Can I use a cell phone to charge any 3.7v li-ion battery? Answered

I want to use a cell phone to charge 3.7v li-ion batterry that are shaped like a AA (same as laptop batteries)

Possible. But the lack of the third contact on the laptop battery might leave you disappointed.

If it works, it would probably take a very long time to charge. A laptop cell has 4 times the capacity of a cell phone battery.

Too difficult, you'd have to extract the battery and build a charging-unit etc...

Probably not the cell phone is probably only 2-3 volts and yo would need 4-4.5 volts to charge the l-ion battery.  It's not safe to charge a l-ion battery anyway unless you use a proper charger.

Go to youtube and search battery fire and see what I mean.
