my websites cookies are being disabled by my dot.tk domain extension, will.com do the same thing?

Hello, currently i am making an online store for which i require cookies , soon i plan on giving my site a .com domain name, but for now im keeping it as .tk. however, after finnaly learning how to use cookies, i found my .tk extension somehow blocks cookies from being used by the website! is there a way to fix this? and when i buy a .com extension, will it do the same thing? heres a link to my testing site, without the .tk extension http://ombj.uphero.com/jpoopdog/testing%20site/cookie.html and here is a link to the site with the extension jpoopdog.tk click on the "testing site " link at the bottom of the page. the .tk url remains the same all throughout the site odly! all javascript used is on the pages themselves, and can be viewed via view page source in your web browser. i am not using any .js files for this, and do not wish to either.

Trakpower TK-950 soldering station worth it?

Hey guys! I bought a Chinese knock off 60W variable temp soldering iron for $15CAD and used it intensively for more than a year now and the end of the part holding the tip just started to rust away and doesn't hold the tip in place anymore. Needless to say, I have enough of this and want to get a decent soldering iron, I was planning to get the Hakko FX888D as you can't get the analog knob model anymore but it's only available online from the US and comes up to $180-200CAD with the shipping which is way too expensive. I can get the TrackPower TK-950 (TeamCheckpoint TC-950 is basically the same one but the older version) for $130CAD with a 5 years warranty at my local store, it seem like a clone of the Hakko 936 but what kind of quality is it? Perhaps like the Yihua? If you guys know anything about it or any other recommendations on soldering stations I can get for around the same price with better quality in Canada, it'd be great! I do a lot of soldering through hole only for now and I also do a lot of desoldering, this is how I get most of my electronic components so I need a soldering station that will last me for a while and that doesn't smell like a Chinese knock off out of the box. Thanks for your time. :) -Electrospark

Why not use a potential divider in power adaptor?

I thought I could put a bridge rectifier directly after the mains and then pass this through two high value and high(ish) wattage of resistor to act as a potential divider and bring it down to 5v. Why would this not be possible?

Controlling Amperage

Hiyas, I was wondering if you could point me in the right direction. I was wanting to build or buy something I could control Amp input. The system would be 12 -14 v dc and I want to be able to limit the input to say... 25 - 30 amps. So if a system would naturally draw more amps I want to be able to control the system be limiting the amp input...if that is making any sense. Got any thoughts ??? tks Huchleberry

Is there a (easy, cheap) way to capture biogas from legacy cesspools and how can/would one use such energy capture?

I have a rural property with 3 legacy cesspools that were dug in the 1960's. Cesspools are essentially underground chambers that are hermetically sealed from the surface but which let fluids leach out through the bottom and sides. Our waste water drains into the cesspools. One cesspool gets no poop, just graywater. The others get the full mix. My understanding is that poop and everything else that goes down the drain decomposes anerobically. So I wonder is there something interesting to do to capture some energy...? tks. I

Tutorial downloaded PDF has no images

I just upgraded my account so i would be able to download PDF versions of the instructables i like and want to try. I just downloaded my first instructable ( https://www.instructables.com/id/Monster-Monkey-Fist-with-Pool-Ball/?ALLSTEPS ) and found that the images are not included in the downloaded version. Is this correct? If this is the case the instructables would become very hard to follow indeed and defeats the point of me having upgrading my account. C an someone tell me if this is correct and the pictures as displayed on each instructables page are not actually included on their PDF downloads? If this is the case how do i go about getting my money back as this was not made clear and i feel it is somewhat misleading.

Making translucent, glowing cubes. Best shell material choice?

I'm making eight, seamless 15 cm3 cubes that will be translucent and have a glossy finish. They will be lit up (with LEDs, etc.) so the entire cube appears to glow, but there is a base side which will always be on the bottom (it doesn't have to be made of this material.) Sturdiness is desired (they will be in transit at some point), as well as low cost. The solutions I have in mind at this point are: Frosted acrylic/perspex glued together Some form of cloudy resin cast into a single-piece shell I imagine that the resin would have a better overall appearance if it goes well, but it sounds expensive and complicated. The perspex solution may have a less appealing end result due to the edges between each face. Please suggest alternate solutions if you can think of some! Thanks for your help. TK.

no fog

  I dont know the mechanics fog machines,so heres a problem u probably already heard,or know about.. I have a cheapy  400 watts Gemmy (about 6 or 7  years old). I pulled it out of the attic thinking it needed a good cleanout before halloween. I mixed up a 50/50 bottle of white vinegar and distilled water - turned it on and got one good 20-30 second burst from it.On 2nd burst a little leftover came out then nothing.Still heats up hot and I can hear pump humming when i trigger the remote. Next, I empty the tank and tried straight fog juice and still nothing.I emptied the tank  and cleaned the tank filter tried it all again and still nothing...Could it be somewhere in the solid copper tubing from the pump to the heater and how do I clean that?   I did however store it without fog juice in it..(empty),could that a cause of problum ?  Please help.. TKS.

Arduino - Python GUI

Hi all, I'm using arduino for a while now. For my purposes I was using matalb to communicate with it. I want to move to python now. I started building my first python gui to control my arduino program. The problem: I'm trying to pass a sentence which contains python's entry values to arduino, but for some reason the arduino doesn't read it. The codes are written here. Arduino code #define LED 13 void setup() {   pinMode(LED, OUTPUT);   pinMode(2,OUTPUT);   Serial.begin(9600); } void loop() {   if (Serial.available()) {     char c = Serial.read();     if (c == 'H') {       digitalWrite(LED, HIGH);       digitalWrite(2,HIGH);     }     else if (c == 'L') {       digitalWrite(LED, LOW);       digitalWrite(2,LOW);     }   } } Python code from tkinter import * import serial import time ser = serial.Serial('com7', 9600)  # com7 need to be changed for linux ^%&*^$%&$%&$%^&###@@@ time.sleep(0.2) # ser.close() print('serial communication started') def pent(ard):     s = entry1.get()     c = bytes(s, 'utf-8')     ard.write(c)     time.sleep(0.5)     # ard.write(b'H')  # the b before 'H' is conversion to bytes. needed for arduino.     print("LED ON")     time.sleep(0.5)     ard.write(b'L')     print("LED OFF")     time.sleep(0.5) root = Tk() RTitle = root.title("LaserOdorPython") root.minsize(200, 200) root.maxsize(1400, 850) root.geometry("300x500") label1 = Label(root, text='Odor#\Laser', font=11) entry1 = Entry(root) label1.place(x=10, y=20, width=90, height=20); entry1.place(x=120, y=20, width=90, height=20) button1 = Button(root, text='single pulse', font=8, command=lambda: pent(ser)) button1.place(x=100, y=140, width=90, height=30) root.mainloop()

Life changes, New Boots! Not to mention a suit...

Well I finally went clothes shopping, a rare occurrence for me. Mainly I was looking for new boots, my old ones have holes worn right through them in the soles, which are detaching from the rest of them slowly, the metal spines fell out long ago via the holes... My new boots are 14 eyelet NPS, they're great, though breaking them in is a little rough on it, along with that they're the most expensive boots I've ever had, £105! the last ones were around £30 and so were most of my previous ones, though I did once make a pair of £10 boots last two years, by stapling the soles back on with a high power staple gun eventually. The suit's a good thing too! we were in TK Maxx, a cheapish store full of loads of stuff, I've gotten some interesting shoes from their random buckets before, so they were first port of call while returning jeans I'd been given that wouldn't fit me... I came off with a two piece suit instead, despite owning many vintage jackets and a couple of pairs of trousers I've never owned a suit, or a new suit jacket for that matter, which is cool... Last one, on sale perfect fit on me, well the jacket's only a 38" chest so it makes it a tight fit but not uncomfortable since it has a little play in it. The boots are good and very solid but I'm having to get used to the big soles on them since most of mine have been smaller than that, they look taller than they are on the outside though so it's not too bad. I'm proud of myself for making a decision on things in a day, it's not likely me to buy clothes unless they're impractical or over the top, well the boots may be a little... Also I've decided to quit smoking, went to doctors office on friday having set that date and the fool told me to go on through the weekend and wait until monday, saying that can be my date... I wasn't amused, however I have one left and it shall be my last... Along with this I've got a few job interviews lined up, it's hard getting a chance at jobs in these times but it's a start... My quitting smoking is directly related to 'ibles - I want money to fund projects, and I want money to socialize etc. Next week I shall have a project that's been long awaited by many if I get the metal working done in tech... Speaking of tech all is well there too, course is brilliant and I've been doing loads of interesting stuff. It's seems a bit odd to be posting all this stuff but many an 'ibler has given me abuse about smoking, though it was far beyond their rights to criticize me personally or make irrelevant comments I do think it's about time I quit, 5 years wasting money. Anybody else any life changes?Notable lack of lovelife rubbish, it's too topsy turvy to get in to without a ten thousand word essay...
