I found this in the black sea, and I have no idea what it is. It feels kind of like a bone, is a bit thicker than 3 peices of paper towards the wide end, and has a hollow tunnel going through from the small end and opens out in the wide end (see diagram). If anyone has any ideas, please tell me.

Anyone recognize what these are and they're used for? The larger one has Bay19 SL2 on it. The smaller SL1. Both have a slit in the top. I thought they might be some kind of glue dispensing cap or... Something along those lines. So, what exactly are they... Do you know? TIA, - chase -

Does anybody know what the object in this photo is? The thing was in a box of stuff I got at an auction and neither myself or several friends know what it is for. It is 6" long and made of metal (I think it is brass) and is kind of heavy in my hand. The tip on the smaller end of it unscrews at the narrowest point and reveals a hollow shaft. Thx for your input!

I received this curious object from my science teacher today because he is cleaning his room. He does not know what it is, all that he knows is that it is related to Lego Mindstorms(I am assuming very old Lego Mindstorms the floppy disk he gave me that comes with it is dated 1988) and a mac 2.0. There is a power source, a ribbon cable, old lego cable, and what appears to be the remains of a button attached to it. It also came with a floppy disk i don't know if the labels mean anything so i am including it. right underneath the switch there is a label that says TSI interface on/off. the floppy disk says " "Feelies" sensor interface for the apple p.o. box 5362 bla bla bla bla more stuff about the address then front: 2e version back: 2+ version". there is also what i think is a brand on the box that i think says "T.51n" but i'm not sure. if anyone knows what this is and what it does please do tell. thanks, Harry

We spent a week at a beach house. In the photo, you see a device attached to a door. There were several of them attached to doors throughout the house. It's a hollow steel ball attached to an arm, which was attached to the door. It could move back and forth like a pendulum, but it rubs against the door and doesn't move freely. You can see the rub marks on the door. So it didn't swing by simply opening or closing the door. This photo was taken in 2003 and I still don't know what it is or what purpose it served. If you know what it is, please leave a comment.

I have recently acquired a Sony Mavica MVC-FD95, and i noticed a little port or something on the lower right-hand corner, and it was intriguing to me, because it might be a media drive; a Godsend seeing as this camera only takes 3 1/2" floppies, as far as I know. If you know what is please post. :)

I recently got this "motor" in a box full of old telephone supplies. It didnt come with any instructions or anything on how to use it, which some of the stuff had. It looks like a giant motor. Any ideas? It says Teletype Corp on it, but I couldnt find any details on it anywhere on the internet.

I found this in a box of misc. wires yesterday at a thrift store looks like a toy for a computer game maybe. It has a speaker up top and an adjustable microphone at the bottom. I know that speaker and microphone are self explanatory, but I was curious to know what exactly it may have been used with. It has a place in the middle to put in three AA batteries and it has a removable clip to attach it to something. When I put in the batteries it appeared to work or the little red light indicator came on and the speaker was on with a real low fuzz sound. I have not plugged it into anything yet , I wanted some input first.Thank you in advance to anyone with help.

Hi everyone! Someone gave me a small electric project and one of the part is now broken:( Its part of a heart beat monitor... there was 2 tubes like like plug into the machine. How the machine worked ; When you were touching the 2 tubes with your hands, its automatically started to pulse light (in the 2 tubes) It then synchronise with your heart beat. Now, I cant figue out How a kind of neon like this could DETECT AND GLOW at the same time?!?!?! The two output connector ARE SHORTED TOGETHER! And the big question is: WHAT IS THIS part!! i would like to replace it. It doesnt look like a neon, not even a lamp! so...??? I think its a kind of laser diode inside. You dont see very well on the picture, but inside the white ring on the top of what i think maybe is a laser diode, is empty, theres a hole the rest of the white glass tube is empty. Its the top part of the tube (dont see in the picture) is broken.

Sorry, I didn't know whether to post in bugs or feedback, so I went with bugs. So I have two computers, and one of them is a netbook. The netbook has a problem where sometimes the internet will just sit there and load for hours, but then when you refresh the page, it goes real fast. So today I posted a super long answer to a question, and clicked on post, and it didn't post. This is a problem with the compute, not with instructables. So I was all like "NOOOO!!!!" because my 3 paragraph answer just got deleted, and I went all crazy clicking back and forth from the top "Answer this" button to the bottom "Answer this" button. After awhile I gave up. Then I saw this thing at the bottom of one of the comment boxes that said "hey, this is my error!". Picture below. So, what is this?
