At What Point do you Report an Instructable Bug? Answered

Just wondering, you see the "Help, My instructable won't show up" posts on here all the time. I posted one about 13 hours ago and it still hasn't gone to the recent page. At what hour marker, without a message from one of the admins. should you report a problem? does it take 15 hours sometimes? 24? 48? I know things go slow sometimes... and I'm assuming this is just a matter of patience, but when would it be suggested that I tell an admin that its not posting?

The best answer so far is "it depends".

It takes time for a project to go up anyway, but sometimes they fall foul of the mysteries of the Nannybot. In that case, you have to wait until somebody manually checks your work is OK to publish, which can take longer during and immediately after the weekend.

Typically, if a project trigger the filters it can take two days to show up (but the publish date stays the same, so don't worry about missing competition deadlines).

It once took a week for one of mine to show up, because its shortness and dearth of images triggered the filters (as possible spam?), and then somebody forgot to check the filters.

What I'm getting to is, if you post an Instructable and it doesn't show up on the recent list, wait 48 hours before you complain, and then PM one of The Management rather than report a bug.

I hope mine doesn't get lost in a flood of yarn slideshows.

its up now, I was pretty confident it would go up eventually. but just for future reference....whats the longest an instructable has taken to go up without any messages from the admins? is 48 hours the standard? or do we wait longer?... maybe the answer will aliviate the "my instructable isn't showing up!" threads

I'd wait 1 week before posting a bug. Only by then, you know there's something drastically wrong.

Wait it out for about 24-48 hrs, there's been a lot of postings recently, and it's likely that yours is just caught up in them. Either that, or something triggered the filters and it needs to be reviewed.

I'd say 24, but it's a weekend, so it might be different?
