Anyone use or think of a use in projects: used discarded automotive Serpentine Belts?
I've cut some into strips and bonded pieces to appliance edges making "scratch resistant bumpers. My vacuum cleaner does not chip paint from the woodwork anymore! Serpentine belts are strong and have a nice form factor. Pieces of thick rubber for projects are hard to find any ideas?

a thin women's belt?
glue two side by side for a thicker men's belt?
could use the ribbed side as tiny riffles for the bottom of a sluice box
gluing them down to make some sort of anti slip surface?
stacking them 100 thick, drilling them to put a bolt through and using it as a trivet so your hot pots don't burn the counter
riveting them onto shoulder pads to make road warrior / mad max armour
make a serpentine belt "beaded curtain"
a crappy rubber whip

You can buy Velcro tape, I think that the soft-loop side would be good for an anti-scuff surface.
