Add permalinks: Link to individual posts Answered

It is quite often we need to link to specific responses to a forum thread. These should be permalinks. See for an example of a site that has permalinks:

http://forum.allaboutcircuits.com/

http://electronics.stackexchange.com/  is another example where one can link to individual answers, not just to the entire thread.

This is missing from the Instructables site. Please consider adding that capability.

How often is "quite often"?

I've been using this site over 8 years, I can't think I ever needed to do that.

The reason for this is refer to a specific part of an entire conversation instead of forcing the user to re-read the whole conversation. Then the permalinks could then be used on other sites, linking back to here. I personally use permalinks so often that when they are missing, it makes the forum a lot less useful.

I know the "why", it's the "how often" I was questioning.

If it is something lots of people need to use lots of times, then it's worth the effort of rewriting the forum code. However, if you are the only person asking for it, then it's not going to happen.
