Black and decker mower LM175 stop working
Hi,
I have a B&D electric lawn mower, LM175. It stopped running when I pull the switch. However, if I hold on to the handle and rock it hard, the motor will run but at a slower speed and won't last. Is this a switch/connection problem, or is it that the motor if bad? thank you!

Several causes. Lower speed usually means the DC Bridge has an blown open diode..
The switch could have welded the contact points when the diode surge happened and the resulting metal switch is now carbonized..
So jiggling the contacts may eventually make a high resistive contact that heats up and brakes the electric contact after a time..

Hi Iceng,
I checked the bridge/rectifier and both DC and AC terminals read 110~120v.
I also checked the switch regarding continuity and it works as it should. what else can go wrong? thank you!

Then the motor may be damaged !
You may have to study series or pm motors.
There are ibles about this but I cannot think of any.
Search with google...
