I do not have one but it is easiest to learn programming by doing. That way you can see the mistakes in programming by cause and effect and try out new commands until you get it right. Look up the many arduino LED projects and make a simple one to just flash LEDs. The authors probably have a code snippet or the full program to load on so you can see what they did and modify it. By the way, I hope you actually have an arduino to use as just picking up a programming language is really not the same as a speech language. I do not know if there are any simulators for this. Good luck.

Apart from reading about the cool things Arduino can do, I don't know much about it. However with regards to learning the programming language all I can offer is to find a really cool project you'd like to make involving the Arduino, looking at the code and trying to find out how it works. Or, read as much about the programming a possible (until you get board or really scared of it) and then just practice, you can only learn how to swim by jumping in the water. :)
