Can anyone provide instructions on how to build a portable type EEG machine?
I am conducting research on neurofeedback. I have the equipment to SEND the various Hz frq. via audio headphones. I need an affordable EEG machine that can read for lack of a better description, a persons standing Hz frq., preferable that can be interfaced with a computer for real time analysis.
Thank you
Vic

Hi VIc,
It's been 18 months, now.
Did you every figure out how to make/get an inexpensive EEG?

To make your own I fully agree with steveastrouk. Buying new is extremely expensive and even second-hand is not in the least bit cheap.
There is another possibility but it requires more than a little bit of luck and knowing (or getting to know) the right people. See if your local hospital has recently bought an EEG or is about to buy one. Get a hold of the person who handles acquisition and removal of equipment. Straight up ask this person to give you the old/malfunctioning EEG (saves them potential storage and removal expenses). Just be careful not to end up in some legal grey area ;)

Before doing this, make sure you know what's malfunctioning. You do *NOT* want to be applying electrodes to yourself if the flaw is a dangerous short circuit!
I think Steve's got the right answer, unless you can find a kit from someone like Edmund Scientific (or like ES used to be).

You are of course correct. Before attaching electrical equipment to your head (or any other part of your body for that matter) be sure it won't cause you any harm ;)
