My Chemical Romance Update =D

My Chemical Romance will go on a temporary break while they seek inspiration to write a new album."We can't make any more music unless we live. When we get a chance, we're going to get together and do some demos and start rolling. But we're going to take it slow,” frontman Gerard Way said. The band took two years to tour in support of their last album, 2006’s The Black Parade. {Posted from The Star}Things have been a little quiet since My Chemical Romance killed off their alter egos, The Black Parade, back in may at New York's legendary Madison Square Garden venue. However frontman Gerard Way has posted a massssiiiivvvveeee update answering all your questions about the new album, how drummer Bob Bryer is after recent wrist surgery, how guitarist Ray Toro's wedding went, what Frank Iero's been up to with his side-band, Leathermouth, as well as quashing internet rumours that he recently died in a car crash. It reads as follows:"Hey guys, Gerard here... I'm hanging out with Mikey in New Jersey, relaxing, drinking coffee, talking comics, and getting ready to take a drive down south tomorrow. I don't know what states I'm passing through but I know where I'm heading. Don't worry, I've got a the Clockwork Orange audiobook, a Dr. Pepper air-freshener, and a GPS so I don't get lost. We figured by now everyone that's a fan of the band might be wondering what we're up to, what we're planning, so I thought I'd write this letter and fill you all in."We're living, decompressing - The Black Parade took over two years to tour and six months to make so that's a lot of existing in a fictional world, and we're just extremely happy to live in a real one for a while. One thing I can let you know is that we're excited. Genuinely more excited than we have ever been to be in this band, make some new music. And we have ALL been writing new material in our own separate worlds... I started a week after I got home, buying a good rig, an old Jag, and a bunch of pedals- just searching for the next sound."Bob is recovering well from his recent wrist surgery - exceedingly well considering how risky the procedure can be. We're all really happy that when he picks up the sticks again he won't be in the intense pain he was in during the last year of touring. It's going to take him a while to rehabilitate but knowing him, he will most likely be playing the drums before the doctor says it's a good idea. He just loves playing, we all do. Franks on the road with Leathermouth and Reggie and The Full Effect so you should go see them and get spit on. I know Leathermouth doesn't have a record out yet, but Frank gave it to me in Mexico and I can easily say it's my favourite post-hardcore record of the year, so I know you will at least enjoy the songs if you don't know the words."One of the best parts of the last five months was getting to see Ray get married and all of us be a part of the wedding. It was beautiful. I'm not sure where the happy couple is right now but I am sure wherever they are, they are really enjoying it. I have never seen him happier in my life. So we made plans to get together soon and make some demos, see where our heads are at, take it slow. If explosions happen in our heads right away who knows how soon we could have a record out, we aren't in any rush but we get just as anxious as you to find out what the next 'thing' is going to be."So that about wraps it up... I'm glad I could stop by for a chat, I think I will do it more often. I'm writing more comics, writing more music, and missing my wife right now. Oh, and I heard a rumour that I died in a car accident. I didn't."[{Posted from Kerrang!}]

ARGH NOOO!!!! Romance[Love.Lust] = Pain!!! {suffering.unhappiness} = : ( ...

As some of you may know, I've had a crush on a gal for quite awhile. For the past while I thought I had it good, she's been awful flirty as of late, and seemed to be dropping hints all over the place. So yesterday, I mustered the courage (and resources :p) to ask her out. Guess what? I was turned down flat. I was rejected. Scorned. Publicly humiliated (I did in front of a group of friends, FSM knows why...). Either it was adrenaline, or it was the FSM, but I didn't feel to bummed out. But now (last night, this morning) that I've been thinking about, I feel like the warm hand that stole my heart hath hurled it down and stomped upon it with an icy stiletto... WWWWAAAAAAHHHH!!!!!!!!!!! *runs to refrigerator and sobs*And the problem is, in all my misery and self pity, I think it's possible that I like her even more, *sigh* what is unattainable is what a guy seeks....WWWAAAAAHHHHHHH!!!!!! *runs back to refrigerator* All the world is muck and gloom... So now what? Gain her love? Forget and be miserable?

Scammer On Instructables!

Beware of this scammer on instructables. Going by the username of 'soukayna', they will have no profile picture. Clicking on their profile will show that they claim to be a 24 year old female. They'll send you a message via orangeboard or PM reading thus: "Nice To Meet You My name is Favor, i saw your profile and it drew my attention to write to you. I would like you to communicate me through my e-mail address (favormadi@hotmail.com)so that we can get to know more about each other more and also to exchange our pictures. I am waiting to her from you. until then continue to be blessed. Favor" A quick google search on the alleged "Favor Madi" revealed that they've posted this scam on several websites. The best thing you can do is immediately delete their comment. If anyone knows a way of reporting them to the instructables site, please do so. It's dissapointing to me that the first comment on my orangeboard was a scam.

Instructables in the New York Times -- Romancing the Flat Pack: Ikea, Repurposed

Instructables, member mzed, and his Low-cost Spherical Speaker Array all were mentioned in Romancing the Flat Pack: Ikea, Repurposed by Penelope Green at the New York Times. ..."I think there is a movement around looking at all the products that are available -- this global stream of stuff -- and realizing you can tinker with them and rebuild them," said Michael F. Zbyszynski, 36, the assistant director of music composition and pedagogy at the Center for New Music and Audio Technologies at the University of California, Berkeley, whose own hack is a speaker array made from red plastic Ikea salad bowls, and who has made other musical objects from PVC plastic and coffee cans that "live in the zone of the hack," he said."It's all about not accepting what's presented for sale as it is," Mr. Zbyszynski said, "about not just doing a 'paint by numbers' of your life."...ReadyMade is part of a universe of D.I.Y. media and forums where Ikea hacks appear and are then found by Ms. Yap, who links her blog to them. It's a universe that includes Make magazine (more science than design-geeky, for the handmade-robot set) and Web sites like instructables.com, which was created by M.I.T. Media Lab alumni as a forum for its users to share knowledge about how to make or do practically anything, including, as a glance at the home page the other day revealed, a quick banana nut bread and "hacking a toilet for free water." Mr. Zbyszynski's speaker array, with its goofy "Lost in Space" aesthetic, first appeared there.See more news mentions of Instructables here.

How do I know whether or not by grade 8 crush likes me? Answered

I'm in grade 6 and I really like this guy but he's in grade 8 and I rarely ever see him. I only started seeing him more when he got in trouble so when I enter the school in the morning he's always there facing the door helping with the lunch "tickets" that I get everyday just to get his attention and even then it feels like he likes me but I'm not sure because he's always so emotionless around me and when I go to get lunch with my best friend, my crush only says hi to my best friend and looks at me I always feel he's eyes on me the only time we ever talked was when I first meet him I asked his name and he smiled and replied, the second was at lunch when I was laughing like crazy and he came up to us and started laughing too cause he over heard me saying something so weird and crazy to a friend of mine and everyone was like what, so yah I really don't know if he likes me or not?, I keep getting mixed messages and somethings it feels like he's ignoring me By the way I'm 5'3 and he's like 5'7 or 5'8 (I don't know why I added that in :>) and he's like the jock of the school, he's popular, cool, and calm and I'm well known around the school but I wouldn't say I was popular, I'm too confident for my own good and I'm not afraid to voice out my opinions and I think that me and my crush are a perfect match

Hispanic or Latino?

I cringe everytime someone uses the word Latino when generically speaking of Spanish-speaking people. I prefer to be called Spanish or Hispanic. Some people may disagree with me but I think that calling me a Hispanic describes my true ethnical and cultural origin. Although many people will bring the fact that the colonization of America by the Spanish conquerors was bloody and opressive, we still owe to Spain the origin of our countries. From Mexico to Patagonia and the Large Antilles, the Spanish conquistadores left their footprint in the form of language, architecture, religion, cooking, stories, art, crafts and culture. In contrast, a Latino is anyone who descends from people that speak a Romance language like: French, Italian, Portuguese, Spanish and Romanian. By that definition, when we speak of Latin America we include countries like Brasil, Haiti, French Guyana and, Surinam. The same definition could apply to Italian-Americans, French-Americans, French-Canadians, and Cajun people.

I need an iTunes-style database solution for all my videos...

Hello, Newby to Instructables, read about it in the newspaper today.  Looking forward to some help/input on this project of mine... I have a huge (and growing) volume of video media. pushing 5 TB, and I'll be buying another 2 TB drive before autumn.  Now, having all this media at my fingertips on my PC without having to rifle through my DVD library is great, but it's only half the battle.  What I really want to be able to do is search through all my videos and TV episodes with the same ease that I go through my music library in iTunes. So, what I need is some way to list each video, and list each "tag" that applies to that video (SciFi, TV, comedy, romance, etc., you get the picture).  So, Excel serves well enough for that part, though I'm not married to it as a long-term solution. And, Excel fails completely as a searchable database, where I can just type in, say, "SciFi" and get the database to present me with every single Start Trek, Stargate, B5, etc. TV episode and movie that I own. So, can anyone suggest a program that would already be able to do this for me? iTunes itself isn't a solution, because although I could  make a plethora of empty MP3 files, import them into iTunes, and assign all the metadata I want to them, there wouldn't be anyway to click on the empty MP3 entry and have the movie/video pop up and play. Also, my videos are either direct DVD rips or mkv files, so I can't import either of those into iTunes either. Thanks in advance!
