Does anyone know a simple but effective battle bot for a beginner? Answered

Hi, I'm a starter to the "battle bot" world. I've added stuff to rc cars but really I'm kind of a noob at it. So I'm just looking for a simple to make, possibly cheap and effective battle bot to make.

There was just an instructable about taking an rc car and just adding a motor to be a buzz saw and or etc.(requires separate battery I think?)

i have seen the sumo robot contest at singapore robotic games 2012.
they have a good tire. they use timing belt and the pulley as the wheels.

I like what Computothought said, and you could build up from that by looking at examples on youtube. You'd be amazed at what people can build.

Search for Sumo robots in general they are quite simple and often small.

I like the idea! The sumo bot is kind of like lot's of those types of battle bots that have buzz saws attached to a wedge :)

Here's a website that has a lot of information on how to build a battle bot including planning a design etc.
