Arduino: How to connect Wifi Shield to Arduino Robot? Answered

Good morning,

I bought the new Arduino Robot:

and wanted to connect the Wifi Shield to it:

However, the pins 4,7 and 10 which are required are all occupied by the LCD.  Could you please supply me with instructions of how to connect the Wifi Shield to the robot, both hardware and software instructions.

Please help me on this topic, I really need to get this working.

Thank you in advance.
Kind regards

Looking at the robot i'm not seeing any available pins. Sure there are plenty of options for connecting other things to the robot, but they are multiplexed in or require the pins to be shared. Making things fairly complicated for adding something like the Wifi shield. But if you can find 3 available pins then you'll be able to wire the shield in. This will require you to go into the shield library and modify the code to use the 3 pins you have available. Not to mention playing around with the robot code to take advantage of the shield. You may want to look for some help on the Arduino forums.

Thank you very much for your reply.

From the pin mapping table:

I take that three of the TKD pins could be used. But what do I have to do with them? Declare them as inputs? Would this do the same job as what the three pins normally used on other boards would do?

I am really lost and confused about this....

I am looking forward to any further help/suggestions
