Buying components for the niftymitter?
I have the skills necessary to build it (from a digital electronics course at school) i just lack components...
Whats the best place to get electrical components cheap with a low shipping cost?
I have searched and searched to no avail...

You should be able to get all of the parts needed at Radio Shack. There is only a few resistors, capacitors, one switch, and one transistor. There is also a coil made of wire. The only part that might be an issue is the trim capacitor. The circuit is simple enough that you could breadboard it not using the PCB.

I can only speak from a UK perspective, where the commonest options are Rapid-online, Maplin, Farnell and RS.
I hear Digikey or Mouser mentioned repeatedly by our transatlantic counterparts.
I would suggest trying to make contact with other electronics tinkerers in your country, whichever that might be and get their advice.

Have you tried asking royshearer?
He has posted the projects, after all.

Well, the instructable said he uses rapid, however that is based in the UK so shipping would suck
