If they're standard rechargeable Energizers then they're NiMH batteries.
NiCd batts are just about obsolete nowadays as the NiMH has a higher capacity and doesn't suffer from 'memory effect' if they're not run down to discharged state regularly. The only advantage the NiCd has is in high current applications, but even that spot has been superseded by LiPo batteries.
