Best way to overclock a Pentium 4 531? Answered

Well, to do this, I obviously have to give a few stats of my system. CPU: Intel Pentium 4 531 (Prescott chip) running @ 3 GHz RAM: 2048 MB of DDR (PC3200) Motherboard: Biostar P4M800 My goal: The 531 @ 3.1 / 3.2 GHz

Increase the FSB frequency.

Thanks! I got my system to 3.1 so far with FSB being pushed up 7 notches (200 up to 207) and it's stable and cool. Not to mention a touch faster.
