Extra tiny soldering
Ok, I have a weller 40w iron and I want to do some seriously tiny work, I cannot afford to buy anything. how would I go about making a tip for the iron?

Could you just sharpen an existing one? Spend a few minutes with a grinder?

Yeah, but I don't know what to make it look like or how short to make it.

Length won't matter - just try and keep the same shape, but finer. ...I think,

That works fine (but i need to be able to do it in less than a half mm)

Are you playing with surface-mounted components or something? Grind or file the tip to a sharp point, or give us some more on what you're doing (there may be alternatives) L

Right, I see it now. If you're soldering onto those connections, it's a sharpening job. If you're soldering the thing off then on again you might be able to use soldering paste and a wide bit? L
