I don't want to offend North Caroliners, or people from Wayne, but I think there was some HORRIBLE town called Wayne, and it was horrible. EVERYTHING looked abandoned a century ago, people BURNT their trash, and people HUNG their clothes to dry. And when these people burnt their trash, it's not like there was little puffs of smoke, I could barely SEE when my dad drove through. I live in New Jersey, and we drove through Delaware, Maryland, Virginia, North Carolina, and we are now in South Carolina until Friday

Well, burning trash isn't something you see much anymore, but to put your other comment in perspective.... Most of the world hangs their clothes to dry. And do you realize how much energy we would save if everyone hung their laundry out to dry? A very huge amount. Just sayin'

I wouldn't say MOST people hang their laundry, but maybe around 50%

Were they actually burning the trash in town? You don't usually see that these days. (And the term is "North Carolinians".)

Was there a long time ago doing training at Fort Bragg, home of the 82nd Airborne. I probably still have some of that red clay and sand stuck in my boots. I guess the correct question would be to ask if anyone hailed from North Kakalacky. I did meet some fine people from L.A. there, Lower Alabama...
