EMAIL: inaccurate notification Answered

I received an email stating that MY question had another answer...first, I was NOT the author of the question, and secondly I WAS the one giving the "answer".....I have copied it as follows:

Sorry.....the line that reads: First " --- "'s suggestion of varnishing should ACTUALLY read: First " Burf's" suggestion of varnishing

I wanted to let you know I passed this on a few days ago, so it's on the list of things the dev team needs to fix.

I wouldn't. It's nice to have a repository of things that are/were wrong in case they go wrong again in the future. This way we can kind of see what's happened before and not make those mistakes.

I have gotten similar emails several times. It seems to happen when someone answers/replies/comments on your answer/reply/comment on the original question.

Well the problem is, I am signed up to get those emails, BUT #1: I didn't ask the original question (I am not the author) as the email states, and #2: it was ME who posted the remark....*sigh*

I know. it seems that as soon as you get a comment on your answer to someone else's question the site cannot recall who posted the orignal thing

Yep, same here. When someone comments on my comment to another ones question, I get a mail that 'someone answered MY question'.

Minor nuisance, just ignored it (not the comment, just the wrong wording in the mail) - but nice to know that I'm not the only one.

At one time, I'd get a list of all the "replies", and they weren't categorized, all the ones on all the places I'd posted AND forum threads I'd started AND ibles I'd posted....were all lumped together....I didn't mind this. But I'd never gotten just one that said I'd had my "question" answered, when I hadn't asked a question in the first place, only to find out it was ME *sigh* who posted. I mean, I posted a reply to MY post and that was the email I got. o_0
