Dvd player is a tad loud

I gots a question, I have this Panasonic X410 dvd player, it's a real nice unit for 1999, and makes a real nice big single disc cd player..but on my stereo when I play music, it keeps lighting up the peak indicator on my reciever, which probably isn't too good to do that often. I wanted to know if there was a way to "tune" this thing down a bit as far as the line level outputs, but there's not onscreen volume control that I can find. Also, I'm fairly pertubed as to why there's two sets of video rca outputs and two sets of the audio jacks, respectivly, set side beside each other. There's no specific labeling of their function other than just video and audio out, not video 2 or nothing and I don't remember any mentioning of in the manual a few years back when I still had it. This unit has a nice 10 bit video dac with a 24 bit audio decoder (96khz something), I really want to hear what the fibre optic on it sounds like, but hey I can't afford a $3,000 amplifier right now, does anyone know of any kind if "converter" or way I could install a fibre optic board I can get my hands on into my surround sound unit I have now. Ideas ideas, I guess I have spring fever eh?

Hello! I was wondering if anybody did any business with YiWu QQ and so on and if there's some place where I can get their stuff or stuff similar to it that doesn't come in a package of 100 pieces, because that's a tad too many for me :) Thanks for the help!

Headphone showdown

I'm currently in a dilemma over the next pair of headphones I'm buying. Does anyone have anything bad to say about certain ones? (Or better yet good things). The three I've narrowed down to are: - Solo HD's from beats - These are a tad more expensive, but I personally like them and have heard great things. - Detachable cord - Great sound - Most expensive (119USD) - Skullcandy Lowriders - I've gotten mixed reviews here, some say that they are crap yet I personally know someone who had a pair of these for 3 years and they were still in one piece. - A little uncomfortable, but durable. - Decent sound - Also the cheapest (40USD) - Ifrogz Vertex - I have a pair of these which are broken, the cord is a tad cheap but the quality is fairly good otherwise. - Decent sound - Mid priced (50USD) Thank You - Nerdman

Robot goes on an airplane!

Robot and I went flying the other day, so we took a picture together. Whenever I wear it out in public, I hope somebody will come up to me and say that they're a member, too. Hasn't happened yet. I look a tad bit tired(/retarded)...since i'd been flying all day. EDIT: Yeah, I look really retarded in that picture...but at least Robot looks groovy!

Any ideas for using hardened plumber's putty? Answered

I bought a tub of this to fix my sink and only used a tad. Despite it saying "Will not separate, harden, or crack" it does all that. Unfortunately, they don't give warranties with this stuff, so I was left with a life time's supply of plumber's putty that is hardening as I speak. Please, if you have ANY ideas on how to use this or soften it, do pass them along. Thanks! :) =^..^=

How do I make a device to bring 12v back to 6v without too much power wastage?

I want to run a couple of LED lights that are 6v and I want to use a couple of 12v Batteries. Have been told that a "Spike" would be the way to go but not sure just what that is. Any help would be greatly appreciated and please make the answers simple as I am a tad old and not real sharp on electrics.

Photo hosting recommendations

I have a flickr account, which I use rarely, but it just got snotty at me for going over 200 images - they want me to pay to make them all visible. 200 images? Strikes me as a tad stingy. After all, my image library here has nearly 1300 shots in it. So, can anybody recommend a half-decent image-hosting site that will let you store a lot more images, for free, and is easy to use?

What would your ultimate knex battle/war rifle be(not the halo one, an original one that I could make soon)? Answered

I need a project, so I decided I would make the ultimate war rifle. I can tell you right now, don't say a TR, because I personally think they're a tad unreliable. How can I preserve animal organs for an open exhibit?

Hi all, I'm participating in an art exhibition and my project contains two animal organs, a pigs heart and kidney which will be lying on and in a bag of soil, and I'm looking for ways to preserve these parts to be displayed openly at room temperature. I've looked into DIY plastination and preserving them in alcohol etc but I was wondering if anyone had recommendations? Hopefully inexpensive as a bonus. If it seems impossible I've considered having multiple organs, freezing them and rotating them after they begin to defrost but this seems a tad over elaborate. If anyone has any suggestions if really appreciate it! Thank you kindly, James

A good place to start from

Help a newbie out, what should I look at first? I recently became very interested in the concept of Knex weaponry, and I want to build an Arsenal of Freedom for myself. However, I am unsure of which designs are better than others, or whose designs are the top of the line. Would any of you be so kind to send me links to some of the better instructables/models out there? Accesory instructions are also appreciated. I'm looking for grenades and a wide variety of guns, but I want optimized designs over all else. I leave my fate to the rest of you. P.S. While proficient with Knex, I am a tad rusty, so if an instructable is straightforward and simple to understand, all the better.

Make tee shirt wall art without cutting?

Hi. This isn't a very complex project (not like some of the stuff I've seen on here), but I've decided to buy a few T-shirts for myself. Now, they're somewhat rare, as they're promotional items for a project that has since ended, and as much as I'd like to wear them, the only ones left are a tad too small. So I had decided to make them into wall art (as shown in this article: https://www.instructables.com/id/T-Shirt-Wall-Art/), but I'd like to do so without cutting or stapling them. If anyone has any ideas for how I can do this, I'd very much appreciate it. Thanks.

Soldering Iron advice?

Hello, I'm shopping for a new soldering iron and I was hoping for some advice or recommendations. I'm a professional auto tech, and do plenty of soldering there, but I'm getting back into electronics stuff for a hobby. My butane iron is fine for work, but I need a better iron for boards and the like. Do you think its too early to get a temp control iron? Would a nice stand alone iron suffice for now? I'm not afraid to spend some money on a nice station but $100 is around the max I could budget now. My tool guy at work deals with Weller, so that would be convenient for a tad pricier set up. I'm greatful for any advice or help, and hope to have a project on here soon. Thank you

How do I connect my gaming headphone w/ mic that has 3 wires to a new jack that has 4 wires?

I have an older Turtle Beach headset I use for Xbox, but the jack that plugs into the controller is worn or just a tad too small, and does not keep a good connection. So I cut the jack off of an older headset that was broken so I could splice them together. But the jack end has four wires, a red enameled and a blue enameled, a white rubber coated copper, and a bare copper. The headset has the same, minus the white rubber coated copper. How do I connect these?

this is the dunkises BAW review. comfort: 9/10 - excellent comfort, pitty theres no foregrip. power: 6/10 - its got ok power, remember, its for close range. looks: 9/10 - it looks pretty cool. innovation: 9/10 - you can put magazines in the stock and the trigger is pretty cool. accuracy: 5/10 - not so great accuracy, remember, its for close range. piece usage: 8/10 - doesnt use tonnes of pieces, depends on how much knex you have. strenght: 7/10 - when you have no magazines inserted into the gun its a tad bit wobbly, nothing huge though. reliability: 6/10 - you may have to change the trigger a bit to get it to work and sometimes the mag falls out of the chamber. overall: 59/80 - its a great gun from the dunkis, but requires skill to make it.

Contest prize stuck in customs

I was recently shipped the Photography Tips and Tricks contest prize,, it got stuck in customs in India. I've received a few prizes in the past without any problem but it probably got stuck this time because of its high value. After a discussion with the FedEx folks, the total amount including custom duty(around 25-30%) will be around 34% of the total prize value, even after I told them I'm an individual and this is a contest prize. I understand that the contest rules state that I have to pay all custom duties and any other cost incurred. Any authors here who have faced any problems with customs and if this is the expected custom duty in India(seems a tad too high)? Any declaration(such as gift or prizes) which can help reduce the duty amount?

I have a question about making my own herbal extracts with alcohol, using fresh herbs...

I had a bunch of fresh herbs, and some home-distilled 180 proof alcohol that a friend brewed. SO, I thought I'd try to make some smelly stuff. I packed a jar with the fresh herbs, and filled it with the alcohol, plus a little tad bit of water. I let it sit for two weeks, and now it's ready to be strained. BUT, I'm not sure what to do with it. Do I use it to make a perfume, room spray, body spray? Can I use it to make an essential oil? Is what I now have called an herbal extract? One jar is fresh sage and rosemary, Jar 2 is rose geranium leaves and rose petals, Jar 3 is lemon verbena, and Jar 4 is lavendar and sage. All advice is welcome!

Arudino countdown timer? Answered

I'm looking to make a countdown timer for my local card shop for games of Magic (nerdy, I know). However, I think I jumped the gun, as I have no idea how to do this. My plan is to us an arduino nano/barebone arduino as the brains to this, make my own 4 digit 7 segment display, and have give it a programmable time (nothing over 50 minutes) along with a start, stop, and reset button. I've done quite a bit of looking, and have yet to find something that matches my needs or comes close to it so I can reverse engineer the code a bit. Any sort of help on this would be greatly appreciated! Should also mention I'm a tad bit of a newbie to C. I know enough to know where i need to look for a good chunk of things, but thats for simple things like "make this LED blink according to these random inputs"

"Convert a Aquarium Air Pump into an Adjustable Vacuum Pump" I'm trying to build something else and would like to see how this is done - i have one shot at one Aquarium air pump and don't want to mess it up. Plus i'd like to know how to regulate the vacuum - make it with adjustable vacuum pressure if possible - if i even really need to or at least regulate the vacuum pressure so it is not too much if it is after built. I'm sure i could do a google and find all the parts - thinik tank it out and build it... but if you know already how to do it - makes things a tad easier for me. The instrucable even easier to avoid mistakes. thanx - chase -

What tools would I require to change the timing belt and water pump in a 98 honda accord 4 cylinder? Answered

What tools would I require to change the timing belt and water pump in a 98 honda accord 4 cylinder 110k miles on it? What would I need and how long would it take? I have this toolset http://www.sears.com/shc/s/p_10153_12605_00939094000P?prdNo=24? and a 1 / 2 ratchet as well, a 4 ton - jack and jackstands. I only make about 150 a week (I'm a student) so the 750 the dealer wants is a tad too ridiculous. I have moderate experience doing car-work myself. (Brake pad/rotor changes, struct replacement, oil changes, distro cap/rotor changes. The reason I'm thinking about doing this is due to a leak which may be the water pump or heater hose. (I'm changing the heater hose this week) If you could description of required tools and recommended tools to make it easier that'd be great.

Which Cellphone watch with camera should I buy?

Hello, I want to buy a cellhpone watch with camera. I have a Casio Wristcam WQV-3 but it is broken and had only 0.25 Megapixel ;-) Unfortunaly there are many different models. The descriptions at ebay, dealextreme.com. sonicdigitals.info, eemobi.cn etc. are long but there is nothing about menus/usability, thickness, quality and so on. On youtube a few videos can be found, but not for all models. Maybee someone here has one? "Wishlist": 1.Cardslot, not internal only 2.1,3 Megapixel Cam. Sample Pictures? (Blog, Flickr, Own..) 3.Videorecording 4.Touchscreen 5.Writing/Grafiti, not only virtual keyboard 6.Sketchpad, even with the low resoulution 7.Thin (some are very thick) 8.J2ME or another posibility to write programms German letters would be nice, but optional. Should cost arround $200 incl. shipping+tax to europe or a tad more/less. Unfortunaly so far I could only find the q007 with Java/midp2 support, but it has only 128 MB build in and no extension slot. Thanks in advance!

Is it possible to apply too much current to devices? Answered

Again, another silly question. A lot of my projects are going to need batteries (as they will be used in props). I have a decent understanding of how electricity works and all that, as I have done quite a few things with it from the ground up (that is, I didn't copy a pre-existing set of plans). But with all the stuff I'm planning to do, I'm having issues keeping up with it all, mainly due to the fact that I am a tad unsure on amperage draw and amperage supply. For the sake of understanding for myself, lets say I try and run an arduino nano using a battery pack that spits out 12v/2a. Will the arduino only take what it needs, or will it try and take all of what it is given and 'burn' up. Alterativly, if I were to use a 5v/1a peltier element, will it also only pull what it needs, or will it burn up? I would assume the peltier would just burn, as it has no way to limit what it's pulling, while the arduino will regulate what it's getting. Thanks in advance!

LED Driver Help - 24 Leds, Red, 2.1-2.4 Drop, 700ma?

Hey everyone Been scratching my head for awhile now about this one. I believe I got the wrong drivers so I'm trying to figure out which one to get. I purchased these http://www.aliexpress.com/snapshot/266728353.html And I got this driver to run them http://www.aliexpress.com/snapshot/266728354.html But like I said, I'm running 24 in series not 18 and this drivers output is 680ma not 700ma I was going off the advice of a friend but I think he's wrong and I wasted my money (I can use them later though I'm sure) My question is Which LED Driver would be appropriate for these? If I increase the current (amps) would the wavelength change? It's just a tad lower then I wanted (more curious then anything) Can I alter the driver I got to accomidate the leds to save me money For future reference, how can I figure this out for myself Thanks guys, really hoping to hear back from you!

Large Scale Mould Making - the Evolution

I'm so excited, I now have + hours of video to cut and share :)Today we:Finished the split standSet the finished plug in the stand and aligned our waterlineBondo'd stand and plug for a flange lineApplied mold release waxSprayed PVA (Poly Vinyl alcohol)Applied a polyester tooling resin with cabosil (A silica thickener) to serve as the inner mold face (outer shape/surface of final product)Applied 4 layers of chopped fiber with polyester resin (took about an hour and we're still a tad bit high - even with good ventilation)Mind you the resin is catalyzed with MEK-P (Methyl Ethyl Keytone Peroxide -- some call it rocket fuel. It will eat the flesh off the bone and then eat the bone. Why am I so excited? Because we finished today and the catalyzed resin was COOK-ING. "Too hot to touch" is about 180 for the average meat human. It's well above too hot to touch - in fact, the radiant heat is a bit much for most meat peoples. And that's with the prescribed 1% catalyst.More information coming soon :) It's going to take 8 hours to capture all that video :PPhoto: Adding more PVA to the pot in the middle of the second coat.

Oodassault 3.8

I really need to stop now. I'm running out of numbers until I reach 4.0 T_T This one takes inspiration from killerk's futile attempts at improving a Dunkis weapon. Everyone knows that only the true master can improve his own weapons muahahhaha! Kidding... but I just didn't like how the magazine on his looks and you know me and how picky I am about fashionable practicality...if that exists. I left the entire back of the gun intact. The only major changes happened to the magazine. I did away with the tilter in favor of a locking magazine like the 3.3 and Killerk's version. And...that's pretty much it. It seems to be perfectly reliable but so was the 3.7. This one just doesn't require those mini k'nex adapters to do so. Oh actually I did modify the clips I use a bit so that you can keep them in the gun. This allows you to push them in without needing to lock the magazine and then fire the gun normally. I think you could use these with the 3.7 if you wanted to. So yeah, here's my video with a tad bit of Russian thrown in for no particular reason...I had some Coke before hand >_> And for some reason it won't embed so here's the link... K'nex Sniper thoughts?

I'm drawing up some mental plans for a Sniper rifle. I posted some non-gun k'nex projects but they were never as popular as weaponry. I know there's a tonne of K'nex snipers out there already, but most of them underneath the body are just a basic gun with a blue rod mag, and a lot of the time the mag isn't actually removable. Of course there's nothing wrong with this, I myself have made guns with this setup. However, for my new Sniper, I want a removable mag with lesser-used ammo. I was thinking either orange-connector+grey connector ammo or yellow rods. Basically I wanted to see what the community wants the most, aside from Oodammo, because that's a tad awkward! Also any suggestions as to what else I should add to my Sniper? I was thinking: Removable Mag, breach loading single shot chamber, rails (like ironman's), detachable scope and Bipod, rear monopod, true trigger (of course), pin guides and maybe a section where a small pistol can fit, probably TheDunkis' flat pistol or r3con's (spelling?) mod for it. Oh and maybe a heartbeat sensor for all the MW2 fans out there XD -Lowney

UMP-45 Redo

Alright so I was getting frustrated with my shotgun concept. Someone else can perfect it. I decided that after being asked if my old UMP-45 was worth building that it could probably use a tune up. So here's the new one. It's very similar to my old one but there are two main differences. First off, the barrel is longer. My old one was probably a tad too short. I have a feeling this one is too long but you can't really make one in between without getting complicated and it's pretty comfortable this way. The second main change is the barrel and firing pin. I used a hybrid type barrel using both a rod and connector barrel so that the ammo can fit through but so that the pin won't wobble. The firing pin uses the concept from my shotgun to be like a charging handle. It's a little further back but this was so the pin wouldn't fly out and I didn't want to move the trigger up + back barrel up. Sorry, I didn't bother taking a picture of the stock. I just made a quick, crude wire stock because I didn't have the pieces to make the full one from last time. I was hoping someone else would be able to take the gun and add a folding stock for me. I'm still working on the handle and thinking about changing the trigger guard because it'll get in the way of the trigger unless you hold it down. Finally I have to test the reliability of this gun. After all that, I'll post it. I'll get a video tomorrow if I get the chance. I might be going out of town though.

Underlying goal/purpose of having contests

What is the fundamental purpose of having Instructables Contests? To me, the idea of having contests in the arena of DIY is a tad odd. One of the biggest reasons I like to make things and do my own projects is that it is purely creative, and it is not in the least bit competitive. We all get to put in our two cents and help each other out and grow our collective knowledge. No matter how you spin it, for every 3 winners in a contest there are still dozens (hundreds) of losers. Of course, that's not saying that the losers have bad projects, but they still lost. Game over. One possible reason to have contests is to prompt more Instructables to be made in a certain category. Thus we have Burning Questions. But who says that the best "how to add" Instructable is submitted during the contest. The "best" one during the competition will win, but that's entirely relative to the competition. Now we have a WINNER "how to add" Instructable, which looks quite a bit more appealing to click on than any other similar submission, even if the others contain little snippets of awesomeness here and there that are above and beyond what is in the "winner." Now you have failed to capture and direct people to the best source of help on "how to add."There are many other reasons not to have competitions, but I'll leave it at this for now so that I don't write a book.Instead, why don't we try "Challenges" that have no deadline. Instructables can challenge the Instructables community to do projects in a certain category (just like contests) to push their agenda (reusing bottles, answering common questions, etc.). If you leave the "vote" feature active, you can then see them ranked by user preference, while never closing the field to new submissions.Let's get some friendly debate going! woo.

You Have Too Much Time On Your Hands

So right now I'm up late, preparing resume's, writing eMail, general get stuff done until exhausted mode... And this is bothering me (of all things)...Has anyone ever told you - "You have too much time on your hands?" Or have you ever seen someone say that someone else has "Too much time on their hands?"Does this bother you? Hearing other people say this... And what makes them so qualified to make this assertion?Because yes, people have said I have too much time on my hands after seeing some of my creations. Really? I have too much time on my hands? Hell, I've been working hard building this damn thing and I have too much time? Where exactly is this "time" - was I stroking off as it passed by only aware of the moments I was working on something? So what do you have to show for yourself for all the time you don't have? I mean, someone busy enough to claim someone else has "too much time" ought to have done something worthwhile. Perhaps I'm mounting a horse of appreciable height by saying the previous sentences - but how off base am I here? Does anyone else feel slightly perturbed by the too much time comment?Don't get me wrong - I don't expect everyone to like everything. But I'd much rather prefer someone saying "I don't like it" rather than claiming the efforts of my being are useless. AND, even when people do say such things - it doesn't stop me or prevent me from continuing, it's just a tad bit annoying in the not able to find a matching sock sort of way.

TBAG

Alright, well here's the gun I was talking about in my other thread. I'm doing pretty good, I actually got you guys a thread out the day after making the weapon. The name? It stands for TheDunkis' Bad A** Gun. Obviously, it doesn't mean worth crud. I just made it work out so it'd have the acronym TBAG =P. It's a rather basic weapon. It ties with the BAW for my favorite weapon based around simplicity. I decided to scrap the removable magazine idea and just make it breach load. You can chamber a round directly so you can fire it like a single shot or you can continue to force rounds in to load the magazine. It has a charging "handle" in the side of the stock. And then of course I have the optional sight that I made and never wanted to take apart. Y'know how hard it was getting the little suckers to bend into the connectors like that? The main feature of this gun though is its ability to fire multiple rounds of a new ammo I've been experimenting with. They're not made of K'nex. Rather, they're pen ink cartridges from those bigger, more expensive kind that I can't remember the name of. They're almost the exact same diameter as K'nex rods. They're rather lightweight but, like oodammo, the majority of the weight is focused on the front. It's also somewhat pointy so it's just a tad more aerodynamic and fun to shoot into objects =P. They're very accurate and stable without the use of fins or anything so they get decent range. Obviously I wouldn't fire them at a living thing but it did give me the idea of using some sort of foam armor or something so that you could keep track of hits and such. Anyways, I like the feel of it. It's rather balanced and compact enough without being awkward to handle. I'm probably going to tape the handle. Expect a video tomorrow. I'm not sure when I'll post but might do it this weekend if I have the time.

Unable to program an Arduino micro. Any ideas on how to fix this? Answered

I've been working on a project for some time now, and I plan to embed an arduino micro into it. As such, I just went to do a dry run of the setup with the micro before I started putting it all together. And failed miserably. Few things to get out of the way: -It is an off-brand, but it does have the ATMega 328 at it's core. -My computer (win7) does recognize it, although it's as a USB Serial Port (com6) and not an arduino micro -I am using the 1.0.5 IDE -My PC will only see the micro as a USB Serial port on one of my USB ports. On the others, it sees it as a USB hub (and a failed one at that) -I have tried to manually update the drivers (by pointing windows to the driver folder): it will only say that the correct driver is installed (either the Serial Port or USB Hub) and refuse to go past that -I also tried to manually assigning the driver via "I have the disc" only to have my PC blue-screen -I have powercycled. Too many times to count. -I have tried with another micro: same issue -I have tried without anything connected shy of the USB cord and free hanging, to ensure nothing metal was touching it -The IDE does have the correct setting (correct board selected and COM port) -I've tried several sketch (mostly those from the "Example" section of the IDE) and each time I get the same error -I have tried holding the on-board reset button while uploading, letting go just at the moment the IDE says "Uploading" With what I hope is the obvious stuff covered (though chances are I did miss something stupid, and thats whats causing this) the error I get is as follows: Binary sketch size: 5,190 bytes (of 28,672 byte maximum) Found programmer: Id = "B< Software Version = . ; Hardware version = . avrdude: error: buffered memory access not support. Maybe it isn't a butterfly/AVR109 but a AVR910 device? I als thought that maybe the bootloader was bad (I'm a tad of a noob to this, so I'm not 100% sure of the above error can be caused due to a poor bootlader) and tried to upload it. This pops up: avrdude: Error: Could not find USBtiny device (0x1781/0xc9f) Any help would be greatly appreciated!

The best car ad ever made

A family member sent me this ad that was posted on craigslist, while it was the most explicit ad I've ever seen, I'd prefer this over any normal ad. Enjoy those who feel comfortable reading this. DISCLAIMER: I bleeped (****) out any explicit words...... Though I could have missed s-something. And explicit's definition is different between people Side note: If anyone thinks this is a tad (or more than a tad) over the top, PM me or reply saying so. I'll delete it. - - - If you think you'll be offended by this ad... DON'T READ IT. - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - POS 1994 Honda Civic LX for sale - $600 (Marietta, GA) Date: 2010-07-11, 4:49PM EDT Reply to: sale-63pgj-1837513434@craigslist.org [Errors when replying to ads?] That's right, you can own a piece of shi... history right now for only $600. You may wonder why I didn't post a picture and that's because with a car this crappy, a photo is not needed. Just imagine the worst possible car and then picture a camel taking a dump in the trunk and you'll have a close approximation. You don't need to worry about me lying... it really is a POS. There is no risk of you getting over here and finding out it's really a gorgeous gem worth thousands... that doesn't happen...ever. But if for some reason that's actually happened to you, then you are acquainted with a crazy cosmic karma that has never thought to even piss in my face. I almost had a date on PlentyofFish and you know what happened? The f***ing AC died. For two years while I was not dating, it worked fine. The day after I get digits, the AC craps out. The car also has a weird hesitation problem that was not fixed even when I replaced the fuel filter. What could cause all of these things? Satan in the drive train...that's right... it's rare, but it happens to guys like me. This car is actually demon-possessed so you can forget about any sort of easy fix. Jesus said you need faith to cast out demons like this and believe me there are only two people on the planet that have that sort of faith. One guy lives in a cave in India and the other guy is dead. And you can forget about the guy in the cave helping you because, if you can find him, he's just going to tell you how physical setbacks are really spiritual blessings...blah blah blah...yada yada yada. Exactly. Don't expect sympathy from any motherf***er that sits around in his underwear in a cave. Other problems with this car include busted boots on the tie-rod ends, busted wheel hub boots, broken AC, leaking power steering system, ABS light always on, check-engine light comes on occasionally, driver window sometimes comes off the track, paint has permanent dirt in it (yes, it's f***ing permanent...you can't scrub it out with anything less than sandpaper or some highly explosive chemical that causes cancer in 49 states and erectile dysfunction in the 50th.) The car does drive, but that's about all it's good for. Good luck getting it to pass emissions. I've never tried as it's still registered in Clarke County. If you want to date, this car is probably not for you. On a positive note though, I can assure you no one has ever had sex in it. It would take a miracle to get a girl to even sit in this car, much less take her clothes off in it. Other possible uses for this car included entertainment at frat parties. You could charge people $5 a swing with a baseball bat, although you still probably wouldn't recover your investment. You might be able to sell it to the Mythbusters and get the to test the myth, "Is it possible that a car could really be this s***ty?" Adam Savage and Kari Byron will have a field day and close it off with "Myth f***ing confirmed" and a side comment from Kari about how whatever d*****bag use to own it must have never been laid. There are some positives like a beautiful Lumar 32% tint job, keyless entry with remote trunk release, an Alpine CD Player, and Pioneer speakers in the door. So at worst, you can sit in your driveway and listen to music with a bottle of Jergens and a picture of Eliza Dushku. I really wouldn't recommend taking it on the road until you replace the tie-rod ends. You might crash into a bus full of nuns and then the Pope will reign motherf***ing hail fire down on your betrodden a** with more fury than the inquisition because you actually decided to drive and be seen in such an amazing POS, killing 20 of his lovely Sisters. One other thing you might use this car would be pushing it off a cliff. If you've ever wanted to see what it's like first hand for a car to fall hundreds of feet and smash against rock, then here's your chance. Although don't be surprised if this demon-possessed sleigh from hell manages to f*** up your good time even in that bold scenario. I don't know how it would, but it would probably figure out a way. If there are any parents out there reading this, don't let your children fall into the situation I'm in. I would never have ended up with this car if I had pursued a real career. But instead I majored in math where the best job I can find now is up in Portland with a bunch of bran muffin eating hippies, jerking off Moose for 75 cents a smile for some wildlife conservation sperm bank. Let your kids do something with good with their future, like wait tables at Denny's. Oh yeah... it's white, 4 doors, and automatic. Whooptie-f***in-do!

TheDunkis's M4 Carbine

Ok well I really wanted to make my own to show my friends and even my dad for self satisfaction but I decided seeing that we don't have an M4 that both looks good and works great that I'd show you guys too. Uh let's see I'll just make my pros and cons list for a basic run down of my gun then I'll explain in better detail below that. Pros -30 white rod rounds med-cap magazine may become detacheable with simple mods (it's set up to be I just fixed in there for more support) -Cocking handle set up on firing pin to reset the pin then slide back automatically so pin is not in your way -4 sided rail system can have many features attached to it -true trigger Cons -Stock is only decently strong as I'm working on making it adjustable -Trigger guard area may be small for bigger hands but easily modable (it's a little tight for me and I have very small hands :( ) -Back sight need's to be secured in it's position while front sight may spin out of place. I'm working on this -Hard to muzzle load anything other that a grey rod and this still requires a tad bit of work -Near mid magazine it might jam if you fill it with ammo to that point -Uh I can't remember anything else but I'll be sure to list any more that I find. OK for details It uses another curved magazine (yes I like curved magazines) although it only uses joints and no bendies. 30 rounds like I said although if you fill it up to a certain point you may potentially jam it unless you watch carefully. It has the potential to become detacheable on how I made it but for now I just added a couple pieces to make sure it wont just fall out or wabble. It uses a basic but strong firing pin with a cocking handle system that is rigged to pull back the firing pin but then slide back into position so that you may rest your cheek to aim without the firing pin in your way. It uses a basic true trigger mechanism that I don't know who invented I just remember seeing it somewhere then I modified it to work in my gun. It uses a pretty simple idea for making a 4 sided rail system. I swear I did not take this idea from any other guns although I've seen one just recently that uses a similar system. For the sights I made a small peep hole for the back and then I just use one of those orange "handle" connectors or whatever you want to call them for the front blade. I'm trying to make the stock adjustable but for now I just have it fixed. Hopefully I get a picture up soon. Hmm either the spell check isn't working or I typed a perfect paragraph! By the way I really want to make another video soon so I might use this gun for a video. I'll most likely only get videos of guns with either a lot of features or ones with a new mechanism.

The massivly long details for Chromehounds: Tribute Edition

Unless you've seen my original post, go to https://www.instructables.com/community/Chromehounds-shall-rise-again-at-least-I-hope-/ These are my basic ( and many ideas about the game) IDEA 1 : Rebuild::: --------------------------------------------- I will probably start with this then move to idea 2, or I could base the project on the original and release the beta, then I'll add an expansion to include the original tutorial missions in the final. --------------------------------------------- IDEA 2: Sequeal::: --------------------------------------------- This would be based 20 years after the Neroimus Wars, about 2040 (something like that, still working on it). Rafzakael has stopped operations leaving mercenaries scattered throughout the region. The peace that lasted after the wars was short lived, due to imperialistic moves by all three nations. The second Neroimus War starts after Morskovian forces attack a Sal Kar Village and a Tarakian patrol receives an incorrect order and destroys a Morskovian patrol. New advances in technology allows hounds to be stronger, take more damage, but these changes are countered by even more powerful weapons. Features: - Unidentified Weapons (M99, MSK-X0, Ghalib) can end up on the same battlefield and are a tad more common. (still once per war) - Experimental weapons will actually work - In ranked matches it's possible to lose parts (up for debate) - That stupid news feature it shows at the beginning will be accessible only through a menu. - Some current day weapons (Railguns, guided missiles, etc. But these will be limited by extreme weight, power, and cool-down time). - Some requested parts (TBD (to be determined)) - "Modded" parts (trade offs on certain parts; higher power for more heat, or more damage for less range and such) - Preserves tactical feel and maybe some HUD modifications - PC only for the time being. It's a major pain to get stuff on the Xbox. - A website where people can share their hound set ups and download them to the game. - New stat system for hounds and parts. - Multiplayer (can't give many details yet, probably LAN at first, but I'll see what I can do with UDK) - Variable weather on some maps - Also some new multiplayer maps. - Maps will still be basic to help out lower powered computers - Low spec mode will be able to be used. - A Java based utility app will be included(includes squad rankings, scores, parts that you have, also includes a builder so you can build hounds while the battle is finishing). - Online sync for parts so cheaters can't get free parts. - Possibly some kind of tournament that's run (maybe ever 2-3 months, to be voted) - "Death Cam" lets you watch your allies while your dead, rather than running around with a useless assault rifle. - Other ideas/ concepts can be requested and voted on, and any of these ideas can be voted on also. --------------------------------------------- That's about all I have for now, it will be about march when I release the final (sooner if I can get community help). --------------------------------------------- Help wanted:: --------------------------------------------- - Screenshots - 3-d models - Voices - Sounds - Maps (made in UDK please) - Ideas/ concepts - Storyline - Practically anything else attributed to the game. --------------------------------------------- Websites:: --------------------------------------------- - http://chromehounds.addicted-gamer.com/ (great for part/ game info) - http://chromehoundste.blogspot.com/ The main site for now. - http://www.indiedb.com/members/nerdman234 Secondary site for updates - http://www.westwindpmc.net/forums/viewforum.php?f=5 Yet another site I post on. ------------------------------------------- Whew.... /rant -Nerdman234 Chromehounds is not my original idea, Sega and From Software created it. I am merely recreating it.

Well this " I like x " thing became complicated Answered

TL;DR version at the bottom, below the line Oh you know, just one of those " I like x " situations, except with a twist. So yeah, I like this girl, we talk for short the small short talk (lasts for about 0.8 seconds). She might know that I have a crush on her (since about 30% of the class knows, of which 80% are friends with this person), but I'm uncertain. Either way, I'm not shy about that. The problem lies in the fact that the 24% of the class that's friends with her knows. Normally, they're always with / around her, which makes talking with her (in the first place) already challenging. Imagine maybe 4 people interrupting your conversation only 2 seconds in. It's like trying to play a video game with the worst ping ever; your talk getting interrupted and all. I would just like to have a chat with her that lasts over 15 seconds, at least, that doesn't involve official business (all talks with her so far involved school projects and such). To my assessment, she's astoundingly similar yet the opposite of me... She's simple, yet highly organized (that's me). She doesn't wanna stand out (like me). Generally silent, shy and reserved (somewhat like me, most of the time anyways). Now here's the part I would like to relate to, but I don't know how: music. She plays the piano, and I play the violin. Now, these are performing arts; you perform these in front of people. We don't play the same instruments, therefore we can't talk about it. Composing a piece? Not a chance. That's my work mode wherein I become secluded from the world (bad impression). Intention: I would just like to make friends, thank you very much (did it last year, too, though without the complications) Age: 13 turning 14 (me) and she's 13 More details: -Freshmen -I can control myself, thank you Additionally: I don't know if she likes me or not. I just need to become friends with her to clear some things up and... make more friends? I'm not bringing my hopes up, though. I have an opportunity to start off our friendship (which is due in less than a week), since we have this Christmas party going and we're supposed to have a gift exchange with a "randomly chosen" person which is done by just pulling out folded pieces of paper and.. yeah, there's the name. The wishlist is simple, yet a tad pricey (just roughly $10, but compared to my allowance). This is getting too long Questions: -How do I make friends now? -How do I sustain this? I'm not good at making friends. I either attract them to me or it was a need that developed. __________________________________________________________________________________________________________ TL;DR version: I like a girl and I want to make friends with her, but then I can't talk with her because of massive external social pressure from her ever-present friends that know I have a crush on her. How can I approach her and sustain our friendship? Thank you.

Guess My Mileage Contest!

In about two weeks, I will be embarking on a nearly 2000 mile road trip from the "right" coast to the "left" coast of the United States. I will send the person that guesses my fuel economy over the entire trip a $10 (USD) bill and 1 instructables patch.Rules1. Thou Shall Not Exceed My Mileage2. Thou Shall Guess a Number Ending in the Thousandths (xx.xxx)3. Thou Shall not guess a previously guessed number4. Thou Shall guess MPG (please no l/100km et. al. - just to keep the rules more simple)a. If no one guesses exactly, the guess closest, but not exceeding the real number wins.b. If two people guess the same number - see rule 3. The first person's guess is validc. You can change your guess by replying to your original guess - once your guess is changed, it can be taken by someone else.d. Guesses that do not accurate to the thousandth will be ignoredHere's some clues to assist your guessing.Car2000 Volkswagen Jetta2.0L Naturally Aspirated Gasoline Engine ~110hp ratedCurrently 102,xxx Miles on the Odometer5 Speed Manual GearboxOil change ~1500 miles ago (it will not be changed for another 9-10K miles)Tires inflated to 50/55 HOT - these are all seasonsGrille Blocked OffPassenger Mirror Folded in (possibly will be removed)Scanguage2 to monitor coolant temperature, trip mpg, TPS etc.CargoPossibly 1 mini fridge >100lbsMe: ~130lbsPassenger ~150lbsTwo suitcases (one will not exceed 50lbs)Possibly a third suitcase (not exceeding 50lbs)Lets tack on an additional 200lbs for things I'm not seeing nowEPA Estimates24mpg City31mpg Highway27mpg CombinedMeI use hypermile driving techniques... That is:1. Accelerate based on Brake Mean Fuel Consumption Charts (~2500-3000 RPM - 50% throttle = most efficiency)2. Coast and Burn with 3+++:1 coast-burn ratio (engine either off or idle)3. Engine Off at stoplights and approach4. Windows UP - AC OFF (this may change, but that's currently how I'm riding | AC will trump windows)5. I will not exceed the speed limit - I may travel below for optimal fuel economy6. Bump Start where applicable (following the same method the Prius uses to start its ICE)RouteCurrently being discussed and looked over. I20 is looking promising, but it's up in the air.GaslogPlease take this with a grain of salt. I only just recently started hypermiling (beginning of April lets say). So only the last tank (which was 100% city) reflects that.My GaslogCalculationCalculation will be based off the sum of the miles (accurate to the tenth) divided by the sum of the fuel pumped (accurate to the thousandth). Everything will be based on receipt, not scangauge2 data.ChangesThis is the section that I post changes to my car, cargo etc.. A change can be as basic as a bit more anticipated weight or as drastic as major aerodynamic modification or mechanical. A possible change may be a hot air intake. Finally, a note about my oil changes.... I send an oil sample to Blackstone Labs for oil analysis. My last oil change interval was a tad over 10K miles -- and the lab report indicated my oil was still good - everything was good except a slightly high Cu level. Not in the danger zone, but something to watch. My point is... Don't give me any crap about 3K miles - I like my oil films established and don't need constant oil changes screwing that up -- that's why I pay for oil analysis (besides, it comes out cheaper in the end anyway).

Haptic Feedback Meditation (E-Meditation)

Hello, I am a 17 year old electronic hobbyist. I am in the process of making a "Haptic Feedback" meditation device. I give the whole project story here. If you are just interested in the final project you can skim or skip to the "Testing" section. THE IDEA Many months ago (when i was not so knowledgeable about electronics) I had an idea. I wanted to be able to see my thoughts as I thought them. I was obsessed with the idea of this and the thought of what would happen( imagine holding up a microphone to a pair of speakers). I could imagine myself staring at my own thoughts (or a colorful representation of them) for hours. I imagined it to be a "New Generation" of meditation. I drew up a few sketches of what this would look like and.. I hit a wall. At the time. I knew absolutely no way to do this. I just knew it was possible. I put the project on the back burner. CONSTRUCTION Six months passed and I had gotten better and better at electronics and micro-controllers and such. A month ago, I started obsessing over it again. I did some internet searches about this type of technology and all the gibberish started making sense. Not before long. I had ordered the parts for it. It cost me a good 100 dollars in birthday money. But it was well worth it and i do not regret the purchase's at all. The three main pieces were a Micro-controller(arduion uno), a brain-wave reading headset(from an expensive childs toy) and a 7 inch by 3 inch RGB led panel( a fancy panel that makes different colors and patterns). Despite knowing a little bit about electronics I was out of my depth, yet still addicted to the project. Long story longer, I had tested the three pieces of technology and they all worked beautifully. With my limited supplies i busted open the headset, made some solder joints, plugged it into the micro-controller, plugged the micro-controller into the computer, and plugged the brain reader into me. Someone before me had already made sample brain viewing programs in the processing language for these kinds of projects and i downloaded it. I turned on the program and flinched as i turned on the headset( being plugged into your laptops battery can be a tad unnerving). I was looking at a graph of my brainwaves in a system of line graphs and bars. TESTING This was exciting stuff. I sat there for perhaps an hour just staring at my brainwaves shortly noticing a pattern emerging from just simply staring at even the brain reading program. I noticed the more I stared at my brainwaves looking for the next sudden jump or dip. The less they did. In other words, actively TRYING to move my brainwaves, almost completely nullified them. This was very interesting. I took the device and my laptop to my school To get an accurate sample, I allowed any and everyone who wanted plug themselves in to go right ahead. As they messed with thier hair to get it to fit right and turned it on. What was seen for a few seconds was a (what I consider healthy) measure of brain activity. Everything was jumping up and down at varying levels. But after the subject began staring at this dance. The brain activity shrank and shrank until little was left to be observed. Occasionally depending on the situation the subject would then get bored with the lack of activity and try and make some sort of small talk. It then showed a small rising in overall brainwaves that was immediately crushed by the subjects attention toward the screen. In the initial planning, this was the last possibility I had considered. With accidental electrocution being higher on my list of possibilities. The grandiose plan of mixing my thoughts and ideas in front of my eyes shrank. I was loving every second of it. I then later plugged the panel into the device and began writing code to make it react the way i wanted it to. I had programmed the panel to display the color blue when meditation was high and red when attention was high. Purple would occur during a balance of the two. I then took out my computer from the equation as a reader and decided to see what would happen by just watching these two stats work themselves out on a color panel. I got similar results. When I was actively attempting to meditate while simultaneously watching my level of meditation it was an unwavering red. Deep breaths and glances away from the panel would bring purple to blue colors. Then I tried something completely different. I attempted to radiate unconditional love for my brainwaves. I accepted them for their want to be attentive and alert. And embraced them with as much sincerity as I could. The panel turned purple and stayed blue for as long as i could keep this state up without wavering. "Wow" i remember remarking. I may have created the worlds first "Unconditional Love bench press". And your up to speed. FUTURE I have some ideas for the future of this project but I have caught myself in a mental enigma. How would one meditate to the thoughts of their meditation without their monitoring of the brainwaves getting in the way? Or have I missed the point of meditation which might be to have no thoughts? Ideas and suggestions would be great. I would love to hear what this community would have to offer to this device. Input on meditation? Input on the technical stuff? All is welcome.
