CRAFTSMAN Tool contest voting glitches? Answered

Hello. I'm new, and entered the Craftsman tool competition. I sent links to my 'beekeeping' friends/etc asking my friends/co-workers to consider voting for me. Two possible 'problems': 1) Several of my friends said when they went to the site, and clicked the "VOTE" button on my instructable, it didn't force/prompt them for login. It just 'voted' (showing the 'unvote' option)...but they never registered. I am wondering if these votes are hitting the books, for all users. I actually watched this on an PC of a guy who I work with, and he's using Internet Explorer (not Firefox)...so I told him to register his account, just to be sure the vote 'took'. 2) Last night, was on my laptop, and responded to some comments on my I-Ble. The comments posted under the account my GIRLFRIEND set up to vote for me SCHRISTY05. I had just booted the PC up...so did my laptop cache her account, or is it doing some sort of user detection by originating IP, or something? I'm sort of wondering if that's tied to question number one. One other glitch I noticed (just worth mentioning, probably not worth fixing)...is when building your I-ble...using Firefox...occassionally, the image notes from one image, will tranfer to another image (including the boxes, the comments associated with the boxes, etc).

radiorental hit the nail on the head in terms of being logged in through multiple browsing sessions and being able to leave comments without having to log in each time. Regarding voting - you must be logged in to leave a vote. The registration box pops up in both firefox and explorer. Are you sure that your friends who voted on your project didn't already have an account with us and just happened to be logged in?

Your account login is cached in your browser so when you reboot you will be still logged in. That explains how you posted as your girlfriend but the reports of un-logged-in voting is curious. It pretty simple to code a rule that you cant vote unless you're logged in. And given that your instructable has a rating of 3.27 with 3900 views and votes of 101 - I would say that most definitely you are getting your votes collected. (compare to my instructable of rating:4.20, views of 12000 and only 47 votes) all the best /pauric

I also have numerous people telling me that after registering they can not access to vote. I have sent inquiries and posted notification of this problem and have yet to hear anything. Time is running out and I'm afraid my votes aren't being counted. I hope there's a solution here.
