Cheesy Friday Answered

What could be better on a cold, rainy Friday than grilled cheese sandwiches? I know, nothing! Sarah and I made some last Friday, taking inspiration from this Instructable. We used aluminum foil instead of freezer paper, and put butter on the outside of the bread so we got lovely browned sandwiches.

I made another today. It's my New Favorite Method!

Now just fix up a steamin' bowl of tomato soup and you're set!

Yeah, I suggested using a foil-covered soldering iron to stir some tomato soup into steaming goodness. What do you think?

Would you ladies care to experiment with curling or straightening iron finger sandwiches? Hairdryer slow-cooker/steamer...

You made them again without me? Jealousness! I could totally go for one now. When it's cold and rainy in San Francisco (now), every day = good grilled cheese day!

I have these fancy silicon pockets that i put in the toaster. Ive just thought though, one could make a foil pocket and put that in a normal toaster!

Did you try to stick one iron in a bench vise facing up, place the sandwich on the iron and then weigh down the sandwich with the other iron on top? George Foreman likes it that way, grilled cheese of champions...

That would probably have halved our cooking time. We just put the iron on top and turned the sandwich about 3 minutes in.
