Download the ebook Answered

I am sure I must be doing something silly but I have tried both Firefox and IE and don't see any way to download ebooks anymore.  When I am logged in and click download the ebook it brings me to a general description page on one tab, a table of contents on another tab, a small table below that lets me download various readers but I don't see any actual link that lets me download the book in question.  I have looked in my downloads folder thinking that maybe it happened in the background or something but that also isn't the case.  There is also a View Instructables link that just brings me back to the page that has the Download ebook link.

When you click "download ebook", you get another page with a table of options on it. Use the table to select the kind of ebook you want to download.

Above the table are two buttons, "download PDF" and "download ePub" - click the one you want, and off you go.

That's my problem. Neither of those buttons is showing up. There must be something blocking it in my my IE and Firefox settings. I guess on to Chrome to see if the buttons are blocked there.

I'm using FF 8.0, and I can see then, to the left of the "view instructables" button, and I can see them on Kitewife's iPod Touch.

A typical recommendation is to clear your cache, or to do a "hard refresh" (which apparently involves holding down the shift button when you hit reload?).

It works in everything but IE (of course). When you hold the shift key down, while clicking refresh, your browser ignores anything you have in cache and tries to reload the page from scratch. It's a nice way of clearing, without actually clearing (which is why I have people try it first).

I'm not sure what you're seeing, but do you see the top 1/8th of the gold buttons? I find that for some reason, on some browsers, the buttons don't like to show up. I'm not sure what's causing it though. The buttons are there, they're just mostly invisible.  See the image for clarification.

Also, if this isn't the problem, please take a screenshot so we can see what you see!  Thanks!

OK that's it. I actually can see the very top of the buttons but no text. I can work with that. Thanks!

Would you mind trying something for me. Open Firefox, go to the ePub page where you're having issues, click on the "View" drop down menu, go down to "Zoom" and then click on "Reset"

I'm not sure if this is the problem, but I want to figure out why certain people only see parts of the buttons, and if I zoom out in Firefox they pop under the text dialog.

Thanks!

When I do that in Firefox the Zoom Reset did not change the behavior. It still just shows the top pixels of the buttons.

To test further I zoomed both out and in several ways and the behavior was the same at all zoom levels.
