans could not have designed and planned those big cities.Apart from not having the required tools for the stone work and transport. In archeology people like to say that the deeper you dig, the older the stuff you find.If the same is true for these ancient cities than those dated relics from the deepest ground put Mohenjo-Daro at approximately 12.000 before Jesus was walking around...That would implicate that there was a thriving city for about 8000 years!!! until it suddenly got superheated, and exposed to radiation....And Mohenjo-Dara is only one of many cities in the region and even more with identical "marks" from around the same time can be found all around the world...The ancient text always refer to gods, higher beings or those coming from the stars as the ones at war with those below on the surface being collateral damage....Ok, let's assume we humble humans were not as evolved as some other humans we have not found through digging yet.According to the mainstream that wouldn't work because we already "know" how old the human race is and where it originated. And then there is this old GOD problem....Most ancient cultures and religions speak of more than one god, usually at least three are known throughout ancient texts with many refering to large numbers, like the greek, Hindu and even Romans. The bible make a big exception, same for the religions based on the same old topic. There is only one god.If so then why did he say "WE" when speaking about who created humans and "OUR" when refering to what image is used for the appearance of humans?Moses was an Israelite send by his mother onto the river to prevent being killed as a first born by the pharao. But when you check who fathered Moses you again find a god who had sex with a human female.God himself however never had sex with humans....Still Moses was his big favourite and got all the help needed, including food and water in the desert for 40 years....When a sinful city was burnt to the ground and a woman decided to stop and watch against strong advise not to look back she turned to salt.If a human body is exposed to intense heat and radiation it decomposes to ask - you turn into a pile of white ash that could be mistaken for salt when the wind makes it crumble and fly away.Especially considering that those who saw it must have turned around as well and they could not have done that without turning to "salt" unless it was all over or they were far enough away. Some say the god from the bible indeed use atomic weapons on humans for punishment...Nice stories, nice "evidence" if you interpret it the way you like - I know.Thing is that mainstream science and historians can't come up with any theory that is more feasable and does not rely on literally every text only refering to events in mataphers or by mythifying it.Once you have to interpret translations of ancient texts so they must exclude all acknowledgment of higher technology you are hinding something....Personally I accepted for many years that there are people out there with a strong desire to make everything (im)possible to look like the work of aliens. But the more time I wasted trying to completely disprove what I strongly trusted to be bogus, the more I struggled myself. Some things just fail to add up once you look at them with a wider field of view and a lot more references than what single texts and publications can offer.Once you start to accept that some "facts" we learn in school or through studying at a fancy university can be correct you start to question even more. For lots of things I found plausible explanations, workarounds and even basic ways to design things just using a compass and ruler.Still a lot of things failed to add up no matter how I tried and how willing I was to accept that someone used a bronze chisel and a stone or copper hammer to create 1000 metric ton obelisk....It was sometime in 1992 I think when I found documents that revealed the true accuracy on some of the ancient contructions.Be it the great pyramids or just granite staris in south america....Like some household bowls granite or even harder rock was used and precise angles created that even modern tools and machines will struggle to re-create.A box cut-out in granite with fully parallel (less than 1% deviation) walls and inner angles with a radius of less than half a millimeter where the surfaces meet!!I got hooked if you like...As a result I did a little "game" about a year later.Using good quality images I could find in books or online I selected a few nice granite creation from the Inka, ancient Aegypt and the middle east. After removing all background and adding and overly with dimensions in another version of the pics I contacted stone masons...Not any stone masons, only those predominantly working with granite or harder rocks and creating tru masterpicese. My request for the images was simple and everyone got another ancient object from me.All I wanted was a quote on how much it would cost me to have this piece replicated in granite - to the dimensions and specs as referenced. Not a single mason was willing to take on the job.A few stated it would take them weeks and most likely several blocks of granite to just figure out who to make the required cuts. And for the surface finnish they were lost completely....Does that mean just because we modern humans can't do some "basic" stone work that peole did with bronze tools that aliens were involved - nope...It only means that for some of the ancient structures not only hundreds of thausands workers were required to move this big rocks by hand. And well, that unless you had thausands of years to finnish your decorations you would have had a few hundred stone masons - all with identically high skills and identicaly accuracy when creating their pieces.Highly unlikely, but according to archeologists the best explanation we have. When I got back to researching for the Repulsine and other related "UFO's" I soon discovered certain annomalies when it comes to how science and archeology refer to our ancient past. One side tells us total bogus once they start digging in the sand, the other side refuses to at least consider that if all evidence speaks against side one than side two needs to provide real answers. The science anomaly...I you finace some expedition to dig out an ancient temple or city then you do that to get some postive out of it.In return a lot of our old archeological explorations ended with biased findings and translations. These days we have more and more teams working "independtly" from financial sponsors that try to influence results. And with that came the exposure of the science anomaly. If the grave diggers say it is some decorative item showing some bird or insect that it is accepted. If the same thing appears in texts on a wall and other Language specialists" learn how to translate the writings these symbols often caused gpas or totally nonsense translations. Then someone totally unrelated to it all build a model, puts a tiny engine in it and that things actually flies and performs perfectly....Of course some students of ancient wrtings try their versions of translating the gaps and misleading areas...And despite having no clue what to look for they translate and reference to flying machines or people from the stars - based on using the same translation matrix used by the real specialsts that claimed the text can't be translated...I found the same anomaly when it comes to things related to higher technology, even if it is just batteries.Total bogus from the archeology department, utter silence and no interest at all (offically) from the science department.Still the science geeks invested billions over the years sponsoring all sorts of diggings and translations...Only hand full of these studies were made available to the public...At first I thought it is just coincidence because of all the aliens nutters out there. But even things that even an idiot wouldn't try to link to aliens are affted by this anomaly. We have experts of an entirely different field making the wildest of assumptions to avoid even hinting people in ancient times were far more advanced than what we think. And those experts of the science field who could help simply refuse to even tough the topic - officially. Then one day it hit me...The same familes and companies that sponsored some of the greatest explorations of our times are still very, very powerful and influencial....And they all made more than just good money since those glory times...The power of the atom was harness and used long before we even thought about a wheel.Real and true translations of ancient text with an interpretation based on the Y2K bug instead of the 1800's reveal a lot more than what museums and schools let us believe. The discovery of several thought to be only mythical ancient cities in the recent decades started to even open up the minds of strongly religious people. If the city is there, then the stories about it must have more truth that just being a nice story...If evidence speaks against archeology then ther must be a scientific explanation - or at least a technical one. What would that imply if the "new" evidence it correct and archeology is indeed totally wrong? What would happen if humanity starts a nuclear war?Even if it would come to what we had during the cold war, it won't take too many modern missles to make the world uninhabital for most areas.A lot of land will be free from direct radion but the fallout, failing reactors and the climate change would certainly set back humanity to the dark ages.Let's say the cold war would have turned into a real one and only enough of the rockets were used so all sides realised the game is over for everyone already. After a few hundred years our big cties would be overgrown by jungle.Conrete, steel, roads and all would slowly decay.A few thausand years and not much at all will be reminding someone of out glory past.Humanity might have survived in bunkers for a while but there isn't a real way to prevent degradtion once technology fails and you have no one to fix it or replace it.We might still have stories and legends about a past where we traveld through the skies, even made it all the way to the moon and back - but they are then just myths and bedtime stories to scare the kids.We think we are well prepared with DNA banks, bunkers that can sustain thausands of people for decades -but what if it take longer until we can go out and stay unharmed? How would humanity change after generations under ground? And what would they find a thausand or two years later when they find our cities as ancient ruins? What would they think finding the remains of a nuclear reactor that is still "hot"?What would they do if they find some old and still intact bunker with still working tech and plans/designs?Imagine the stories about Area 51 at it's glory and now imagine what it would mean for a cicilisation back in the dark ages to find still sealed areas with usuable (for out todays understanding) technology? The truck might no longer drive, the engine might be fully seized and corroded but you could try to reverse engeneer it, replicate it, even find notes you can translate giving your a repair manual and details on the fuels and lubricants used....Imagine good old Henry Ford would have found a Haynes manual for a modern car in his backyard when planting roses....We would claim inventions or discoveries of someone else as our own now, would we?So if anyone would have discovered ancient tech or even the atom and made it usable we would know about it!?If that would really be the case then why does most of the world still think Edison inveted the light bulb? ;)History is always defined by the winner or by those in charge of writing or interpreting it.That is the beauty of ancients texts and writings - they don't lie like we do, they just use the words and mental capabilities of people that have no clue about science, math, technology or just astrology to describe events.History does not lie is a statement often used for archeology. If that is true then why does history say it was the american space program that got us to the moon when in reality it was high ranking Nazi officials that provided both the technology and the scientists? Why does history state the numbers on the arms of jews in death camps were an idea of the Nazies when IBM provided not only the computers and punch cards that corresponds to those tatoos but also did the data recovery after the war?History tells us other facts and disguises the reality because it suits the winner.America would not have liked the idea that Nazies got them onto the moon or that the millions Thyssen provided for the ware production actually came from US companies in return for steel - long after all trading with the "enemy" was forbidden. The companies and familes got never charged for this war crime....Back to the atom....If history as it was in reality was cahnged over and over again by the US government then why would or should we assume any different for ancient technology or the utilisation of the atom itself? Some theorists clearly state that science, especially theoretical science provided us with what needed to find ways to turn theory into reality. And thankfully a lot of countries around the same time period started to experiement with the atom - coincidence that the war lasted until it was evident Germany is just weeks away for having enough material for their own nuclear bomb and already the rocket in a late building state to carry it all the way to New York?History shows us an entirely different picture of Germany before the Nazi times.Percision and quality at levels that caused envy in the world. And within a few years of a nutcase running the show there is a technolgical boom that should have taken several decades to develop...History like to state the Germans were just really good at what they were doing and that under pressure they got even better...Reality tells us that under the pressure they had they would have come up with all these ideas themself - try to think straight is your family is threatened if your don't deliver results...After the war it took decades to regain a certain level of quality and to come up with good inventions...And the US started a boom that went similar fast as before Germany's...Some theorists now start to claim that China is not only rich in ancient history but also in ancient sites that no outsider will ever see.The areas containing ancient cities that were discovered are entirely under state and military control...Only once there is nothing for them left some are opening to "normal scientist and archeologists"...Some insiders now make the claim that China discover ancient texts and matching technological remains for working cold fusion...Funny enough that an ancient city that widely used the claimed technology (in ancient texts) is said to be in close proximity to a few tiny islands disputed for hundreds of years not just by China and Japan....We know history is being manipulated on purpose to create a flase image of governments and religions alike. We also know that stealing things and peole and claiming them as your own is common practise - not just for the US if that still matters...We also know the moon is hollow, even NASA admits it, still history says it is a lifeless rock...If it is not: then what better place to suspect perfectly conserved remains of a past we state never existed?Does our ever growing need for electricity and energy of all kind plus our need for more space to humans explain the sudden urge to go back up there?I mean it was made very clear that we never need to go back up there again, been there, done that, let's move on - and the space program for the moon was cancelled with rockets, equippment and astronauts already lined up and ready...Take a look at ancient drawings, statues and texts and try not to see or think about modern technology when you find strange things. The more you look the more you wonder how those stories would sound if a modern human would have been present, how a modern human would put what he saw into images and carvings....One picture shows a thriving city, the next shows a great fireball rising UP, the last picture shows only flat land, ruins covered in ash and pushed over trees for miles - what would those images tell you if the text to them states hair loss, fingernails falling off, blisters and a painful death shortly after? They had no blackpowder, there was no vulcanos for thausands of miles, there is no impact crater from a meteorite - so how could these ancient people make a big city disappear within seconds and only leave glaced stone and radiation behind? If there is no gods, no aliens, no time travellers and humans could not have done it - who or what did? What is so important to feed us so easy to figure out lies about our own history, our own inventions our own accomplishments? What is it the Nazies never had, the US never took and that has period links to areas in Antarctica that are now "assigned" to US control?Funny coincidence that one of these "research" station is literally right on top of a base the Nazie never had down there.Linking it all back to the ancient Sumarian people, and good old moses himself ;)Imagine yourself what is important enough to feed your whole country nothing but lies for decades ;)Not that hard to figure out if you link the dots and spend a few weeks with you favourite search engine these days. The answer will surprise you when you find it - promise!
