It is possible to do this with some "hardwaring" =] (still it will be much cheaper to do as LasVegas said) I remember a guy who made a PIC read from a cd drive ... but geez... ATAPI on a pic must be HARD...
No. The two devices use entirely different formats and require a computer to transfer between them. Now, you can have a dedicated computer that does nothing more that transfer data to and from the CD, but it's still a computer.

I've seen printers that can burn or copy pictures off a mem card to a hard drive or cd burner. But that still requires a "semi-computer" in between.
