Cellphone GPS without service. Possible? Answered

Is it possible to make a cellphone into a gps without it's service. Because I own 8 cell phones and I want to put one of them into use.

If they have built in GPS yes, or location services, however you'll need a pay and go sim card to put in the phone for either, because most of the functions don't go until there's a sim of the right network in place.

If it has built in GPS then the sim need never be charged up, I'm not sure about location services since it pings cell towers in the area.

If the phone's equipped with a GPS reciever or can have one attached to it then yes.

On the left of the picture, the blue cellphone, Its a Sprint Sanyo Katana 6600. Equipped with "My Location". I'll probably try it.
