Corrupted PDF Answered

Hello,

When I try to download pdfs, they all end up at about 63-64KB, and are all corrupted. It has been like this for some time now. Earlier, there was no problem at all...

I just payed for two years of pro membership, to see if that made any difference, but no,--- the files are still corrupted.

I have the same problem with my knex coaster instructable but this time, it just shows a blank page and is 0kb in size.

I had the same problem, but was able to download the 'custom PDF' with no problems. Just give it a few minutes, sometimes it take a moment to generate the custom PDF.

tome, would you email one of the corrupted PDFs to service@instructables.com so we can take a look?  I think the problem may have something to do with the language settings (I believe you are in Scandinavia?) but I have not seen any problems downloading PDFs from the USA.  If I can see what's happening to the PDFs, I'll have a better chance of fixing it.

Noah just emailed me about it.  Do you normally have problems downloading PDFs?  Our current theory is that it's some issue with people outside the US, but that is hard to test from here!

I've never had trouble before, but I rarely download them.

However, as I type, I have randomly chosen a PDF (Candy Cane Chocolate Popcorn Crunch), and though it took longer than I expected, it still worked.

I'm using a wireless broadband connection, "up to" 8Meg.  I think it's running closer to 2Meg, though.

Why not just use proxies from other countries to test? ;)

We had a problem a few weeks ago with another user who was trying to access the site from Italy over a very slow internet connection.  The problem was that their download timed out before the entire file was downloaded.  Are you on a slow connection by any chance?

I am in Norway, not on a slow connection, and the download problem is only on Instructables.

I have sent a copy of one of the files to service@....

I just payed my subscription a few days ago. Nevertheless, I have been able to download working pdfs. I was online on Nov 1, 6 and 11. On Nov 1, most files were OK. Nov 6: Only a couple of files OK. Nov 11: All files corrupted.

Lithium Rain: I have no idea how I would go about using proxies from other countries.

Ps. I am not at the computer every day. Please don't take slow respons as lack of interrest!
