Crossbow bolts Answered

Crossbow bolts are considerably expensive. I just invested in a crossbow and I'm looking for a cheap way to make practice bolts. Given many tutorials out there that explains how to melt aluminum and how to cast things from aluminum, I was wondering if someone instruct us on how to properly create a crossbow bolt (and arrow)

For cheap practise bolts you can also use aluminum pipes.

We did that for normal bows and to get them straight again after an accident we had a little "hand press" with two rollers for the arrow to slide on.

Get the bulged out bit up and in the centre under the press, slight pressure and done.

cast items can be brittle. or have voids which make weak spots.

ive made bolts by sharpenning a dowel, and making fletching with tape.
