Vaulted Dome Aquaponics Greenhouse Design

What do you think about this greenhouse design? It is for an aquaponics system. 192 sq ft so no permit is required in many areas. 9ft tall by 16ft wide, vaulted dome with center support for strong snow holding ability (snow should mostly slide off the vaulted dome anyway). Do you think people would want this in their yard if I offered to sell it to them?

Can you help me brainstorm a better way to make a vaulting barrel?

Hi, Thanks for your interest.I want to find someone to make a vaulting barrel. What is a vaulting barrel you may ask? It is a "fake horse" used in the sport of equestrian vaulting , which is gymnastics, essentially, on horseback. There are lots of instructions around involving the welding 55 gallon drums, etc. The problem is these barrels are very heavy and unwieldly. I am not persuaded this this is the best design. I am wondering, for example, could they be made from PVC or something else? Is there a better way to attach the padding? Can the handles be removable easily. The legs, adjustable. I would love to figure out a better approach. Here are the specsspecs (PDF) from the American Vaulting Association and here are some picturespictures.I would appreciate any advice. Parkour

So, beginning of the third day of learning Parkour. However, years of "Hardcore Tag" seem like the same things, just higher landings, instead of more effectively rolling. Anyways, Can someone point me in the right direction for parkour? I think I know how to roll, however Im not sure. Tips on vaulting and speed vaulting? How about after I vault, I have a 6-10 ft drop. Do I roll? How do you roll from high up? Do you do a landing, then crouch to roll? How can you become to have a smooth roll? Tips on catleaps? Where is the best place to practice or try out parkour?-RoAr

Yup, another find me question: one "8GB USB Micro Vault CLICK Turbo" review. I'm not necessarily asking you to write a review, but if you happen to this particular flash drive, it would be very welcome. Once again, i've looked around for quite awhile, can't really find a review anywhere. Is this because it's really old, really bad, or just uncommon? I'm thinking about buying one, any tips would be good. Also, any other Flash drive suggestions around AU$100 with 8GB, a decent read/write speed, and orange would be appreciated. Does anyone go to a parkour or freerunnning club? I find it really helps you keep fit and get better. Within an hour I was able to do a kong vault much better. Well, anyone out there go to one?

Unknown fear in parkour?? Answered

     Okay, my sicheeaytion is this:          I'm practicing for parkour, and I practice my vaults and rolls by jumping off of my porch. The rail is very easy to go over, and it really isn't that high. About 6 feet. I was leaping off of it like crazy, not getting hurt. But within, oh, 17 hours or so, I was always stopping mid jump, just as I was going over the rail. I always put my foot down, stopping myself.  I've tried all of the tips, like motivation, visualization, and believing. I don't even think of the bad outcomes that are possible. But every time, I stop.     What is happening??????

universal pivot for a pole?

Does anyone know where to buy this universal pivot/swivel, or  know anyone that can fabricate it, or provide the steps and tell me where to  access the materials for me to make this product?  It must be able to fit within the diameter of a pole vault pole.                                              See picture of  model below.

Physical Space Installation Game

Looking for people who are interested in helping out on the electrical engineering side and/or set design of a installation game. Various people in the industry (theme parks and video games) should stop by during the exhibition and credit will be provided. On the electrical side it would be helping out with networking of Arduino boards to run each "gag" and be linked into a show control. On the set design side - help with the set design of the piece, lighting, and construction. The installation will take 3 players and have them "break into" a vault with various high tech security (lasers, pressure sensors, computers needing to be hacked, etc). Other examples of this type of work would be "The Tomb" and "Operation Spy" by 5wits, La Fuga by Negone (in Spain), interactive haunted houses, and theme park attractions. Rooftop balcony on logcabin

This time no extensive Instructable project but a photo impression of my latest work. This is a rooftop balcony/belvedere at our log cabin, in the back of our garden, in Eben Emael. The view at the hill side of the valley is nice from a higher point of view. The photo's show how it is done. There are stairs to the gutter and from there to the balcony. The surface of this is 2 by 2 meter. The level above the ground is 2.8 m. All the wood are impregnated shelfs for stairs, floor and rail. It is fun to sit near the treetops and have in the same time a 180 degree panorama of the surrounding with a vault of heaven above you.

Simple, yet annoying mistake made by game developers

I have found a simple yet annoying mistake that game developers seem to love to make. Before I go on, lets get this straight: Parkour is a method of movement focused on moving around obstacles with speed and efficiency. Originally developed in France, the main purpose of the discipline is to teach participants how to move through their environment by vaulting, rolling, running, climbing and jumping Free running or freerunning is a form of urban acrobatics in which participants, known as free runners, use the city and rural landscape to perform movements through its structures. It incorporates efficient movements from parkour, and adds aesthetic vaults and other acrobatics, such as tricking and street stunts, creating an athletic and aesthetically pleasing way of moving Okay, so the main difference is that free running is pretty much parkour, except it involves flipping, tricking, and is just all around more free; hence FREE running.  But here's the thing I made this forum topic about. In the  Assassin's Creed series, you climb up buildings, jump from one to another, and that's pretty much it. Scaling, jumping, rolling, and that's all there is to it. Yet they call it free running. You don't flip or trick or anything, therefore isn't it parkour and not free running? Another game where this mistake is made is in Tony Hawk's American Wasteland--but there's one difference. In THAW, you do front flips, back flips, wall flips, you climb buildings, scale buildings, etc. So it should be called free running, right? Well tell that to the guys over at  Neversoft, because they call it parkour. Why? What is it about these developers that make them blindly call something one thing, when it's actually another? Do they even think of looking at sources? Have YOU seen this mistake in OTHER video games? Tell me your opinions on this!

Need Advise on Building Large Arch Gate

I am trying to make a large arch-like gate out of foam. It would be about 8' high, it would have to stand on its own, it would have to be able to be broken apart into pieces and needs to be able to last in the elements. I was thinking of buying wet foam blocks (foam used by florists) and binding sets of them together and using spray foam to cover the outsides and paint it grey to make it look like rocks. It would be held together with dowels through each set of foam and have an anchor at the bottom using dowels hammered into the ground.  Inspiration for this design came from the vault from the Borderlands game series  http://i.imgur.com/DwMSsWb.jpg I wanted to know if anyone has seen guides for making a fake stone arch or if anyone had ideas for making this (Especially if the ideas aren't too expensive) Thanks

please help me with my old uk phonebox modification

I have a old 1989 payphone bought at auction minus the keys I want to convert the old rotary tone dial to a pulse dial keypad and replace the coin slot to accept new coins and would like to do this without ruining the looks of the phone by having to drill out the locks and trying to find a lock of nearly the same style as they have been superseded by new better locks I purchased the coin slot and keypad from a bt approved company in the midlands but understandably both they and bt will not tell me how I can remove the coins once they are in the box incase I break into new boxes coin vaults even though the locks have changed and phone boxes these days are hardly used except for emergency calls.I am trying to put this phone into an oldie worldie village pub as a gimmick to draw in tourists to a dying pub/restaurant

Stop back flow bringing smoke to the rest of the house through the AC ducts? Answered

One room in the house we smoke, but when a window is opened all the smoke is sucked through the ac ducts to the main intake which is in a hallway right outside all the bedrooms. I believe this is because the room is generally ~10 degrees warmer than the main part of the house which the hallway is off of because it is a large, open area which is less insulated because of a vaulted ceiling and many large windows. I am looking for a way to seal the room off from the rest of the house without disabling the functionality of the AC/Heater. I've found this HVAC Damper which I think could work, but it's a bit pricey, and it's supposed to be hooked up to a controller unit, so I don't know if there's a way to hook it up to either the fan or thermostat so it just opens when the AC/Heater/Fan is on, and the closes after. I had also been thinking about building a box with a large, one-way valve, but the only design I can think of is a bit beyond my fabrication abilities. Any help, hints, or suggestions would be appreciated, thanks.

How would someone create a closet-sized, archival space (temperature controlled etc) in their house for less than $100?

The Detroit Sound Conservancy (@detroitsound and https://www.facebook.com/detroitsoundconservancy) is dedicated to preserving Detroit sounds and telling Detroit stories. To that end we are interested in enhancing and expanding Detroit's archival infrastructure when it comes to sound-related media. While we pursue the creation of our own archival space, we want to encourage our fellow Detroit music lovers in Detroit and around the world to take care of their own archives as well as raise-awareness about the need for archival practices when it comes to music history. So... what recommendations can we make to our allies and friends who might have personal archives and / or materials worth archiving? We are imagining ephemera (flyers, posters), various printed media (articles, newspapers, magazines), sound recordings (vinyl, cassette, eight track, reel-to-reel), musical instruments, and digital files, amongst many other things. What do the Instructables recommend? For $100 we may not be able to create a museum-worthy vault in our home. But surely for $100 we can create a space that would hold up to many everyday threats to our musical treasures. What say you? Thanks @detroitsound

can someone help me implement the Australia Post DRC postage calculator into my website?

Hello, i am starting up an online store , on behalf of yowee.tk , where i or rather "we", will sell things to raise money for the community vault! so far ive had no issues with building my the store into my website, however, now that i am up to writting up the listings, i need a template to copy off which each listing for each item will reside. each items page must show the price of the product, and the shipping cost . now heres where the problem starts i have no idea on how to implement the postage calculator from australia post, into the template, so that all items pages display the shipping cost depending on thebuyers location, so that anyone anywhere can buy from the site, and not just people within australia, and areas i need to pre-research the shipping price for, which will become inconvenient as the site grows. there are instructions for doing this on this link http://drc.edeliver.com.au however, i dont know how to put this into my website, or how it works, as it requires a substantial amount of coding. what i need to know, is how to , using the provided code ,set the variable which is being set as the value of a text box within a form, to the shipping price of that area, when i click a button, also in that form, but not have it leave the page. although, i dont want some variables to be accessable by the person browsing the page, such as the weight, which i want to be able to alter within the source code of my hmtl file. all i want the buyer to be able to do is select their location, press a button, and have the shipping rates to that place appear in the text box. the shipping calculator is the only thing missing from my website. whoever can solve my problem will get a best answer from me!

Pommel horse revisited: How do I construct a pommel horse?

Assuming I have the the means to obtain the required materials Pommel horse revisited: Assuming that hardware can be obtained, i.e, the core,  be circular tubing, solid steel or wood core, hallow construction( example, think of a construction a post using 4 2' x 4', ergo a hallow post),  pommel handles, the polyethylene foam, the vinyl or leather covering, the leg supports, be they wood, square or circular tubing, and the necessary tools ( wood/welding) how is a pommel horse made to closely match a regulation pommel horse http://visual.merriam-webster.com/sports-games/gymnastics/gymnastics/pommel-horse.php(not a trainer)? Answers should include the following:  Feel free to add to this list as I am sure it isn't complete in your answer. Construction materials and hardware used to construct the pommel horse, aside from the aforementioned basics. i.e, use of a solid core like 4 8'x8' posts, a circular tube, or variations to achieve the desired dimensions/ If the design includes the bread loaf taper, how was this achieved? How the pommels were attached and the hardware used.    If the pommels are fabricated how was this done, but lets assume they will be purchased. Variations of supporting base structure is acceptable. Ultimate Frisbee Lite.

Ultimate Frisbee rules run to twenty pages, so I came up with this for my classes. I thought I'd share it, but I couldn't see the point in posting an Instructable when my school's rules require written permission from every parent involved before pictures of kids go online, so I just took advantage of Rachel fixing the topic-posting bug. Indoor Ultimate Frisbee Lite (“Indoor Lite”) 1. The play's the thing: all players and observers must keep to The Spirit Of The Game. Teams shoukd self-referee. If any dispute requires a decision by a bystander or observer, that decision is binding. 2. The game may be played with and disc agreed upon by both team captains. 3. Teams of up to 8, with a maximum of 5 players on the field. 4. The game continues for either an agreed length of time, or to an agreed score (for example, “first to five”). 5. Before play, team captains agree the end zones and playing field, and choose ends to defend. An indoor game has no “out of bounds”, and play continues as normal if the disc bounces off walls, ceiling or fixtures in the room. 6. When the opposing team gains possession of the disc, it is called a turnover. 7. Ultimate is non-contact sport – intentional obstruction of, or contact with another player will result in a turnover. If a turnover is the result of a rule-break, the disc is handed to the nearest opposing player. 8. At the start of play, each team gathers in their end zone. One captain throws the disc towards the opposing team. Nobody may enter the playing field until the disc passes the half-way mark. 9. A point is scored when the disc is caught in (or above) the opposing team's end zone. 10. After a point is scored, all players return to their own end-zone, and the player who caught the disc to score the point throws the disc to re-start the game. 11. A player in possession of the disc may not move, but may pivot on one foot. “Travelling” results in a turnover. 12. If two players catch the disc simultaneously, a single round of rock, paper, scissors determines possession. 15. Unlimited substitutions may be made after any point is scored. House Rules. Because Indoor Lite can be played in a wide range of venues, typically school gyms or halls, some “house rules” may be developed, such as “if the disc goes through the basket ball hoop, that's a point as well” or “if the disc falls behind the vaulting horse, possession turns over and everybody goes back to their ends to start play again”. It came as a joyous daybreak to end the long night of captivity. But 100 years later, we must face the tragic fact that the Negro is still not free. One hundred years later, the life of the Negro is still sadly crippled by the manacles of segregation and the chains of discrimination. One hundred years later, the Negro lives on a lonely island of poverty in the midst of a vast ocean of material prosperity. One hundred years later, the Negro is still languishing in the corners of American society and finds himself an exile in his own land.And so we've come here today to dramatize an appalling condition. In a sense we've come to our nation's capital to cash a cheque. When the architects of our republic wrote the magnificent words of the Constitution and the Declaration of Independence, they were signing a promissory note to which every American was to fall heir. They have come to realise that their freedom is inextricably bound to our freedom. We cannot walk alone. And as we walk, we must make the pledge that we shall march ahead. We cannot turn back. There are those who are asking the devotees of civil rights: "When will you be satisfied?" We can never be satisfied as long as the Negro is the victim of the unspeakable horrors of police brutality. We can never be satisfied as long as our bodies, heavy with the fatigue of travel, cannot gain lodging in the motels of the highways and the hotels of the cities. We cannot be satisfied as long as the Negro's basic mobility is from a smaller ghetto to a larger one. We can never be satisfied as long as our children are stripped of their selfhood and robbed of their dignity by signs stating "For Whites Only". We cannot be satisfied and we will not be satisfied as long as a Negro in Mississippi cannot vote and a Negro in New York believes he has nothing for which to vote. No, no, we are not satisfied, and we will not be satisfied until justice rolls down like waters and righteousness like a mighty stream.I am not unmindful that some of you have come here out of great trials and tribulations. Some of you have come fresh from narrow jail cells. Some of you have come from areas where your quest for freedom left you battered by the storms of persecution and staggered by the winds of police brutality. You have been the veterans of creative suffering. Continue to work with the faith that unearned suffering is redemptive.Go back to Mississippi, go back to Alabama, go back to Georgia, go back to Louisiana, go back to the slums and ghettos of our northern cities, knowing that somehow this situation can and will be changed.Let us not wallow in the valley of despair. I say to you today, my friends, that in spite of the difficulties and frustrations of the moment, I still have a dream. It is a dream deeply rooted in the American dream. I have a dream that one day this nation will rise up and live out the true meaning of its creed - we hold these truths to be self-evident: that all men are created equal.I have a dream that one day on the red hills of Georgia the sons of former slaves and the sons of former slave-owners will be able to sit down together at a table of brotherhood.I have a dream that one day even the state of Mississippi, a desert state, sweltering with the heat of injustice and oppression, will be transformed into an oasis of freedom and justice.I have a dream that my four little children will one day live in a nation where they will not be judged by the colour of their skin but by the content of their character.I have a dream today!I have a dream that one day, down in Alabama, with its vicious racists, with its governor having his lips dripping with the words of interposition and nullification; one day right there in Alabama little black boys and little black girls will be able to join hands with little white boys and white girls as sisters and brothers.I have a dream today!I have a dream that one day every valley shall be exalted, every hill and mountain shall be made low, the rough places will be made plain, and the crooked places will be made straight, and the glory of the Lord shall be revealed, and all flesh shall see it together.This is our hope. This is the faith that I will go back to the South with. With this faith we will be able to hew out of the mountain of despair a stone of hope.With this faith we will be able to transform the jangling discords of our nation into a beautiful symphony of brotherhood. With this faith we will be able to work together, to pray together, to struggle together, to go to jail together, to stand up for freedom together, knowing that we will be free one day.This will be the day, this will be the day when all of God's children will be able to sing with a new meaning: "My country, 'tis of thee, sweet land of liberty, of thee I sing. Land where my fathers died, land of the pilgrim's pride, from every mountainside, let freedom ring." And if America is to be a great nation, this must become true.And so let freedom ring from the prodigious hilltops of New Hampshire.Let freedom ring from the mighty mountains of New York.Let freedom ring from the heightening Alleghenies of Pennsylvania!Let freedom ring from the snow-capped Rockies of Colorado.Let freedom ring from the curvaceous peaks of California.But not only that.Let freedom ring from Stone Mountain of Georgia.Let freedom ring from Lookout Mountain of Tennessee.Let freedom ring from every hill and every molehill of Mississippi, from every mountainside, let freedom ring!And when this happens, when we allow freedom to ring, when we let it ring from every village and every hamlet, from every state and every city, we will be able to speed up that day when all of God's children, black men and white men, Jews and Gentiles, Protestants and Catholics, will be able to join hands and sing in the words of the old Negro spiritual: "Free at last! Free at last! thank God Almighty, we are free at last!"
