Advice for building a blower Answered

I need build a blower that will shoot potato chips up in the air from underneath a table. I need to create a shower of chips for a video and it needs to burst continuously from a 4-6 inch hole in a table.

I was thinking of using a shop vac and reverse the hose.  But what would the best way to feed the chips in? I would appreciate any advice if you have done something like this.

How long is any given take? How long a duration is "continuous?"

You can take a look at all the commercial "confetti blowers" out there. It is essentially a powerful fan or compressed gas that creates the airflow out of a tube or cone. The confetti is just dropped into the middle of the airstream via a chute. You can probably make the "cannon" part from PVC drainpipe, cap off one end to attach to the blower hose from the vacuum. To make things easy to build, you can insert a T-fitting along the cannon and then extend the pipes from there to form your potato chip feed chute. You might want to be able to pinch or expand or have a relief hole near the vacuum hose insertion point so you can control how powerful the air blast is or else you get potato chip crumbs coming out the end. Good luck.
