Hello, I'm having troubles with my modded Infra red flashlight. It worked when I first did it, for a couple minutes, then the next day only one LED(One out of six) worked. The one that works is from the same package as the others, but the only visible difference is that the LED itself is tinted a lighter blue(Not visible in picture). The source voltage is 1.5 Volts (C battery) and the forward voltage of the LED's is 1.3 volts to 1.7 volts. I'm pretty sure the circuit is parallel, and there is a 2 ohm resistor is the circuit, so they shouldn't be over or under powered. Some help on what could be wrong? P.S. I'm in the right section of the forum right? I believe I am, but the lack of questions like mine makes me think otherwise. P.P.S. This my own thing and I'm NOT asking help on another instructable.

Ever since I was a young lad (XD) I have wanted to learn whatever I could. How to clean a firearm, how to change the oil in a car, how to sight in a scope, how to string and fire a bow, the list goes on. An item included in that list is how to make a website. So, as many of you may know, I made a website (using Weebly), called The Red Book of Westmarch Insider. I decided to make this forum topic to let you guys know about some of the new stuff on the site. I have a couple of new polls, one Up to Date post, and a rather large Video Series page. I also have the ability to make a forums page, but I chose not to do that, as I was not sure as to: 1) how it would work, 2) whether or not you could post pictures, and 3) if anyone would be interested. I also made this forum topic so that I could let you guys know when I have something new on my site. You don't need to post any comments or anything, this forum topic is just to give you quick links to new posts and stuff on my site. -The Red Book of Westmarch

Its pretty much like a laser trip wire, this detector keeps detecting the rays from the led until an obstruction is made and thats when the signal must be triggered in order to sound a buzzer....pls specify the transistor which is to be used and if you are that kind pls suggest a schematic or atleast an instructable which could be helpful..

It also has A600 and P600 on it. I'm not sure if that means anything though.

Whatup. So I built Red's Reliable (R3). It was pretty ownage, but there were a few things that popped out at me as annoying, but easily fixed/modded: -Flimsy trigger guard and short trigger -The mag wasn't preloadable -Looked a little long (imo) -Asymmetric at 6 layers -Pin was hard to grasp and could wobble once pulled -Back sights were flimsy -Pieces would break where the pin hit the gun Now, these are all the negative things, but in the original gun, the positives outweigh them. Here are all the things I love about this gun: -Looks AMAZING -Fires green rod/grey connector ammo, my second favorite type -Shoots 35-45 feet (for me), so pretty powerful at close-mid range -Really good pin pull distance -Sturdy -Almost never jams -Reliable mech (heh heh) -Did I mention it looks amazing? So I decided to mod the gun and fix all the things that annoyed me. Here's what my mods have done: +Mag is now preloadable (Has a ceiling) +Trigger guard is sturdy, and trigger is longer +Shorter front barrel (which increases range because of less barrel to bounce off of) +Symmetric, and has metallic 6th and 7th layers (Sorry for jacking your style BM but it looks better that way) +Pin is now much easier to grasp, and doesn't move left or right when pulled +Back sights are now very sturdy +Where the pin hits the gun is now reinforced so that no pieces are damaged when the gun fires So that's kinda an overview/review of the gun. Before the mods, it was like a 7/10. After, I would rate it at an 8.5/10. Props to Red for making such a great gun. More Mods/Review - Johnhall14's Tactical Shotgun v2

Well, I recently built this mag loaded SMG, but it is technically just a short version of Blue Mullet's RGMP. Tell me what you think... Pros: 40 ft. range Comfortable Cool looking Making an extended mag would be easy Fore-gripis included Is a fantastic gun for a push trigger (a gun where the FP pushes the bullet against the trigger) True trigger Cons: Handle is only comfortable when the mag is inserted Bullets only work well when a broken rod tip is inserted Could use a stock

Hi I'm trying to build a infra red remote control & receiver to simply switch power on for launching model rockets & other pyrotechnic devices. So far here is the schematic I've come up with so far. I was wondering if it would work or if there was another component needed.. (sorry I am not good with electronics yet) Like an IC? All that would be needed is for the power to be switched on, no off would be needed. Please help me out and lets discuss it.

Hi all: hope someone can help with a problem i have with the instructable newsletter. I just got a new computor (Windows 7, & Windows Live Mail) and when i receive an instructable newsletter the content or images of the projects appear as rectangular blank boxes with a red X. Now other newsletters from other sites does the same thing but there is a header at the top of the page asking "to see content select show images" and then the content images appear. But with the instructables newsletter that comment or selection does not appear at the top of the page??? and I am not able to view the project images?? I'm sure its something simple but I can't find out what it is???? Sure would appreciate any help.

I received this matrix in the mail and I'm having problems trying to get it wired, as you can see it's it has 26 pins, the schematic has 8 pins for the rows and 8 pins for the columns but the other 10 are sitting at the bottom with the words "no pin"? I tried to wire up the rows and columns but had no success. My main goal was to have it hooked up to a couple 74HC595 shift registers (via 16 pins?) on some protoboard. Any help on how to get this wired would be appreciated!

I really liked the red dot sight from CoD MW and MW2, so I thought that it may be possible to make one in real life. If you got some thin acrylic, only ~4mm thick (the clear colourless plastic kind) and a small laser pen inside the gun, you could have the laser shine up to a small point upon the acrylic. Or, you could adapt on this and have a very small laser unit on the base of the RDS (where it would clip onto the rails) hidden of course, and have it shine on to the acrylic. The one thing that I hate about the RDS is that you only have one bearing point. I don't see how it would aid you in any way, because one dot isn't enough to aim with. You would have to line it up with some other sight. Something which could work is an ACOG (advanced combat optical gunsight) where on each of the lenses is a bearing point which you could line up.

... and I Feel Fine.So the LCH "red button" day is coming up. It is supposed to happen mid-June with collisions starting a couple of months later (I haven't found any actual dates yet though). I know that the chances of it producing a mini black hole that gobbles up the Earth (or one of many other strange, never before seen, apocalyptic theoretical physics scenarios) are small, but still ...Who thinks it would be fun to throw a party the night before they fire it up? So if the next day we all cease to exist, we could at least have the satisfaction of going out with a (big) bang. The parties could be physics themed too. We could have snacks and drinks that are composed of atoms. We could tell physics jokes ("Supercollider, I barely even know her"). We could read passages from "Flatland". And to finish the night off (this almost goes without saying for apocalypse motivated parties) we would have a massive bokononism style orgy. What do you say Instructables members, want to rub some feet?Edit: CERN is actually being sued to prevent the firing up of the LHC. I have one of those old Radio Flyer red wagons, it was a wonderful little toy when I was a kid, but now it is a rusty and sad thing in my backyard. The wheels still work, the handle still turns, but the wheels have big patches of rust, and so does the metal container on top of the wheels. I wanna make it look good again, maybe mod it a bit?

Long story short, i recently came in to a pile of clean rags that mechanics use to wipe oil from their hands and tools. I posted a link below to reference this item if anyone is not familiar. I dont have any use for these rags but the simple cloth squares have been surged and would do well as a handkerchief (Cloth tissue or napkin) is they weren't so rough. I want to open up the topic to everyone and see if anyone has ideas for alternative uses.. i made a small pouch from one already but other then that i haven't got any more ideas. Sorry, not trying to promote this store but these are the rags i have now. http://ragdepot.net/1000-red-shop-.html

I think my daughter dropped her DL LIte and now when you turn it on, both screens turn red. The volume still works and it does turn on and stay on. I do hear something loose inside, but I do not have the right tool to look inside to see what it might be. Has anyone ever experienced anything like this and can help me out here?

I have 2 chargers. My dog ate the original so I bought another, which my husband dropped in a cup of mountain dew. The plug in end was wet and won't work now. I want to put the wire from the new one to the plug in part of the old one. But the wires are different colors. One is red and black the other is red and green. Can I put the red and green together safely??

Hello, I do not have any measuring equipment apart from my Helix shatterproof ruler. I've looked on the net for an answer and found : 0.025mm 0.10mm 0.00445mm 0.005" They vary so much that I would rather trust the opinion of an Instructable's type. Has anyone ever measured their can (especially Red Stripe) in an idle moment? Thank you. I did learn that they are ever so slightly thinner in the middle, though.

So, I accidentally agreed to fix a friend's IR wildlife camera, which has had the cable mostly ripped off. I have three wires to solder back to a crowded circuit board, but I don't know which goes where, and I've never done SMT soldering like this. I've tried finding diagrams or manuals, but I haven't managed to yet. Does anybody have any ideas? (In the photos, the only wire soldered in place is the black one, and the jacks are the end of the cable away from the camera)

I was looking at an instructable and I saw that all the comments that I made on it were now red. Why is this? I guess it's supposed to help you find comments that you made a while ago, but it doesn't seem helpful to me. It makes the whole comment look like one big link. If you put a real link in your comment, how is someone going to find it if it's all red?
