Zelda games are too frustrating

I am currently attempting to play Legend of Zelda Windwaker. I am at the art where I must obtain the second triforce shard. It sucks, because I find myself constantly having to look at online guides, which aren't very helpful. Am I crazy to say that Windwaker is one of the most frustrating games ever?

Classic Video Game Quilts - Zelda and Galaga

Check out the amazing Zelda: The Quilt of Power and Galaga Retro Arcade Quilt from Carolina Patchworks.I've had the Zelda tune running through my head for weeks now. Now up on Etsy. The Legend of Zelda may have introduced an entire generation to the joy of colorful worlds of monsters and heroes filled with melodies of bleeps and bloops, all contained in a little plastic box connected with wires to the TV.Bosses and Triforces, dungeons and new swords, secret doors and endless maps; these inspired fear and joy beyond anything a 256x224 set of pixels wavering on an ancient CRT had any right to do. Return to that world by way of a 64-by-64 grid of pixels emblazoned in all their low-resolution glory across a 100% cotton quilt. Octorok and Leever threaten Link amidst the rocky Overworld's bushes and water, as a Darknut patrols in his Underworld dungeon.- Approximately 64" square.- Made from 100% cotton fabric and batting.- Machine wash cold, tumble dry low.- Pieced and quilted by machine in smoke-free, pet-free, and geek-friendly home.via Evil Mad Scientist.

How can I make a box that when opened plays a short sound?

I'm trying to make a treasure chest that when opened plays the Legend of Zelda treasure sound.  The only idea I have of how to go about this is to use the sort of sound devices found in musical greeting cards.  Is there an easy way to do this?

What should I use as a substitute for milk in my upcoming prop?

I'm planning on making a prop of Lon Lon Milk, from the Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time. The one problem I'm having is what I should use as a substitute for the milk? I want to use something that has the appearance of milk, but won't go bad/spoil. I'm also hoping to find something that is thick, and won't move around as much. My first thought is to use wax of some sort, but I don't know how well that would turn out. Does anybody else have any suggestions?

how do I rig a row LEDs to come on and stay on in response to an outside stimuli?

I want to make a wedding card box that has a row of LEDs in hearts (like the life bar from Zelda that is a row of hearts that light up as you get more life) So as more and more cards are put into the box, the hearts will light up. I picture that after, say, 3 cards are put in, that half of the first heart lights up. Then after 3 more cards are put in, the whole heart lights up. Then after another 3 cards are put in, the 1st half of the next heart will light up. Originally I thought that I could make it pressure sensitive. That after so much pressure was put on the sensor it would make the LEDs light up. But looking through this site, I see you can rig things up to a darkness indicator. So as more cards are put in and the cards block out more and more light to the sensor, more and more LEDs will light up. Or a motion sensor. But a motion sensor, senses motion-lights up the LED-shuts off the LED after the motion has stopped. I need a few of the LEDs to light up in response to the motion of the cards entering the box, then stay on. Then more LEDs light up as more cards fall in. I am not sure what way would be the easiest. I am a noob when it comes to electronic projects. I have bought an Arduino starter kit and some LEDs to pay around with. I have made it through some online tutorials and I am catching on. If anyone has any suggestions or advice, it would be greatly appreciated.

Electr'Ocarina of Time

Hi there! Okay so here i am with this idea i've been tackle with for weeks. Hold tight it's a long presentation. Brief Basically, i would like to make en electronic version of the Ocarina of time from Zelda. I would like to keep it really simple at least for the first step. So it will look like a proper ocarina but instead of holes there will be 6 arcade buttons ( Red, Green and 4 yellow as a reminder of the N64 gamepad buttons). Each button is assigned a note wich will be played while blowing through a microphone. The sound will be a synthesized sinewave that would be played thanks to a speaker. Will be great also if the device could work on a USB chargeable battery. I Have been doing researches on how to make it for a while now, though could'nt find exactly what i was looking for and not sure how to fit different parts together to make a worrkable fork. So i believe i have two options. As you may guess i am fairly new to electronics, programming and electronic music (Lol i read that all the times). To be as clear as possible i am gonna put some schemes of how i picture myself the electronic but i really don't know how it's supposed to be managed, i mean i know there will be some resistors, capacitors or whatever between the "function blocks" i draw but i have absolutely no clue of what should actually really appear. Option 1 - Analog So i made this stylophone few months ago : https://www.instructables.com/id/A-Stylophone/ It is based on a 555 timer (i also saw some mini synths based on this component). It felt to me as a good starting point. Volume would be controlled through the mic instead of a pot and i would get rid of the pitch pot and all the unecessary notes. But i would like it to sound more fluty and so i found this tuto on how to make a sinewave but don't know how to use it in this project (or even if possible) : http://www.learningaboutelectronics.com/Articles/Sine-wave-generator-circuit-with-a-555-timer.php Regarding the microphone part I've also seen this insctrutable but the synth seemed to me way over what i planed to do in terms of sound synthesis ability : https://www.instructables.com/id/Arduino-Flute-Synth/ Option 2 - Digital So comes option 2 wich consist in using an arduino to synthesize the wave that would play if microphone is HIGH and if button 1 is High key 1 would be played etc. The scheme I provided seem definitely wrong to me but that's a first shot anyway. About sound synthesis with arduino i found this library i havent gone through the tutorial yet but it seem a little bit picky. http://sensorium.github.io/Mozzi/ So as you see i am kinda lost and a little clarification would be awesomely nice. I am actually working in a fablab and i would like to develop this project to be used as a workshop. Im pretty sure lots of old grown up kids would love to get a little ocarina. There are some other options i would like to implement (regarding what happend if you press several buttons or none) but well first things first. Hope you like the Idea, hope you can help. Love, Starsheeps and Electro-cupcakes! Adrien

Turning an RPi into a "Sheikah Slate" (LOZ:BotW)

So recently I've been fiddling around with a few things. Plastic recycling, making a bluetooth game controller, and just being blown away by the Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, just to name a few. And after getting a better look at the new key item in the game, the Sheikah Slate, Ive been trying to design one that can do a few of the things the one in the game can do. Im talking about the technical things and not the magical ability things. And just for good measure, throw in portable gaming console for emulated gaming on the go. So far, I have a few components I can piece together, but there are a few other problems that need solving. 1. Can an Amazon Fire 6" Screen be hooked up to a RPi 2 or higher? And if that's possible, is there any additional components needed to pull that off? (im talking about the screen itself, not the whole device) 2. What capacity of LiPo battery would be best suited for a project like this? 3. Would using Adafruit's "Bluetooth EZ Key" module be good to use as a way to control games on the RPi or a PC emulator? Im pretty sure I have more questions, but i'll ask em after these are out of the way.

Recorder module, 7 LEDs, and headphone jack

I'm working on this project: https://www.instructables.com/id/Legend-of-Zelda-Treasure-chest-with-sound/ This is the stuff I'm using: 9V recorder module: http://www.radioshack.com/product/index.jsp?productId=2102855 SPDT switch: http://www.radioshack.com/product/index.jsp?productId=2049718 7-8 white LEDs: http://www.radioshack.com/product/index.jsp?productId=3060980 I'm adding onto this project a little. The goal is to have the LEDs turn on when the sound starts and turn off after 6-6.5 seconds (while the sound is still playing, just before the duh duh duh duh!). I know the 9v battery isn't going to be enough. Somehow I need to introduce more power to light the LEDs to full capacity, but not overload the recorder module after the lights power off. Does anyone know what part(s) I need to make the light off delay work?  I also need to find a way to line up the LEDS evenly along an 8" (width) by 1-1/2" area. I was thinking soldering to two strips of metal for positive and negative (two pieces separated with silicone rubber). Will my strategy for lining up the LED's along the back work? Any suggestions? I would also like to replace the speaker with a female headphone jack so I can easily record the sound without background noise. This article (http://kipkay.com/wp-content/plugins/download-monitor/download.php?id=10) also uses the same audio recorder and suggests it's as simple as wiring the jack to the positive/negative wires stating you can use a microphone or plug it into your computer. Isn't a headphone jack on a computer powered, whereas headphones are not? I would think the recorder module is already supplying its own power for recording. Wouldn't the power from the headphone jack potentially overload the recorder circuit? So is it OK to wire a female headphone jack to the positive/negative wires on the recorder module without a resistor? Any insight you guys could provide would be appreciated! Thanks!

Glow in the dark paint for styrofoam balls

Hello, I made a Zelda-style fairy (as seen in this guide https://www.instructables.com/id/Zelda-Style-Fairy-In-A-Bottle/). I was thinking that I might be able to give the styrofoam ball a little more character when not lit up if I could give it a light coat of paint. If there's a glow in the dark paint I can use for this, even better. I don't want to add so much paint that it will smother the light when it's switched on. I know spray paint will melt styrofoam, so that's out. Would I be able to sort of dry-brush acrylic paint used for miniatures onto it? I have a few pots of Citadel paint on hand, or I can always run to the craft store. Heck would food coloring work? Or is the whole idea more trouble than it's worth? Thanks for any help Dave

Howdy folks. I have a bit of a conundrum. I know exactly what I want but I'm not so sure how to get the pieces together for it... or even what pieces I might need. The plan: Take a chest I have and install a speaker in it, attach it to a button and something recorded with the little ditty when you open a chest in Legend of Zelda. Do do do doooo! I have the chest and the sound. That was the easy part. The rest is getting the hardware I need and installing it. And my promise: if I get going on this, I'll post an instructable with the how-to. I searched and searched and didn't find one on here which kind of surprised me! But anyhoo. Um. Help?

Could Anyone give me some game Ideas? Answered

I have been thinking about designing a game. here are some ideas I've been kicking around: Post-apocalyptic themed RPG: Based loosely on Discovery's new series, The Colony, you would play a character and experience his struggles to survive a cruel and lawless world. Final fantasy styled game. Zelda Platformer: It would incorporate the 'hoppy-jumpy' gameplay of the Mario Bros. Platform games with the dungeon-questing and puzzle-solving of the Legend of Zelda Titles. Mario RTS: Simply combine the gameplay of C&C with the themes of the Mario Brothers. nothing more to say. I am using Game Maker 7 Lite. Thoughts and suggestions are welcome and appreciated!
