+1 ork = I have always just used warm water and dried throughly afterwards. ;-)
Well done for keeping alive the penmanship that is so rare now ;-)
(Have you thought about trying to make your own inks?)

Nail polish remover is acetone, which is a fairly aggressive solvent. But whether it's the _right_ solvent for ink -- and whether it might do unpleasant things to non-metal parts -- I can't say.
I've always just cleaned my fountain pens with water, when they needed it.

no, it's just a dip pen. the tip is only metal.
