CREO, SolidWorks, Catia, Etc.? Answered

Sort of a broad question here - if it deviates too much from the theme of these forums, my apologies. I was just curious to know, of those of you who use manufacturing design software, which do you prefer and why?

I personally have been using Solidworks for years and I love it! But it does come with quite the hefty price tag. I'm going into Mechanical Engineering and a lot of companies either use it or Solidedge.

Thanks, tomatoskins! I've liked working with Solidworks too but haven't used Solidedge.

Only if made by Autodesk. Anything else would be blasphemy.

Really, I dunno. Did you want to find out what people are using on the DIY front or for professional work?

I was thinking professionally but really I'm just curious from an all-around perspective so I'm interested to hear what people are using on a DIY level too. I haven't used Autodesk yet but I've heard nothing but great things. Definitely excited to check it out. Thanks for your response!
