Ash Wednesday!
Hey everybody, tomorrow is Ash Wednesday! Time to celebrate!
You know what that means - it's time to make your own copy of the Necronomicon, attach a chainsaw arm and settle down to watch Evil Dead 21 and Army of Darkness. Some of my friends have been doing this for well over a decade, and it's one of the best holidays outside of Halloween!
1(Skip ED1 - it isn't very good.)

Just a question, have you read The Zombie survival guide?
Personally, I own it.
Reply 12 years ago
Did you read World War Z? Much better than its dry companion manual.
Reply 12 years ago
Yes. I own them both, read them both, and dip into them frequently. I enjoy them almost as much as my "Hitchhiker's" series

Reply 12 years ago
why not the binary?????
Reply 12 years ago
Binary is the s**t. I personally love it, but there are mixed opinions.
Reply 12 years ago
easy, easy. I mean no offense. I just can not read it. that's all.

Damn peculiar these Yanks, what?
(Idly plans bonfire to celebrate failed terrorist attack on government)
Reply 12 years ago
Just the ones from up north and east, they be proper Yanks. The rest of us are rather laid back and friendly, until you hit Kall-ee-forr-nee
Reply 12 years ago
Not all the East are Yanks... Georgia and the Carolinas are on the East Coast, and I'm willing to bet my soul they're not Yanks.
Reply 12 years ago
Seconded. Parts of Va. all the way to north Fla. are as un-yank as you get!
Reply 12 years ago
Even parts of Central FL - I've lived in S. FL and that's all just one big metro, and then there's Orlando and Tampa in Cent FL, but when you get really far inland Florida, it's all Dixies.
Reply 12 years ago
The British definition of "Yank": everybody who lives west of Lizard Point.
Reply 12 years ago
I understand. All my Ozzie friends used to call me a yank, until I explained how offensive it was:-) For us, yanks are: A) North of Virginia B) Sympathizers of federal oppression C) Ignorant of and discriminatory towards Southern language and culture Let it be known, we will gladly adopt, with full priviledges, those who are willing to repent of the forementioned offences.
Reply 12 years ago
One thing I've always wondered: are Canadians yanks?
Reply 12 years ago
Canucks, eh?
Reply 12 years ago
Hmmm. Toronto would almost qualify. But, Quebec is more like "Snow Frogs", and the western and mid northern areas are often as redneck/hillbilly/country as I am.
Reply 12 years ago
B) Supporters of The War Of Northern Aggression (AKA The War Against Southern Independence )
:)
- Mason-Dixon Line probably makes a better line of demarcation. heehee
. There don't seem to be many Yankees West of the Mississippi - no matter how far North they are. They are almost all N'or'easters.Reply 12 years ago
B) Don't you mean the Late Unpleasantness? C) West of the Mississippi you've got three groups -- those dirty cowardly sheepherders and evil ranchers, until you hit the Rockies, then you get the tree-hugging granola-eating nut cases like me :-)
Reply 12 years ago
You CAN get here by going East if you go far enough east ;-)
Reply 12 years ago
Everybody to the East of Ness Point is French. Everybody North of Carlisle is Scottish, and everybody South of the Isle of Wight is Foreign.
Reply 12 years ago
Ah, isolationists..... ;-)
Reply 12 years ago
That's true. I have family in Ocala that are definitely not yanks. Most 'true' Floridians aren't really yanks. It's just that so many yanks have retired there in the last 30 years.
Reply 12 years ago

My grandfather grew in two-lane road Ft. Lauderdale; I know what you mean. About 17 years ago he bought a vacation home in the Keys, back when it was way more quiet, but he sold it about 11 years ago.
Reply 12 years ago
The Keys were AWESOME when I was a kid. I mean really Paradise. But these days, meh, not so much.
Reply 12 years ago
MY bad, I meant North by East

Groovy! I'll put down my copy of "A Farewell to Arms" and watch ED2 again...
Reply 12 years ago
LOL
Reply 12 years ago
ELP's version?
Reply 12 years ago
Naw. I lost interest in ELP sometime after the first Works album, I but loved the stuff before... "A Farewell to Arms" is a reference to a "sight gag" in the ED2 movie, which is infused with (slightly sick) humor...
Reply 12 years ago
Oh, pardon me. Affairs of the Heart was from the Black Moon album iirc.
