I and my friend are trying to make super pants. They will be waterproof, flameproof, and bulletproof. We are going to sew a climbing harness, shin guards, and kneepads into them. The pants will be made out of Nomax with Kevlar in certain areas. Where can I get Nomax and Kevlar in semi-small quantities, and how can I waterproof them in a way that won't be burned off?

I am sparsh from India and i am a technology freak i am very new to Arduino. I recently lost my sisters bag (it was her favourite one! ) she still hasn't forgiven me and make up to her , im gonna get her a new one... Not only do i wanna get her a bag, i wanna get her a Super bag! This is a bag i found online.. the one i lost was leather too.. I was hoping all of you would be able to help me plan the bag ... Mission : a bag that has arduino and bluetooth connection and a small screen(to show bag battery and bluetooth connection status), can connect to phone, play music through awesome speaker that is connected to super large capacity battery that can be charged via wall plug or solar panel. Same battery has a standard Indian 3 pin socket to connect laptop on the go. Maybe some way of bag lost detection on phone when bag not connected via bluetooth. Also maybe some lights connected to the arduino that respond to music playing through the bluetooth ... i also had the idea of using a breathlyzer or some other cool utility that you can think of ... I believe a lot of this will be possible with only an arduino board and a 1sheeld . Or if you have any other ideas in mind I have saved up some money. i would like to pay any of you some if you would like to help me with this project and think that you cannot do it for free ! Otherwise id love to see the community giving in their inputs and extra add ons. Thanks Looking forward to hearing from you ... firstname.lastname@example.org

First off, I know this goes to the whole front page, but this is posted in the Super Capacitor group, just so you know. Welcome to the people who joined my group! If anybody has any cool projects or ideas, please post and talk about them! Also if you know of any good deals for capacitors, please tell!

Super glue. Good stuff. A bit slow sometimes. Baking soda speeds it up. But I want it clear. I don't have accelerator. I think I could get some on the far side of town, but don't know someplace close to buy it. Internet says moisture cures it. I don't find this to be true. Internet says heat, air movement, UV. At the moment, my project is sittin in the sun, which gives all 3 things, but there's no control group. Qs What sorta place sells accelerator for cyanoacrylate? Which techniques have sped you along with it before?

I need to make a device that can move two small servos within 0.01 or less degree rotation (yes, degrees, not radians!). Currently, everthing I've seen comes up greater than half a degree. It must have position feedback (stepper without encoder won't work), and the whole thing must fit in a 1/2"x6" tube. It only needs to move maybe 30-40oz-in, but will always have that load (so backlash isn't a huge issue, but still should be minimal). A COTS device is best, but it can be homemade, preferably under $50 or so, maybe up to $100 max. It doesn't need to move fast or continuously, maybe 90 in 0.5 seconds. It will be run by a microcontroller with a lot of IO pins, and PID control. Any ideas, products or anything would be great, Thanks in advance.

This is a wonderful site ... I learned how to remove rust electrically ... good stuff; however, the site is brutally slow between pages (downloading). I have high speed access via cable modem and this site is like using dial up. What's up? Is it the server? Has the site been optimized? Pictures optimized? I will continue to visit because the site and concept is strong. Thanks.

So I am building a small cabin in the woods near my house, It is on a very small ridge to the gully below. In the gully I dug a test hole for my well and had a hole at under two feet that fills up immediately when you scoop it out. Should I stay in this spot or will the water be bad?? I doubt if I can go very deep because the hole is now filled with water and there is about two feet of rock just under the surface I know because I dug a hole for something else nearby. Drilling of any sort is not an option as the rocks are to large. Should I just move nearby and try to go deep in that spot. I might get four feet in another spot. Thanks!!

Hey all, I wasn't able to find where a short discussion about Super cooled water was posted not long ago, and I wanted to relate this incident; so if I get no replies, that is ok. I just thought it was kind of neat the way this occurred. Last night, well, I guess it was actually this morning ( 00:30 ), I left work and went to my car, got myself situated, and before driving off, I grabbed a bottle of water that was in the cup holder. I distinctly remember shaking it to make sure the water was NOT frozen. I also took note that the bottle was partially imploded; something I would have expected as the temp was down to about 17 o F. When I opened the bottle, put it to my mouth and tilted it, the unexpected happened. Between the moment of releasing the vacuum that had formed and my trying to drink from the bottle ( about 3 seconds), the water froze to a Slushy consistency. For a moment I was perplexed why I was getting no water in my mouth, and then it slid from the bottom, and it stopped at the neck of the bottle. I had forgotten that this could happen. I must have sat there looking at it for a good 2 minutes trying to get something out of the bottle, when I thought I would blow some warm air into it. The bottle inflated slightly, and the air passed by the slush, and when I released, I got a face full of slush. I had to laugh at myself all the way after that little incident. :-)

I was making some stamp glue where i mixed some Elmer glue and vinegar. but wanted to see Wat happens when i mix Elmer's glue, vinegar, and super glue. like in 10 seconds the solution turned into a rubbery solid which took the form of the container. can any body tell me why this happened. it held its shape and slightly reminded me of molding silicone. it wasn't sticky and came out of the plastic cup easily.

If I combined Prank's tutorial on magnetic senses with an electromagnetic coil, could a more acute sense be achieved? Also, how would one go about making it look less conspicuous than a battery and a nail duct taped to your hand? And, would one be able to sense a Ferro fluid with this sensory upgrade, or no? Thanks in advance for the answers, and I apologize if my magnetic ineptitude put a damper on your day.

Is it possible to get a TINY, cheap electric valve? The idea is for a 3D printer that uses a huge array of tiny needles, each of which acts as an extruder, to 3D print stuff in seconds instead of hours. My question is, could I use a tiny valve over each needle to allow or stop plastic? or would that be impractical/impossible?

I'm working on a project for Halloween that involves some LEDs, I've got a bunch of old cigar boxes painted up to look like Ghostbusters proton traps and I just want to have red lights on them, preferably blinking. I got an LED assortment at Radio Shack to experiment with. When I put a 9v battery to one I saw a tiny flash and then nothing, so I think I overpowered it. But when I went down to a 1.5v AA battery nothing happens. I'm sure this is stupid-simple, but I've got no experience whatsoever. Any specifics would be appreciated. Thanks!!!

I will use this linksys usb i would like input on the idea of a usb to cat 5 to stretch the usb cable? should i power the linksys from a powered hub ? the build will be posted on instructables when done and i will give credit due. my parabolic gets about a 14 db increase from a WiFi usb thumb it just puts the thumb into the sweet spot of the dish and is not for the outdoors. I an open to any and all suggestions tomorrow i will post what my db are from the site .

Hey guys!I'm looking to build an automatic putter with a solenoid from a old starter motor and some super capacitors.I've figured out how to triangulate the distance using a servo and a pair of lasers but I'm at a loss on how to charge them and the math behind it to make sure that the right amount of current goes through. The basic plan is to either wire up a series of the caps listed above and hopefully charge them in series. OR buy a car booster pack and disassemble it for the bits and pieces. OR use a lipo like this and hope that the discharge is enough to hit the ball down the course.Any thoughts or suggestions on some reading meterial?I'll be doing an instructable at some point and will give some cred to the best answer

Hello I was wondering what resistor you guys would recomend for use in a capacitor charging circut. I can follow common sense for a small 160uf 300v photo capacitor. But this cap has a rating of 3,700uf and 600v. And considering its in issue, (which I believe it may be,) assume your giving it 18v of power from let's say... a drill battery. Thank you.

WHY DID YOU CHANGE?!? Why did you change what was good? This new site is awful! I see pics with no idea of what I'm looking at because the titles and brief descriptions are gone. I can't even hover and get a mouse over text. BTW - the pages don't format right in my OS / Browser combo - couldn't you have tested this first? This was a great site that needed no tweaking. Sad, so very sad....

Saul heard about this sweet idea at the G4G8 conference. It's perfect for an Instructable - hopefully someone is suitably inspired to do it.Take 40lb's of pennies. Drop them all (equivalent to tossing). Collect all those that were heads and put them back in the bucket. Drop them all again, again choose all those that land heads. Repeat until there is only one coin left. This is the luckiest coin in your bucket. Apparently, one guy got a coin that tossed 17 heads in a row...

I'm getting a slightly broken, upright freezer from craigslist (only the seal is broke, so air's leaking out the door frame) and I was wondering if there is any way to make it into a slightly over sized air conditioner. Living in Texas, it's kinda hot so I dont mind if its chilly (im the kind of guy that wears flipflops to North Carolina in the Winter on the Mountains). Im going to be putting it in a mobile home that will be internally demolished and transformed into a recording studio. It shall have its own little 'space' over in the corner. It would be great to cool down the heavy old-ish recording equipment and the computer I will house in the 'tech room'! Could I just cut a hole in the freezer and run a duct from it to the trailer? Would it put too much condensation? Thanks! *Big, upright freezer around the size of a normal refridgerator*

Greetings, I would like to know how to make a frequency converter. I want to convert the 2.4 GHz from a WiFi transmitter to one fourth or 600Hz which is in the newly freed up white space area for greater range. Anyone know where to find schematics for this, or make schematics? Is the circuit complicated? Thanks
