Can anyone help me find some parts so I can make an industrial barn type light for outside my house? Answered

I'd like to make a lamp like this for outdoors: https://www.beautifulhalo.com/industrial-barn-scon...

The conduit, flange, junction box, and outlet are easy. I can't find anything I can use as a shade, I was thinking maybe there would be something that I could repurpose to make the shade, rather than buying one for $$$

Does anyone know something like a wok, or some sort of dollar store metal salad bowl or anything like that which could be repurposed for a lampshade? I'd prefer aluminum for obvious reasons, but not opposed to steel either as long as I can paint it.

Check your local home depot for these gas outdoor heaters - they ones where you put a bottle on the bottom and have the huge heat lamp on a pole.
The top shade might be a suitable fit.
If so check the local scrap metal dealers as they often have one around that you can grab for free.

It is not obvious to me why you prefer aluminum.

Have you seen those disposable steel helium tanks? E.g. the BalloonTime (tm) brand. I think I have seen those in two sizes: small (0.25 m^3) and large (0.42 m^3). The diameter of those tanks, at the middle, are roughly 24 cm (9.5 inch), and 30 cm (12 inch), respectively, for the small and large sizes. If you cut the top and bottom off of one of these tanks, or just cut it at the seam at the middle where it is welded together, this would give two roughly bowl-shaped pieces.

The place I occasionally find those disposable helium tanks, is in my town's recycling bins, specifically the bins intended for steel cans.

Those kitchen themed items you mentioned: wok, frying pan, large mixing bowl... I assume those would work as well.

If you can find those items at a thrift store, or in a dumpster, or recycling bin, you will get a better price than buying them new.
