Broken light box switch Answered

My light box switch stopped working. I would like to rewire it so I bypass the switch and turn it on by just plugging it in. Inside I have 4 wires that have come loose from the switch plate. Can anyone help me fix it so that I can attach the wires inside the box properly/ bypass an on switch, so that I can simply plug and unplug it when I use it?

A pic would be nice.

4 wires and a light switch, 3 scenarios.

Scenario 1

2 way switch, 2 wires to power and 2 wires to light.

Proper fix replace switch.

What you want to do cap off wires to power and connect a cord to the light so you can plug it in, can kill or burn down the house.

But if you must do it, NEED PICKS, my guess, AND IT IS JUST A GUESS, the two wires that come out of the top of the box go to the light, the two wires that come out of the bottom of the box go to power. You should check the wires with a meter.

Scenario 2

3 way switch replace switch or hire an electrician. Should be 5 wires but I have seen 3 working wires and one dumb dumb.

Scenario 3

4 way switch replace switch even if you hire an electrician. Should be 6 wires but I have seen them with only 4 working wires.
