There's a remediation site near me that is doing something clever to dump the iron oxide from mine run off. I can't remember what though ! They're recovering several tons a year from it,
You can but all you will end up with is dried iron oxide and acid.
You could pass the the liquid through a fine sieve and rinse the solids down to a neutral ph with water. Not really my field of expertise so just a guess.
