Okay... so long story short, i have this little transistor that i need the non-surface mounted version of. The part # is PHD3055E. I can only find the datasheet, And can't find it anywhere for sale. So i thought i'd come here and ask, Any ideas on what could replace this? Here's the datasheet in the google docs viewer. http://docs.google.com/viewer?a=v&q;=cache:huahl6K3DFkJ:www.datasheetcatalog.org/datasheet/philips/PHP_PHD3055E-06.pdf+PHD3055E&hl;=en≷=us&pid;=bl&srcid;=ADGEESg3724yaKjv666t2rqjyyXVjvQp5HpfKIXr3723cJt4Y_bqPXypg_oySVo3Q9eOgiMBHIG4zDYsHVk73N0whYfHI3PTtv8kTeA_FzIxSWhNnkzgniEWSIQLls8aeQVgmyBDhZyI&sig;=AHIEtbRm4XdPQEc-wzTiPkqsGwSO1qblnA

I've been thinking, which, for me is strange. What's stranger, i've been thinking about saving the planet. I don't believe that global warming is solely the fault of man and his machines, nor do i believe that we're all going to fry in a ten-thousand year summer, but that's not the point of this forum, and i'd appreciate no comments labelling me as a communist, or a planet-hater. What i had in mind is a new system of lighting. Say i took some LEDs (lets say 16) and connected them in paralell, and attatched them to the appropriate power source, would they be more or less efficient than a tungsten filament lamp? As for aesthetic considerations, to simulate natural sunlight during winter months, one could add blue or yellow LEDs to tune the shade of the light. Would this idea be more efficient than the lights we have? (i avoided mentioning those energy-efficient lights because they're not really that efficient, and give crap light.)

Hi, So I have a AA battery pack inverter for some EL wire, and I was wondering if it was possible to replace the AA battery's with a lithium Ion battery to reduce its size. What kind of voltage should I look for/do I need to take into account amperage?

Apparently Microsoft has found that Vista was a bad idea and so is producing a replacement which is said to be coming out in 2009.So if we put in Microsoft's usual lateness with release it will be 2010 before anything appears.Edit: Its called Windows 7 and wikipedia has an article on it.http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Windows_7

My AC Return/Supply is in my garage and appears to have some cheesy work done by the construction workers when they installed it, keep in mind this house is 10+ years old. I was hoping to replace and re-install some new drywall and was hoping for some recommendations on how to approach this situation. See photos for details.

Hello, I have a old hair clipper. It has a rechargeable battery in it, which does not charge very well. I opened up the clipper and it has a single battery. It reads d-2/3a700 mAh 2.4 v. What do I need to do to replace with a capacitor? Like resistors and such. If I wanted to get it to charge quick. And use it quick. thanks

Well, got an old Dell Inspiron 8600 and if you've read any of my other questions you know all about it and its problems. Anyway... the cover for the point stick (mouse thing in the center of the keyboard) needs to be replaced, but this being my first laptop, I'm not quite sure how to do it. Personally I just want to pull it off with a some pliers and jam a new one on, but I don't want to break it either.... so I'm exercising alittle caution by asking first.... is there a specific way to do it, or is my way just about right? Thanks

. I was wondering if anyone knows a supplier for a FFC converter/adapter so I can replace a viao laptop LCD with an HP one I have on hand? I'm trying to use on hand parts to build a diy lcd projector, and thee vaio lcd has serious issues that reduce it's usable screen real estate, IE, dead pixels, lines running top to bottom... The HP just has a broken backlight, but it's motherboard is trashed.

Hi, I have what can only be described as a "no-name" laptop sitting in the bottom of a drawer. Among other things it has a missing "G" key. The problem is I have absolutely no clue how to replace the key - I'm not going to pay for a whole new keyboard and the key + "springy bit" is long since gone. The only branding I can find is "Clevo M300N". I was hoping to buy a broken laptop and cannibalise it (there are other hardware issues, but the keyboard is driving me nuts) Can anyone give me a shove in the right direction here? (Sorry for rambling) Edit: UPDATE - I found the key, all I need now is some kind of spring or membrane to fix it right up!

Do you think it would be possible to substitute a variable resistor and a normal capacitor for a variable capacitor? The way I figure it is that a variable capacitor is supposed to adjust how fast said capacitor charges and discharges, wouldn't a variable resistor and a normal capacitor also function like this? I'm working on an idea for a small am radio, and looking to substitute these parts. Could it work? Thanks

So i made a laser alarm system some time back, it worked good but had one fault, more like a limitation. it made the buzzer ''buzz'' only when the laser was interrupted and the buzzer turned off when the laser was allowed to hit the photo sensor again. i wanted it to stay on until turned off by a switch. someone suggested something called a monostable flip flop but i had no idea what it even meant, then i saw something called silicon controlled rectifier or a thyristor, but i also learned that they have to be made using a pnp and npn transistor, what i cant understand is what transistors should i use to replace the npn transistor on my circuit, the tansistor on my cicuit is 2n3904, input voltage is 5v

Hey I have a cheap camcorder that runs on AA's but I want to put it on a lithium battery. What I want to use is just the standard battery out of an old phone 3.2v, I'd like to use these because I have a huge surplus of them. I have pretty much no knowledge of electrical circuits and so I need of bit of help. I know two AA's is 3v and any lithium battery is 3.2v, how could I step the battery down to 3v?

The situation:I (will) have a disc of plywood roughly 20cm across. I need to cut a spiral notch in the ply, from edge to centre, around 3mm wide, so that I can hold a spiral of flexible ply in place and close off the end of the spiral at the same time. The perfect tool for the job is, of course, a router. The problem:I don't have a router.Short of buying a router just for this one job, what can I do to cut the notch?Plus:I've been saying "plywood" - is there another material that can be shaped the same way?

I have a 2006 Mini Baja Minibike(http://www.bajamotorsports.com/categories/minibikes/products/WR65_baja-warrior-mini-bike) with more than a few problems. As of now, it won't even start, and I can't find the problem. I've cleaned anywhere that fuel goes, air filter, exhaust, and adjusted the carb, it still doesn't start. When it was running, it didn't even idle. So I'm wondering, would an engine swap with this: http://www.harborfreight.com/engines-generators/gas-engines/212-cc-ohv-horizontal-shaft-gas-engine-epa-69730.html engine work? It seems almost identical; but I"m not sure.

I got my laptop with a dead battery and I got my laptop from a liquidation sale, now my laptop use one of those battery packs that have a bunch of batteries the size of a AA. Their total voltage is around 14.4v as the battery pack says so, meaning each of the 8 batteries is about 1.8v. The batteries are lithium ion ones but I want to know if it would work to make a battery pack of my own out of alkaline batteries? I got a whole bunch from disposable cameras and want to use them. Now besides that the power adapter says it outputs 18.5v. So which one should I follow when making the battery pack? I will be hooking the alternative battery pack to the contacts the dead battery was so I guess I should make a battery pack around 14.4v. Any comments? Would this work?

Hello, My wife accidentally crashed her phone digitizer (Samsung Galaxy Core 2 (G355H)). Its was still working, but you know... Being the type of man which always desire to fix something - I put myself to that mission. So I bought a new digitizer from one of eBay sellers. And sadly after replacing... the new digitizer was not working at all. Bringing back the old crashed digitizer to test it - it was still working. Tried to update firmware. Still the same. So I decided that It was faulty and asked for seller to resend the item. The new digitizer (number 2) came. Still the same stuff :(. Started to google. Found the solution on the internet. I have to let the phone boot with the old digitizer, when the boot is complete, need to remove the lcd and digitizer, replaced with the new digitizer (the phone has to stay on). And after that connected back the lcd... and its works... but sadly (as the author of this solution) if I reboot the phone - will not work again. PLEASE... Show me the direction what I need to do or where to search the answer

Recently one of the plastic clips that connect the strap to the mask for my CPAP machine broke. They sell replacement clips for the heargear ( 8 bucks for 2 clips). My question is would it be cost effective to get replacement clips 3D printed, or am I better off just buying the replacement clips?

Does anybody know an inexpensive way to replace the surface foil on an electric razor? I think it's called foil anyway; it's the metal part that contacts the skin and is a mesh of small holes for beard hair to pass through. The raw foil stock must be relatively cheap to fabricate; maybe there is a way to get a sheet of it and put it on the original frame from the shaver. Most replacements are almost the price of a whole new shaver. And I haven't even found a replacement for my modified, ancient Braun system 123. After the shaver died I resurrected it and made it solar powered by tearing out the charge circuitry and batteries and replacing them with two batteries and a diode that plugs into a small solar panel from a garden light. This worked perfectly for years until the foil wore through last week.

I have succesfully replaced the laser in my wii... sort of. When I put a disc in to try, the wii could read it but once i clicked "play", it would sit there and make an odd sort of clicking noise like something was trying to move but couldn't. Earlier when putting the disc drive back into the wii, a spring a little less than a centimeter popped out but I ahve no idea where it came from. Could this be the problem? And if so, where does it go?
