Rc car out of ps3 controller+quadcopter???

Hi im just wondering if it's possible to build a working rc car using parts from ps3 controler and quadcopter such as ESC ,battery ,  2 motors in controller to power 2 wheels... ( This is just to see if i can find any use of those two things that i dont use , not trying to create a really good rc car , just checking if it is possible) The two motors would both have to spin at different speeds to make the rc car turn.

Is it possible to make a ps2/ps3 controller into a remote control for an rc car?

I have a Mini-Z MR03. This is a very sofisticated rc car and has a very sesitive controller. I was turning one of my console controllers into a radio for this car. Problem is I have no clue as to how to utilize the modules in the console controller to work with the car properly. I now wonder if it ais actually possible to do.

[Please Help Me] [Arduino Code] RC Controller Motor Driver + NRF24l01 + PS3 Controller [Need Help**] [Please Read]

Dear Genius... I don't have any arduino programming knowledge, only have some basic knowledge. But i want to build a remote control car, long range. and i have purchase all hardware requirement as per my idea. the idea/concept is describe below.Hardware: 2x arduino (UNO/Mega), 2x long range nrf24l01, USB Host Shield, Bluetooth Dongle, PS3 Controller, Motor Driver (Monster Moto Shield VNH2SP30/L298N).Use 2pcs arduino, one as receiver and another one as transmitter. Use 2pcs nrf24l01 to communicate between this two arduino.Receiver:- Arduino[1] connected with motor driver & nrf24l01[1], Transmitter:- Arduino[2] connected with Usb Host Shield, nrf24l01[2], bluetooth dongle, ps3 controller Want to use a PS3 Controller to control the car.

Hirobo XRB Remote control helicopter

I have a Wireless remote control twin blade helicopter for sale. This is not the cheapo mini copter you see on Ebay. This is an hirobo XRB, cost me $400 new still have the reciept. Comes with xtra rotor blades, remote, 2 Lipo batteries. I have cut some of the plastic away to make it lighter in weight. The X and Y axis are adjustable on the heli and the radio. It flew great 1 year ago, The blades are a foam composite, ( you can buy carbon fiber ones online.) The colars where the blades mount are broken, so if you want to use it as the heli you have to purchase new ones from Hirobo, couple bucks I assume. Or you can use it for whatever you want to, everyone in this community is quite creative, I however am not. I'll try to post pics. Someone can build some cool stuff with this. Make me an offer

computer controlled rc car roller coaster

A new idea i recently came up with was to use the ir feature in the wiimote as a gps tracker for line of sight communication... basically, the idea is to build a framework (knex pieces maybe) and then make a track out of something else with lots of turns, ups/downs, a jump or 2, and a stunt track (kind of like a skiing terrain park) on the roof... also an elevator in a corner to take the car up, and finally 2 spiral tracks to also help the car get up easier. i will eventually make a sketchup version of this track and post it, right now its just on paper but still, the layout idea is almost done.the idea is to mount an led throwie thingy using an ir led an a locking push switch (push on, push off to conserve battery life) on the top of an rc car such as a mini cooper (pic 1). i will mount the wiimote at an angle on the top in a way so that the whole track is visible (or as much as possible).heres the idea: the car remote should be hooked up to the computer, and there is a way to do that if u google it an/or look at thisthe wiimote will track the car using the ir, and the computer will then steer the car accordingly. Advantages to that are : 1. the car can start anywhere on the track; 2. there is no need for borders like those "ai" cars which use ir sensors to drive their way around, which i happened to mention in another forum of mine so refer there for pics + description; and 3. it actually tracks the car's location, instead of just avoiding obstacles like those ai cars. this would allow realtime tracking, so it knows to stop the car when it eg. gets to the elevator, ect... now - naturally, this design will have some "blind spots", so there will be laser "tripwires" in those more major areas and have those signals routed through a microcontroller, which will then send out a # respective to the tripped area then routed to the computer, just like an advanced alarm system. for the controller (hooked up to computer), it would be nice to have the whole thing routed through and powered by a single usb port, so instead of integrating a hub, is there a microcontroller that is designed to directly interface with a computer, not just for programming, but for actual realtime commands and stuff like that..?as far as the forum goes, this is just a huge idea now and we each have our areas of expertise... so m asking for ideas about harware, materials, coding, and especially how to directly interface the program to the wiimote...also, comments, questions, and anything else u got is welcome and greatly appreciated.Thanks to all, rak

Converting Hardrive into mini version of hypno disc!

Hey,Just found an old hardrive and messed about stripping it down to its bare minimum, it's currently on my lap with just the curcuitboard that controls the spindle, the actual spindle and the two discs.If I plug a molex connector in then it will spin continuosly at its idle speed.My QuestionIf I want to somehow power this hardrive to make it continuosly spin wirelessly how could I do this?I was considering maybe a laptop battery of some sort, I could then control it on a channel on an RC circuit.I have experience in the remote control wiring part just not sure the best way to power this wirelessly?Any thoughts would be very greatful to help me on this little challenge! :)Thanks,New user Dan!

Question about flight controller for Quadcopter

Hey lads, After research I found that most of Quadcopter Projects use Multiwii as a flight controller. I would like to ask some things. 1) Multiwii is used ONLY for RC control or you can control your Multicopter using a PC/Mobile through Wi/fi local network ? 2) Can you have Arduino Mini / Arduino nano work as a flight controller and work like Multiwii ? 3) Does multiwii have prospects of adding some random sensors on the board like cameras, sensors for object avoidance etc? Looking forward of your replies in order to conclude about what board I will use for the flight controller so i can start ordering the parts of hardware i need and start building my project. Cheers

Recommendations on propellers/controller for over 100g body.

Hello everyone,I am currently trying to build a DIY drone. I have never involved myself in any sort of creating drones. My current project is about making a drone with a morphing body we created. Previously, we just purchased a pre-made drone and took apart all the necessary components and re-attached all onto the morphing body. Simple circuit to turn robot chassis with DC motors into RC car?

I want to convert a robot chassis with two DC motors, like this one: https://www.sparkfun.com/products/10825 into a basic RC car. Ideally, I'm looking for an off-the-shelf solution consisting of a remote with two joysticks (for tank-style steering) and a paired breadboard-compatible receiver that outputs, for each channel, either (a) an analog voltage (say from 0-5V) or (b) a PWM signal (from 0-100% duty cycle). Those signals would be used to control the motors through two transistors. Any suggestions for a simple, off-the-shelf solution would be appreciated. I realize there are probably more complicated ways to do this (rip apart an old RC car and steal the circuitry, use an Arduino, etc), but this is for middle-school kids in an afterschool setting, so I need to minimize cost and complexity.

Requesting R/C mod

Hey all, I recently started looking into modding some of the stuff i have lying around and i came across an old mini r/c car that are only about an inch long. (see photos) Anyways i got down into it, but i really don't know what i'm doing, i was just wondering if anyone could come up with a mod for it. so far i've managed to hook the little r/c car to a plug so that it had a constant electric supply, which kinda defeats it's purpose, but was good to figure out anyways i thought. Thanks! (despite the fact i googled for the image and took one of the first 5, this actually is the exact model i have. surprisingly convenient, thanks google!)

The animatronic project Is finished

Here my instructableMy Animatronic Mod ProjectIn 2003 I made a casemod MONSTERMOD ( picture 1), Just a creature sculpture tearing out of a PC case.And It Didnt Move . So , I want the next MONSTERMOD to MOVE.Maybe to tell me that I have email.... Picture people's PCs having Heads .There favorite movie star or rock star maybe a animal. Maybe like Hal from 2001Space Odyssey .But, My animatronic Mod Has no A.I. But maybe one day. Im programmingthe 16 servo movements into the PC and press the play to play the movements a lipsync routine.Well, For Over 2 years now I have been working My Animatronic Mod.My Animatronic Mod is a floating creature head over a desktop case.( picture 2 IMG_1383.jpg)It controlled my a 2 Mini SSC II (http://www.seetron.com) this allow the computer to control 16 RC servos.16 RC servos = 16 Movements .I made the teeth out of dental acrylic, The samething denture are made of.Teeth and fangs are made 1st in tooth color dental acrylic and shaped.Then are placed in dental wax .,the mold is a silicone putty is place on the teeth allow to setup overnight.To demold the wax is melted away with boiling water leaving the teeth in the silicone putty sockets.This is called the lost wax process.( picture 3,4,)After I made the eyes out of dental acrylic ,Which is a molded ping pong ball is 40 mm .In half 20 mm sandwhich in between the 2 halves is a metal small metal ball 10mm give me a ball joint and socket.The iris is a painted metal washer. The veins are silk yarn And is cover with clear dental acrylic .The white of the eyes was changed to black color ,To give more of a alien look. ( picture 6,7)I molding the finished eyes alginate and casting them in ultracal 30, ( picture 8) Ultracal 30 is the hardest plaster made.And place them in the sculpture.This will be for Proper registration for the eyes in the skull.( picture 9 )I had to sculpt face in Roma Plastilina Clay ( picture 10)and mold it in silicone( picture 11a,11b, 11 ) This molding process called a matrix mold . A layer of water clay cover theentire clay sculpture and Ultracal 30 is place on top of the water clay .After setup ,Its demolded and water clay removed .This water clay has made a space for the silicone.Matrix molda thin layer of water clay is place ( picture 12 ) and made the core A .This gave me the thickest for the skin .Molded core A in silicone and a thin layer of water clay is place in this mold also this made core B.And this gave the thickest of the Skull. Now I have 2 molds.( picture 13,14 )Mold 1 is the Skin moldMold 2 is the skull moldI casted foam rubber in mold 1 ( picture 15,)http://www.monstermakers.com/foam.htmlTo make the foam rubber skin337 gms. base67 grams foaming agent33 grams curing agent15 flow enhancer24 grams gelling agent4 grams ammoniaThe room temp73 degrees 40%Using a Sunbeam MixMaster Mixer1. This must be watched.( picture 17,18,19)I casted urethane Plastic from smoothon.com in mold 2.This gave me the Skull,The skull was trimed and dental acrylic teeth and eyes were place inside the skull .The mechanics were place using R/C servos.The skin was painted with PAX ( is a flexible paint). The skin was glue on rubber cement to the skull .And the hair was glued rubber cement also and placed.Hair is from National Fiber Technology ,Hair 1 was Blended Black and Brown modacrylic with White and Brown Mohair and Natural Goat hair.And hair 2 Black with gray texturized modacrylic with Yak and Horse hair.The PCMy motherboard (MSI KT6) and AMD 2500xp video card (MSI 6600)The case is LIAN LI PC-V800B .To make the lip sync move ,I used VSA , Visual Show Automation , http://www.brookshiresoftware.comThis aloud me to make a lip sync animation routine. Synchronize with graphical audio MP3 file.Not only that My Animatronic Mod looks Wicked ,It Talks Back.(Picture 1st floor) ( Picture 2nd floor)I designed the animatronic so I could repair it if needed, And the support pipe is like a swing arm so I can work on the PC too. By removing the back of the skull. Inside there are 2 floors the bottom floor has 6 servos :1 Head Up + Down2 Eyes Up + Down and left + right2 Eyelids1 Jaw2nd floor 7 servos3 right,left and center Brows1 Nose3 upper lip wireAnd also 2 servos are in the Jaw for lower lip wireand 1 left + right servo gimbal= 16 servosWhen uncovered ,Here is 32 feet of servo cable.(picture32 feet )The only thing connecting to the PC and the Animatronic is a modular cable (Lookslike a phone cable). Which is plug into a modular adapter that plug into the PC's serial port .
