The only genuine non-human was the Horta, so that gets my vote. The rest of the humanoids aren't really "alien" (remember that cop-out episode where it turns out that ancient aliens seeded the universe with their DNA?)

The Horta was (as I remember) non-carbon-based, but what about energy-beings or Tribbles - not genuinely non-human? L
Ach, just extra-hairy hamsters. Not just carbon-based, but 20% oxygen breathers?
And energy-beings? L

You mean, for instance, the Zetarian ?
Yes, that's what I meant. L
There were others of course (see list I gave to Kiteman above)
What about the Q? L
True, I'd considered that, but though Kiteman might disqualify on the grounds that they "appeared" as humanoid.
The original comment was "non-human", so you deal with that... L
I am surprised I didn't see Tin Man in these lists. I love the idea of a giant living ship. Though my personal favorite were the 2-dimensional creatures that lived in black holes.
Ugh, I remembered a lot of obscure ones, and forgot that one *sigh*
I didn't see that one, but it's a good one. L
Outside of a high-energy, non-magnetic environment? Pur-leeze!(You know, people have actually modelled a form of magnetic life-form - torroidal fields, I think it was - but they couldn't come up with a viable analogue for a nervous-system, so they remained mindless browsers.)
I was confining myself to Star-Trek, but thanks anyway, interesting. L
Dang, I wish I could remember the magnetic beings properly. I'll have to re-read Martian again...
Yes but i choose ignore that episode
Not so: there were the Velaran (intelligent one-celled life-forms), and if we include the spinoffs we have even more: the Ophidians (snake like) There were the Medusan, the Nanites, the Melkotian, Denevan neural parasite, the Crystalline Entity, the giant amoeba, the distortion ring being, the Legaran, Farpoint creature, the Calamarain, even the Mugato might qualify. Of a more fishy form, we have the Antedean. As for life forces, we have the Organians, the Koinonians, Zetarians, Dal'Rok, and the Companion
Thank goodness for the ancient aliens because they gave us....
Must you argue about this? and take the question with a grain of salt besides several books that are "offical star trek" books list the borg as a race of thier own
Ok TyMan210 I know that the Borg are not just one race but they become a race of their own when they assmilate any race of being, they are then known as "the colective" And how about Species 8472 or Swarm Aliens
Well, it's like calling the Federation a race.
You know the Borg are not one race. They consist of thousands of races. So, you cannot really classify them as their own race.
I quite liked Q L
. The Tribbles
Okay fine any that come from earth
