If you plug it in and then go to >My Computer right hand click the drive, and select "Format" and explore the drop down lists, (Win. Xp) after you have selected your choice click "format" making sure "Quick Format" is not selected.

I take it you're converting it to fat32 for mac os x or an older machine? If you're just doing it because you think fat 32 is better, stick with ntfs trust me. But otherwise you should be able to plug it in, and right click it's drive icon in my computer (I presume windows you're on) and select format and choose your format, not much harder than that. -Punk

Think it might need to be repartitioned before you format. Search the Internet for Fdisk software.
(Think I used PTDD super Fdisk last time...?)
