Go to the underside of the counter and duplicate the marks where it cannot be seen. Then try whatever you like to remove them.

Is it cultured marble (man made) or natural stone marble?
If it is cultured marble, soak the affected area with a strong solution of liquid laundry detergent and water. Rinse well and let it thoroughly dry. If the gloss finish needs repair after cleaning, lightly sand the affected area with 400 grit wet or dry sandpaper, mask it off and spray evenly with several light coats of gloss clear acrylic or polyurethane paint.
If it is natural stone, clean with detergent and then oxalic acid (its an oxygen bleach) available at most wood craft stores and some pharmacies (make sure there are no other additives.) Then wax with a good carnauba wax and buff to a shine.
In both cases make certain the top is completely dry after cleaning and before proceeding with the next step.
