A neon with an a/c that just doesn't work, Now what can this girl do to fix? Answered

I have a 05' dodge neon with an a/c that just doesn't work. I bought on of those R-134a kits and checked the PSi like the instructions say to and low and behold the gauge is reading 200 PSi. Now what can this girl do to fix the problem...any helpful tips?

ACTUALLY, thinking about it, there is ONE thing I can think of you can check - the fuse for the AC in the fusebox. There's a magnet in the AC that when its on picks up the drive from the engine, when its off, it doesn't. If the fuse for that goes, no AC. It MIGHT blow instantly, or it might just have aged. If it blows again, you need a new clutch for the AC pump, not a whole new pump.

If that's on the low side of the system, even when its running, your A/C compressor is broken, and needs replacing.

Yeah unfortunately that most likely the prob. Hey anyone know when they switched the type of Refrigerant that you can use? might be nice to know that too ! Think they require a diff compressor anyway right?
