Craftsman Adds Answered

Hey all, This comment is directed specifically at the people who run instructables.com. I really enjoy the site and I spend countless hours browsing through the projects. I recently noticed that the website is starting to have craftsman adds all over it. I understand that sponsorship is great to keep the site up and running, but please dont let the adds bloat the site. Its really irritating to log into the site and have a little animation of a palm sander running around on the screen. Keep the adds if you must, but please dont bloat and commercialize our great little site. Thanks, C.Y.

Please see Eric Wilhelm's announcement on this subject. Apparently Craftsman is dumping a load o' money into I'bles as sponsorship (and you must realize that it takes a lot of money to run this not so little site).

There has been a lot of discussion in that thread about the structure of these ads. We're hoping that they can be toned down, but presumably such negotiation will take some time.

Meanwhile, you may choose to use AdBlock or some similar software (realizing that non-display of ads will reduce I'bles revenue).

With my fingers and a keyboard: first I press "u" with my right index finger, then "s" with my left ring finger, "e" with my left middle f-inger, spacebar with my thumb, ....well, you get the idea :-)
