A third liquid that will not mix ?
I've made an oil dropper/hourglass, i have used water and (olive)oil because they will not mix. is there a third liquid that i could add without it mixing with the oil or water ?

I would use mercury (but don't ignore the proper safety precautions) distilled water and mineral oil, not vegetable oil.

Three? Why stick at three? Try seven!

Thank you, But the problem is that the falling droplets of water will mix a bit with the alcohol.
The oil and the water will separate in seconds.
I was wondering if there was a third one that would separate that fast and thus will keep those nice layers while droplets of the heaviest liquid keep on falling through.

This may require some experiments
dark corn syrup or honey
dishwashing liquid
water
vegetable oil
rubbing alcohol
do not mix in that order.
