The very act can induce a happier state of mind. The physical ramifications are also worth noting, especially since dark circles are the query....Dark circles are caused by drooping in the "fabric" of your face, often because of exhaustion, but also because of mental state.Anyway, smiling with the whole face means to not only plaster a smile on your lips, but also lifting your forehead similarly to wiggling your ears, lifting the outer outer portion of your eyes towards the ears and upper portion of your skull and "widening" your eyes. Sounds weird I suppose, but it's not. Mainly, it's because I can't quite describe the act. It does not use your hands, just your facial/cranial muscles. Imagine a point at the very top back of your skull. Now pull your face towards it.And finally, I'm in agreement with others. Sleep does wonders if this is induced by weariness.
