Tiny turbos?

Hey I was wondering if anyone had any idea if there are tiny turbos out there, One's that could be used in a jet engine. You see my [https://www.instructables.com/id/The-accidental-pocket-jet-engine.../ jet engine] doesn't generate thrust in any real quantity but I had a great idea for a design that would be tiny and possibly capable of being used in some more interesting projects, only I need a turbo of some sort...

tiny addressable components

Hello everyone, I've got a question and am hoping someone can point me to the right places to figure this out. I am an avid r/c tinkerer. A question I have though, is: Is it possible to take your standard r/c servo, and install something into it to make it addressable? Why I want to do this is that I want to be able to control things from my handheld radio system beyond the 6/7 channel systems I have now, but not have to buy a radio system that will cost upwards of a thousand dollars to do more with it. I know, it will probably be easier to buy the uber-radio and just shell out the cash...I'd rather learn how to create something like this myself and learn some more electronic gadgeteering along the way :) I don't even know if thats the right approach, so, if you have ideas on this I am all ears and would love to hear from you. Thanks so much for reading this and I am quite looking forward to hearing some ideas! :) -Mike

Tiny Raised Letters?

I am looking for tiny raised characters, somewhere around size 10 font or smaller. It doesn't matter what they are made of, but I need the entire alphabet, preferably multiples of each character . The 'Made In China' text you find on almost anything plastic is the character size I'm in search of. Anyone have any ideas? Label maker characters are too large. I didn't see any rubber stamps with tiny characters at the local craft stores. I don't know if Ponoko can cut characters this small, but I don't think I could get something back from them in time.  Thanks!!!

Tiny timer with display

Hi I want to make a timer - a very small one - for using in school, for cookling and so on... It needs to have a display with at least four digits, five buttons(reset, on/off, start/stop, minutes and hours). I'm planning on powering it by a CR2032, or another button-sized battery. Does anyone have schematics or circuits I could have a look at? In advance, thank you:)

Can anyone point me to a good source for specialty LEDs?

I am  looking for someplace that sells miniature LEDs. My wife has a clothing project she is working on, and I am trying to add some light accents to it for her, but what I need for the project are tiny LEDs, preferably < 3mm in size. I have never soldered electronic projects before, so complete devices with coin or smaller batteries would be great, but I could learn to solder some simple circuits if I had to. Thanks in advance for any help and resources folks can pass along. All your help is greatly appreciated :-)

Need fine soldering help

I need help soldering some fine three conductor (two plus shield) to a batch of ten very tiny Knowles SiSonic MEMS microphones: http://www.digikey.com/product-detail/en/SPV0840LR5H-B/423-1214-1-ND/4376286 2.75mm L x 1.85mm W x 1.00mm H I have some yards of the coax on a spool that a tech friend gave me long ago and have no idea where I could get more.  It is flattened and is narrower and thinner than the MEMS.  Picture included of cable, MEMS and a sewing pin for reference. My 70 year old hands are just not still enough any more for the task (if they ever were) and I'm willing to pay to get it done.  Getting the coax end splayed for the photo seriously taxed my ability.  :-)

Tiny portable printer - Will pay

Hello everyone. I need someone to come up with the plans or the finished product of a really small portable printer around the size of a Galaxy SII (or iPhone) but twice the height (thickness) at most. It must be able to print on a strip of paper about 2-6cm wide. It must be able to print a dot-matrix like text. The size of the text must be somewhat adjustable. It must print ASCII characters and maybe some symbols. The line of text to be printed will look like this: ID0001||25AUG{}12:55 No need for paper feeding or anything. It should operate like: place the paper in the tray, press a button/buttons, remove the paper. The ink should last for at least ten prints before replacing and the device must have a rechargeable battery. I would prefer if you make an instructable out of it as well but it is not mandatory. If you can deliver kindly send me a private message here with your offer.

Tiny Programable board for 2 LEDs?

Greetings, I'm looking for advice on how to make and get and effect on a project I'm working on. Basically what I'm wanting is to have 2 LEDs (which will be a set of eyes) that will have random sequences of blinking and change at random intervals. Something that isnt constant and overly repetitive, more natural and subtle. I've never done something like this to this level quite before so I'm looking for something intuitive and simple if possible. The space I have to work in is extremely small too, like less then 2 inches squared. It also needs to be run by battery, however that part doesn't have to be within the small space if need be, although it would be preferred. Would raspberry Pi, work/be a good option? I've NEVER used it before. I've also heard about "Arduino". Would that possible work? Are their better options/suggestions? I really dont know what I'm doing here. Hhahaha Thanks -JXZ

Attempting to create tiny, wearable, covert, simple button click counter for behavioral mod

Hi all, I've been searching both this forum and the internet in general and strangely have not come across what I'm looking to do even though to me it seems very simple. Here are the specifications/requirements of the device that I am trying to create: -extremely tiny form factor (ideally a ring sized device but I'll settle for a thin bracelet) -unobtrusive/inconspicuous (I guess a thin bracelet that could hide under a sleeve might be best) -battery powered/untethered (This is essential. The device would be useless if depended on a connection to a computer or wall socket) -battery life must last a full day -data logged is just a simple time/day stamp that would indicate when a button was clicked by the wearer      (wearer would manually click the button during the day when certain thoughts came up for him/her)       This requirement indicates that the micro controller chosen would need a clock built in and        some kind of storage - be able to upload the data to a computer I did my preliminary research considering these requirements and I came up with the following electronic components that might work: - teensy 3 (has real time clock and 2K EEPROM which should be plenty of memory for storing date stamps) - ulog (1MB of usable space across 3 analog channels, couldn't find anything about a built in clock) - Pro Micro - 3.3V/8MHz (not sure about built in real clock  but storage is 32K flash space) - OpenLog (wasn't clear about how much built in storage and didn't see any build in real time clock) These are the best I could find. If anyone has better suggestions please let me know? My idea is to connect a Mini Push Button Switch to one of the digital inputs on one these micro controllers/data loggers and write a simple sketch that records the time the button was pushed in a MMDDYYhhmm format (10 bytes per click). To power any of these micro controllers/data loggers I was planning to use a Coin Cell Battery - 12mm. I was going to sew the micro controllers/data loggers on one side of a thin piece of material that would serve as a bracelet and sew the battery on the other side. Although I'm not sure how to fix the battery to the cloth and how to connect it to the micro controllers/data loggers. I'm guessing I could find some kind of battery holder for the 12mm cell battery? Other Questions about my assumptions: Will I have enough storage left over on the flash space or EEPROM to store the data click after the sketch code has been loaded in? Will a watch battery provide enough energy to run this device all day? Is the Coin Cell Battery - 12mm the correct external power source for this project? I encourage any feed back, criticism, comments, help of any kind to move me along with this preparation so that I can move forward and purchase the parts I need. Thanks! Michael

Tiny Wind Turbines that Could Power a Home

Everybody wants to have a cleaner Earth, but few of them take any actions. One of those people is Doug Selsam, who designed high-power wind turbines that can generate enough energy to power a home. The wind turbines measure about 14-18 inches in diameter and they can generate an impressive amount of 200 watts for a 20 mph wind, but the wind turbines could do better if the winds are stronger.Selsam's wind turbines are made of high-strength carbon fiber materials which give the turbines the possibility to be hooked as one. This system is very simple and it weighs a bit, as you see, it can be held in one hand. For the moment, there is no word about release date or availability, therefore I can only say that it's an interesting conceptOriginal Link (via Device Daily)

How about a teeny tiny power supply??

I've seen some pretty good power supply projects on here. Here's a challenge: Make a 5 to 12 volt power supply that can fit into a 1 cubic inch space, of any dimensions, i.e. 1"x 1" x 1" or 1/2" x 2" x 1", etc, including any enclosure. It must put out at least 300ma sustained and must have a fairly smooth voltage regulation for use with other electronics (of course). It must have clear schematics without the use of special programs to view, i.e. it shouldn't be in an eagle format or rather can be viewed with paint, or any of the other picture viewers. It must be powered from the mains and NOT use a microcontroller or any custom chips. The smaller it is, the better, and less than 1 cubic inch is excellent. I've seen real genius on here. Is this genius ready to try this?

Really Mini Shocker?

Hi all, I am looking to build a really miniature, low-output shocker device and I've come a bit stuck. I'm looking for the device to be able to deliver no more than a distinct nip, and be about the size of a Cr2032 cell. I also would like a miniaturised power source like that. Can anyone tell me if this is possible and point me in the right direction as to parts and where to get them (I'd like to salvage as many parts as possible because I'm on a tight budget).
