Am i able to save my Ipod? Answered

My Ipod got wet a couple months ago, still doesn't work. Is there any hope of saving it? Could i still use the hard drive? It's a 60 gig so i don't want to toss it.

Well, two months was a slight mistake, the longer water is on a circuit board, the more it rusts connections. try craigslist if you want a new one.

Maybe, but after two months, I wouldn't get my hopes too high.
You'll need to open it up, disassemble it as much as you can and make sure everything in it is absolutely dry. Letting warm air blow over the parts for a while is about the best way to get it dry.
Then you'll need to remove all the corrosion with a stiff, dry brush, a toothbrush will work. Clean it up and reassemble it and hope for the best. You may get lucky.
Here is a site that will show you how to identify and take apart most models of the iPod:

Put it in an airtight box with uncooked rice for a week. This should drawn any moisture left in the iPod out. The fact you've tried switching it on may of killed it however try the rice thing anyway!

If all else fails, sell on ebay! You'll get a bit of cash from it and someone will get some parts they need.
