Winners, winners, winners.....

Often there's instructables on the front page with "Winner!" badges on them, is there no way to see what competition they entered ? I'd like to be able to see the other entries. I can't see a link to the competition on most of them .

And the winner is...

It's that time of year again - the Annals of Improbable Research has announced the 2010 IgNobel Prizes. It makes you proud to be British.... The full list of winners: Engineering Prize: Karina Acevedo-Whitehouse (UK) and colleagues for perfecting a method to collect whale snot, using a remote-control helicopter. Medicine Prize: Simon Rietveld (Netherlands) and colleagues for discovering that symptoms of asthma can be treated with a roller-coaster ride. Transportation Planning Prize: Toshiyuki Nakagaki (Japan) and colleagues for using slime mould to determine the optimal routes for railroad tracks. Physics Prize: Lianne Parkin (New Zealand) and colleagues for demonstrating that, on icy footpaths in wintertime, people slip and fall less often if they wear socks on the outside of their shoes. Peace Prize: Richard Stephens (UK) and colleagues for confirming the widely held belief that swearing relieves pain. Public health Prize: Manuel Barbeito (US) and colleagues for determining by experiment that microbes cling to bearded scientists. Economics Prize: Awarded to the executives and directors of Goldman Sachs, AIG, Lehman Brothers, Bear Stearns, Merrill Lynch, and Magnetar for creating and promoting new ways to invest money — ways that maximize financial gain and minimize financial risk for the world economy, or for a portion thereof. Chemistry Prize: Eric Adams (US) and colleagues for disproving the old belief that oil and water don't mix. The research, supported by BP, was published under the title: "Review of Deep Oil Spill Modeling Activity Supported by the Deep Spill JIP and Offshore Operator's Committee". Management Prize: Alessandro Pluchino (Italy) and colleagues for demonstrating mathematically that organisations would become more efficient if they promoted people at random. Biology Prize: Libiao Zhang (China) and colleagues for scientifically documenting fellatio in fruit bats.

And the winners are...

It's over - the International Go Pro Challenge has been judged, and all entries have received something. (Will those entrants who received codes please redeem them quickly, so that I don't accidentally give them to somebody else?) If you have an idea for another, similar challenge, please comment or PM me.

And the winner is ...

Next month is Movember! I'm going to be taking part, why don't you? If you don't want to (or can't), you can donate via my Mospace.   In the meantime, I'll be needing an appropriately-modified avatar.  I've added (some) past modifications to this topic as inspiration.  I'd like you to start with my "usual" image, but let your creativity have total freedom! There's a three-month One Year pro account in it for my favourite, which you can choose to donate to somebody else if you have lots saved up yourself. The deadline is October 31st, UK time. EDIT: The Winner is... It was a hard choice, so I didn't make it. I showed the entries to Kitewife instead, and she chose Canucksgirl's cowboy-style moustache. Congratulations, CG, thankyou everybody else. The pro-code is coming by PM.

Winner, winner, chicken dinner!

I won!!! I'd like to thank the Academy... Wait... Oh, wrong award... I'd like to thank everyone who read my instructable, who learned something from it, who voted for me, and of course the sage wisdom of the selection committee. I didn't post the instructable to win anything; that's a bonus. I posted my instructable, The Perfect Hike -- Follow the Way of the Backpacker at  https://www.instructables.com/id/The-Perfect-Hike-Follow-the-Way-of-the-Backpacker/, to share my experience and the shared experience of others in an effort to make backpacking a safer, more enjoyable sport. If you like what you saw, keep an eye out for more. I'll be back... chokapi -- a different kind of rebel

Contest winner medals

I miss the old contest winner banners at the top of the IBLES.  I realize that there is now a medal at the top right corner of the IBLE next to where the featured medal is.  My question is would it be possible to get the contest winner medal to link to the contest that they won?

It is boring no more!We were so excited about the number of responses that we decided to give away two books, not one. One winner was chosen by randomly selecting a winner from all of the robots and one was selected by randomly selecting one of the senders. We spun Eric around and he shot at the robots and envelopes with a Nerf gun. Here are the lucky targets:Robot winner: libraryCatEnvelope winner: domestic_engineer

Notification of winner not received

I was one of the winners of the Coffee Challenge (YEAH ME!!!) I have never received "official" notification (I think I read I would need to sign something) I just saw my Instructable (Good Morning Coffee Soap) on the Winner List. I didn't think much about not getting the prizes until my DH asked tonight. What do I need to do, or whom do I need to contact? Now that I'm thinking about it I've never gotten the Sugru from entering a before and after beard picture on the December beard challenge. :-(

And the winner of the improvisation contest is...

I was just going for a walk, and what do I see? One of those heaters, as shown in the picture.  I immediately saw (pun and hint not intended) the switches, and was anxious to get them home. Unfortunately, I wasn't able to remove the connectors by hand, and didn't have and pliers or wire cutters.  I was 25 meters - less than 5 minutes away from home, and way too lazy to go back and bring some tools. What do I do? Look at the net/grill/cover/protector thing and immediately think that it's sharp and cut through the wires easily, DUH!  Not sure where I got the idea, but I thought that the side, where all of the smaller rods are welded onto the main one, would be pretty sharp. On a second thought, it might not have actually sawed through, but might have ripped through the wires, strand by strand, since it was soft copper. Just thought I'd b̶r̶a̶g̶ share :)

Epic Costumes Winners

Thanks to everyone who entered in the Halloween Epic Costumes Contest! The Epic Costumes category has a legacy of some of the most complex and involved projects on our site. The results are always mind-blowing, and this year was no exception. Like previous years, we had no shortage of amazing, EPIC entries. I am very pleased to report that there was more than several heated debates around the lab when selecting finalists, and it was just short of total bedlam while choosing the winners. First Prize Costume Armor with Wonderflex by volpin The Wonderflex Armor won because it had the best blend of process, presentation, and execution. The project gives you a behind the scenes look at how this professional grade costume was made, almost daring you to try and recreate the painstaking details based on the comprehensive instructions. This custom made costume really defined what we were looking for in an Epic Costume entry, and your votes reflected that. Also, the composition of the photographs really sold the hard work that went into this epic costume. Second Prize   Cthulhu by alexthemoviegeek Life-sized Space Marine Armor by thorssoli Bowser's Castle Costume by Mr. Noack These costumes represented everything we hope for in an epic costume; over-the- top DIY awesomesauce! These costumes used several very clever techniques in construction, and the finished projects really show us the artistry and craftsmanship that the authors put into their work. Third Prize Mr.Freeze Costume by rmorrow4 Alien Xenomorph by Mostlymade Bowser Costume by CassiniCloset Orchard Spider by BrooklynAliens Narnia Minotaur by ellwoodjoe The time and dedication put into these creations is evident, and each have their own complexities and challenges that were masterfully overcome. It’s hard to deny that each of these costumes are indeed “epic” and would win the nod of approval from costumes aficionado’s the world over. Congratulations to all the finalists and a big thank you to everyone that entered, you should feel proud of your amazing, EPIC creation. Remember, costumes aren’t just for Halloween, we have an entire channel dedicated to costumes, so you can dress up and have fun all year. If you didn’t win this time around I hope there was something that has inspired you to make another epic costume, next year’s Epic Costumes is open from right now until this time next year! E-Certificates for Contest Winners

I'm in currently in the second year of my Bachelor's in Electronics Engineering course & I have been a winner in a few contests in Instructables. I was recently updating my LinkedIn profile when I thought of an idea wherein Instructables contest winners would get E-certificates that they can include in the profiles. I'm sure companies which are hiring would show some interest in online contests held or supported by sponsors (such as Intel, Microsoft, SeeedStudio,Dremel, Formlabs, LittleBits, HP, Epilog, etc) on Instructables. I'm also sure a lot of people would like to showcase their achievement's on platforms like Linkedin, etc. If you agree or disagree(constructive criticism) leave your comment below and also leave your feedback/additions. Let's see if this actually becomes a feature on Instructables?

Pocket-Sized Winners Announced

Instructables is happy to announce the prizewinners from Pocket-Sized Speed Contest! This has been a doozy of a speed contest with over 150 entries, many of them amazing. You blew us away with all of the cool things you can make that you can also fit in your pocket. A great job all around. There were a couple of interesting twists and turns here. For one, user PocketSized ran away with the votes. Apparently the name is a fitting one.The other thing that you might find a little odd is that the Instructable with the third highest pageviews is the winner. The #1 entry was disqualified since Brita filters aren't so pocket-sized. I tried it out and it wasn't comfortable and my pants got all soggy. It wasn't pretty. Don't worry, we'll still send IAMSatisfied something cool since it was quite good. The #2 pageviews would've been the winner except that it was also chosen as the random winner. Grech contest winners declaration

Hi everyone, I recently won 1st prize in the green tech contest, and about a week after the win I contacted instructables to see if I needed any forms to recieve my prize. They said no. After two weeks and still no prize, I examined the rules and found I needed to sign a winners decleration form. Instructables made an error, and now I can't get ahold of them to give me the form. Can anyone out there help? I don't know how much longer I have before I'm unable to recieve my prize. Thanks so much, Joe J.
